Thank you Rob for coming by the booth, we appreciate you talking with us and featuring us on the channel. Always good to see you out at the shows doing your work. Have a save new year, and lets plan a few nights next year around the show season for some exploring and camping together. Cheers!

It's great that there are so many options out there but my goodness it's a bit overwhelming.
Lav mics - YES! Thank you for using lav mics. The SEMA videos with horrible audio have gotten so old, its nice to watch one that actually has decent audio. Also appreciate your honest review of the show overall. It feels overwhelming just after watching your video, I can only imagine how overwhelming it would be in person. Thanks for putting the time and effort for the video.
I like your video style and genuine responses and opinions. Refreshing that the creator isn’t bought and paid for and can give their honest opinions in the comment section 🤙
Overlanding is getting nuts. 5 years ago it used to be rooftop tents and fridges now it's mobile expedition stations. I starting to remind me of people who wear 500$ hiking backbacks walking around in the city.
It’s ok havin all the bells an whistles so when the truck can’t go on or the drive runs out of talent an bottle they can have a rest until help comes. The most important thing about the rigs are the drive line an power. Then you can have all the bangles an baubles you can fit on.
I was an early adopter of @americanadventurelab spent a ton of money with their company and after they let me down on their high line lights, I will likely never support them again, they make some cool stuff, tout being a veteran owned American company, yet don't stand behind deficiencies when its inconvenient for them. As a combat veteran I love to support fellow vets, but apparently with these guys they think it's a one-way street. Specifically, after having to warranty 8-month-old lights that stopped working, the exact same issue occurred, and they don't warranty their replacements as if I was out of warranty off the original set. Totally trash considering these lights lasted maybe 6 months before rendering themselves useless. Just a warning to future AAL consumers.
@@RevereOverland i flew from Phoenix on Thursday afternoon and went back home Saturday morning. I cant even feel my legs anymore from walking all day all over the place.
Lots of nice stuff but it has become a princess show of off-roading for the most part not all... I have more fun with the most basic 4×4 rig without adding all this over the top stuff. I've gone to more places from The U.S. all the way down to South America with as little as possible...
why can't SUVs equipped with suspension lift kits have the same lift height both at the front & back . . . for e.g. a 3.0 in. suspension lift both front & aft of the SUV instead of 3.0 in. lift on the front axle & 4.0 in lift on the rear axle . . . . please advise . . .
New springs are taller and softer so they exaggerate the extra lift in the rear so that once loaded it rides level ish. Secondarily it could be the front is limited by the geometry of independent suspension, while the back might be a solid axle. Also tons of kits are equal lifts.
Everything is so samey. The trucks themselves might be new, but the builds all look like the same stuff we have seen before, for the previous four years. It's like Overlanding is becoming a xenophobic clique, where everyone wants to pigeon hole themselves into a particular theme or group. I'm not seeing new ideas or innovative solutions, just more of the same.
I think that's a good way to describe most of what's going on there. Everything at SEMA is big money, so you don't see the cool little things that are new (with the exception of American Adventure Lab... They always have something cool and new).
Totally agree. I used to think rigs were unique, then you realize how most of it is all trendy and people paying big money for name brand. Instead of using their ingenuity to fabricate their own set up.
I went to sema 5 times since 2010, great show but too big, maybe go again in 5 yrs, F1 next yr priority. Everything is online, a no need to go sema. My opinion only. Love innovation but agree with comments. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Yawn. They were all the same. Bolt on XYZ. Nothing custom at all. Love that the term "build" has replaced "bolt on". Only new was the custom bed and fiber fenders on the exped hunting tundra.
Yooooooo I know that guy he was my middle skool teacher yoooo!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahaha lol hahahahahaha he used to teach middle skool and I had him as a teacher hshahahah
That’s just what happens when you have a fast lens, low light, and leave aperture on auto. I could have fixed it by bumping up the ISO to 12,800, but it’s not important.
Should be called Instagrammers instead of Overlanders... These "Trucks" are a joke, and an embarrassment to the the real overlanding community. Great work on the video though Rob, I certainly don't mean any disrespect towards you sir.
I can't even imagine ANY reason or situation to invest in ANY way, original purchase, all accessories, anything at all in a ford. might as well just say I HATE MY FAMILY and dont cae in the least about them . Might as well run without brakes and on bald tires without windshield wipers in a torential freezing rain! COMPLETE JUNK!
Way too much time spent on each truck. Couldn't watch past 15 minutes. 90% of these rigs are nothing but giant ads. I'm amazed they didn't say what air freshener they were using. And you let them ramble on and on.

Hey mate…
One of the best overlanding videos from Sema cheers
Thanks!
Great show coverage my man!!! 👊🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸
Great job on the video Rob! Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this for those of us who couldn't be there.
Thank you!
Great video, thanks Rob!
Thanks for showing us around the Smartop!

Wish you showed and talked about the three Toyota's from Australia built by Patriot Campers. They were by far more of a detailed build.
Loved the cool GX460 here.. but I am slightly biased 😆
Same!
Good coverage of SEMA 2022

awesome vid of sema. Surprised how fast it went by for being a 50 min video.
It could have been so much longer if my feet hadn't given up on me from walking so much 😂
@@RevereOverland that Vegas convention center is crazy big. Glad you’re getting your steps in 😂
love all the 100k builds complete with the 25.00 Baofang's LOL!
This show was a blast! I didnt see you there!
My flight was [supposed to be] Friday morning, so couldn't go to the show then!

How much is it something like this?
great video, do you know who makes the molle panel for the backbone system
Rhino Rack. I’d assume they’ll launch it soon.
Damn shame you can't buy most of these things. Just try to order a Four Wheel camper. LOL. They'll get back to you in two years.
Funny you say that - he said he got it because it was quicker than waiting for the Super Pacific!
they are all beautiful but i n my taste is sequoa.

Overbuilt
My Good idea. I don't tell. My story .
I would have to sell my home for $500k to buy one of these trucks and live in it but naaaa I rather live in my home 😂

just put 37s on a motorhome DONE

I know there's more at SEMA than boring Toyota's
The video had Lexus, Jeep, Ford, and Nissan. Also, there's no apostrophe when you're talking about Toyotas.

People have too much money and none of the builds look like they've even been used
it's to showcase aftermarket products... so like concept cars basically
