Great job, Susan! You know, when you "slim down" the number of items, you can see so much more. Your pieces have definition and your eyes have an empty place to rest. All your things are beautiful and now you can see them. I guess when I think primitive-well they didn't have a lot. We (not me) painted the ceiling in the family room this week. That meant taking everything off the fireplace and bookshelves. I did NOT put everything back. Once it was cleared out for painting, I could see the fireplace and how good it looks. I also redid the bookshelves. I don't know. It makes me feel good and there is still lots of decor, just not as much. Great video and I love what you chose to put back. And the old door-loved that idea. Wish I had one to cover the side of my fridge. ❤

Looks so much better. Now I am going to display my quilts because I have had a problem figuring that out. There is a story behind the quilt tops. My Mom sewed the quilts together many years ago using very old materials that she made us clothes from or other quilts and she died in 1991. As I was cleaning out a closet, I found enough for my brother and I and her three grandchildren. My cousin finished them for me to give all for a Christmas present. Yes she was speaking to me that day and I feel her love every time I look at mine. My cousin has since passed away making those quilts more specal.
I love your company in my home. You make me laugh and smile. I admired your red and white quilts so much that I had to go find me one. I love redecorating all the time too. Thanks for your channel. ❤

After Christmas I went through my tins on top of my cabinets. It's a shame I'm so attached.
I have a bag in my spare room with several things I'm giving my Granddaughter who has really started loving vintage. I was trying to see if I'd really miss them when they were gone. Honestly, I can't quite remember which ones I put away for her.
She lives in Kentucky, and is always taking pictures of here house, and asking my advice on what to put where. She's so funny. She does have a Vintage heart. I don't miss them.
Mine are really still a little to crowded for some, but I sure love it. I love old advertising.

I didn't think I would like your changes because I am definitely a maximalist. But I love what you put together. I really like the old fashioned tin picnic baskets up there along with your beautiful wooden pieces. Excellent job I'm excited to see what you did with your awesome advertising tins.😊😊❤

Woo Hoo Susan, another great video..~!!! Basket for quilts is a huge win...:) I have a door on the side of my fridge too and I love it...hides the box...lol I think primitive is always a work in progress and may not always be done.... Our minds never stop decorating...:) Watching Bridgett's videos visits to other prim homes to see how others do what they do. Like Donna too, It just all depends on what you like and feel. Atop the cupboards looks very prim, but I'm glad your keeping your tins in the other cupboard. I have a hard time thinning too, but as time goes on I end up filling some spaces with greens or pip berry strands. Back in the day there was a guy named Christoper Lowell, he had a show/decor.... and he was always saying don't be afraid to fill your spaces...well I do.....lol It's hard to not sometimes. lol I get mezzmerized at some of the houses. I love Bridgett's house too... it takes time to get there. You have a great visit in Florida...can't wait to see what you find...:)

Great job! I hate when I get stumped when changing decor out. Love all the bigger items and I think the metal picnic baskets are perfect! Love the door too. I put an old door horizontally over my fireplace so I can easily change out decor. Hubby was tired of patching the plaster above the fireplace and now I can hammer in nails willy-nilly as I need to. 🎉🎉🎉

Love the changes on the top of your cabinets! Now you make me want to put wood cutting boards on mine. I currently have old yellow ware bowls and pottery, but love your addition of wood.

I'm always slightly jealous of how relaxed and casual you are in front of the camera. I love how real you are! That Goodwill basket for $7.99 was a deal. Your Goodwill must have better prices than mine. Mine has gone nuts. I dont even want to film there anymore because people comment that I spent too much for things- but that's how all the Goodwills are by me. 🤷♀️

I eve or not, I still use my strainer and wood Malle to make tomatoes juice when I have enough tomatoes. It was my Moms but keep in storage until I need it. I removed my kitchen and put some new with old and put up so much antique stuff.

I thinned out to tureens and only add a decorative plate for the season like 1 for Christmas switch out for Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall much easy to keep clean and not cluttered
Oh Susan I am so glad to see this one! Great minds think alike 😂as I’m working on the exact same thing in my kitchen. My problem, I’m a maximalist and love it all and hate the downsizing part of it. My things weren’t sticky either though yes to dust 😂. I also loved the idea of the door from Bridgett’s video though not sure that it wouldn’t tumble down in my house, worse things have happened. You always do an amazing job!

Looks much better ! FUN, I live behind the Indian River Antique mall , Melbourne Village, where they recently moved to by Target. Love to go there. Umm, often.😊 Have been going there for quite a few years. I am lucky to have a a few Antique malls close by. Are u familiar with the Grant Antique mall? Used to be my go to, 20 miles away, now once a year.
