Thank you for this. Ammonite is one of my favorite books. 1) I think if I would've read it as a teenager I would've had more mind stumbles/stutters. When I read this the 1st time I was on a lesbian fiction kick so the pronouns didn't phase me. 4) I think books are made for readers. I don't think this particular book was written expressly towards a female readership. I identify as genderfluid and non-binary trans. I may make a video response later to answer all the questions more in depth.
