    I really like the layout of your sofa, bed, and TV! The way you have them facing makes it feel like you still have separate sections for the "living room" and "bedroom".

    Great video clip! I’m funny 😄, but... liked the drain for the sink, the locking Gadget for the closet. They pay close attention to details. Great 👍 view of Mt. Fuji. Your apartment is nicely decorated and clean. Your video sequencing looked very professional.

    I used to live in a studio apartment not too much bigger than that. It wasn't a big deal, you just work with the space you have. All I need is a bathroom, a bed, and a kitchen.

    The rent is really reasonable here in Japan.
    $900 is really good for 2 yrs old apartment in Tokyo.
    Probably costs double in US, Canada or UK.
    If you go to a country of Japan you can rent a whole house with around $300-$500.

    Gorgeous! I rather like the larger couch and would choose that over a smaller one. You can always nap on it, fully stretch out while you read, and have more than one visitor if you wish. Those little Japanese couches are the worst in the world. Not at all comfortable. The fairy lights and Fuji view send it over the top. Well done.

    Oh, could you show that mail and trash part downstairs? That's the sort of thing I'm interested in seeing, like the little things like that door stopper you have or how trash recycling works in other countries or supermarkets and furniture shopping - which I don't think you'll do more of if you're a minimalist as your answers to comments would suggest.

    Cute apartment, Sam! 🌸 I think it sounds like a bargain considering Tokyo’s difficult rental market especially for foreigners. I’m also surprised to hear the exchange rate nowadays. I used to live in Tokyo during the first half of 2012 and oh boy the yen was expensive and euro so cheap. I think 10.000 yen was around 120-150€. My apartment was a run-down, not renovated apartment in the second floor of an old Japanese house. The walls were paper and I had old stained tatami floor. Yet the apartment was really expensive. In euros it was more than 700€ 😂

Just thoughts; not sure about the wall measurements, however, would the bed fit better in the corner along the length of the wall instead of the couch there in the other direction. Then put the couch along the wall where the bed is, then mount the tv on the wall.

    Can you hear the sounds from the street when you are on your balcony? Do you use it to sit outside anyways? - I realized for us europeans its a lifestyle but in Japan its more like... a little space to story stuff and dry cloths. xD
    O love the fairy lights, they give just the right amount of decoration and homey feelng to it!
    How are you holding back from buying all the stuff? I am a hoarder, its crazy how neat your place looks! I wish I could be more minimalistic.

    • @SamInTokyoo
      @SamInTokyoo  4 роки тому

      True, balconies don’t really serve the same purpose in Japan, which is why a lot of the time the layout doesn’t allow for outside lounging. I do have a chair out there and I sit outside sometimes but I actually prefer opening the door and sitting on the foot of the bed, since it’s almost outside anyway :) I’ve never been a hoarder or collector and I don’t like owning multiple items that serve the same purpose so it’s really easy for me to live minimalistic! It’s very hard for me to live with others because of this though haha, lots of stuff on display stresses me out
