Thank you for this comparison. Here's a 2005 pre-facelift Dutch built CZ5 owner with 190k km and still going strong. To add to the cost-cutting part )among others) that they did with the facelift model: they dropped the SRS side curtain airbags stored in the front pillars too. Also notable: it's cousin is the Smart ForFour. Another tip: you can fit the plastic engine cover of the Smart ForFour to your Colt to reduce some of the engine noise - but they are very hard to find as the Smart ForFour was much more expensive compared to the Colt and therefor sold (very) less.
Wow, cool stuff with the plastic engine cover. Didn't know that! Thanks a lot! The pre-facelift from this video is still running strong. The owner did not change the oil for almost 2 years and carries with it different stuff in the countryside. Moreover, it gets a wash 2 times a year! So this car is currently not really taken care of and STILL it works without any issue. Incredible!
Facelift looks much better IMO. Pre-facelift was better for each respective era considering they are pretty much the same in most aspects and pre-facelift is 5 years older. I have the facelift one. 2011 cleartec 1.3 edition and i am quite jealous about the practicality bonuses of the older one. All in all, both are solid nice little cars, well done mitsubishi.
Thanks for this video. There's not a lot to find about this car on UA-cam. I have the Colt in colour 'new white' from 2012. On the front bumper you mentioned a horizontal part where the number plate sits will be black, but actually (I think) after 2 years, this part is painted as well, so it was changed (like a facelift of the facelift :-)). On my car it's white. I wonder if they changed anything else. Also, I have the stock alu wheels, which are 15" and not the ones in your video that are 16". Those are the Ralliart wheels. It may have been an option to choose from on the 1.3, just like the bodykit this one has in your video. I'm glad I have the facelift version too. Especially the rear tail lights look so much better. I don't know how the noise level is on the older version, but I think my 2012 Colt is not so quiet. It's one of the very few downsides about this car, for me. I'm thinking about sound deadening the car, as mine is still good for many years to come with only 40.000km. It has cruise control and media buttons on the steering wheel, but I don't have the heated seats. The thing in the middle on the windscreen is for rain detection indeed, but I think also for automatic headlights (I have this option), so it checks the luminance.
Thank you for the comment! Indeed, I checked now and some versions had that horizontal part black, while others had it painted in the color of the car. The facelifted one in the video also has automatic headlights, but no media buttons on the steering wheel. In fact, media is very poor on that one. Regarding the noise, yeah, it is noisy. I tested it in a comparative test with VW Fox and I got 71-72 dB at city speeds (a normal conversation between two people is around 60 dB). At higher speeds I think it is even noisier. But overall, you can ignore this as the car is very reliable. No issues for the owner that borrowed it to me up until now. Oh, the exhaust pipe was changed because it rusted. Otherwise, no issues.
Cześć, dzieki za polecenie tego filmiku. Bardzo ciekawe porównanie. Sam mam colta przed liftem w takim silniku z automatem. Pozdrawiam z Polski.

Thanks for confirmation! I saw this, but I was not sure if this was still an option on the facelift or not and the model here just didn't have this option. Seems it was not an option at all.
Thanks for the comparison. Always wanted to find a comparison video of the colt vs the face lifted colt. The front look of the old colt looks like it's from CS3/Evos and the face lift had the outlander/Evo X look. I am currently driving a Mitsubishi Colt Turbo Ralliart Ver R, 5 doors, from Singapore. Its a old model by now, parts are hard to find. Scalpers are banking to sell their hogged stuff at high price.
Hi from the UK , i have a 2007 CZ1 Colt 3 door model in Red , it looks way better than the 4 door version but for some weird reason the 4 door got a large exhaust and 3 door only got a pea shooter exhaust lol , i do love the Colt as it is very reliable 117 thousand miles my one has covered and it is very quick for a small car 0-60mph in 12 seconds and i have managed to hit 120mph on a very long motorway once even though the manufacturers claimed top speed is 103mph ? so i dont think they ever did that top speed test on a long motorway before , the only thing i dont like is ride quality is very bad , i feel every pothole and it is not a good long distance cruiser but for £600 which i paid 5 years ago for it , i cant complain.
600 £ is a real bargain. The pre-facelift one in the video was 1,500€ (1,250 £) and the black facelifted one was 3,700 € (3,100 £) both bought by their owners in 2020. The ride quality is bad indeed because of its sporty suspension. This is something usual in sporty cars like this. Regarding the maximum speed, the producers are testing it on a lab. Imagine a red 3 door like yours in Ralliart version with 150 HP. That would be a real pocket rocket.
@@JurnalAuto Yeah I got lucky I bought my one from a friend and she now regrets it as the 2014 VW Golf she upgraded to had the Dual Clutch go wrong in the Transmission so very expensive to repair and when I got 120mph from mine it was on a steep downhill motorway at like 3am so was very safe, I did remove all weight such as spare tyre headrests and rear seats so that must have got rid of 100kg of weight, anyway I will keep using mine until it blows up lol I have heard they can get to 200 thousand miles with no problems 😁👍
George
