I love this version, and I have listened to many - but Russell is the only one who sings the 2nd verse of this song and this verse makes the whole song meaningful.
russell sings this version with great passion & great emotions, hes the best tenor singer there is & if you don't appreciate good music then don't listen to it, nobody can go through what he went through & still sing this bldy good well done russel, luv ya your the best XXX
this was the verstion that waS PLAYED when my dad in law left my family my own dad died when i was 12 so my dad- in law was the dad id never known i miss them both.xx
Russell owns this song. Josh is wonderful but I have to give Russell Watson the edge. Ive never seen someone cross musical genres as convincingly as he does. Lets not confuse marketing with talent. If Russell had a producer with the pull and connections of David Foster (Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble) he would be world renown above and beyond Josh Groban.
I hope he knew i loved him so much but i wasnt able to be @ the end but i loved him but didnt get the chance to tell him i love you B i hope you know i did xx
They’re just jealous. Because he has the looks and talent, and he didn’t need to have years of training in order to achieve his talent, he had it naturally.
If you heard a trained voice singing this you would understand why people remark that they can tell he is not classically trained. There is a thin quality to some sections and a bit breathy in places. passion and emotion either his or yours is not the same as good singing.
I've noticed that sometimes he sings entire songs in just his pop/mix voice, sometimes a fully operatic voice, and sometimes a combination of both as he does here. Depends which song he sings it seems. I would agree that his classical singing isn't as strong as a proper full on classical or opera singer but I think it works for Russell and his style.
Josh Groban is good but he barely has any range to his voice. His voice gets annoying after awhile. This "untrained tenor" has a super human range. He can sing any genre and any type of song.
Love, love, LOVE him! 💙❤💙❤

Fantastic I wish I could sing like him.

❤️
Groban is definitely classically trained - his vocal coach is one of the finest in the country. He is a baritone, but with excellent range.

Why do people give this crap for being an "untrained tenor"? Who gives a shit, he has a great voice.

Not the same voice that I heard before but still beautiful. :)
kinda makes me sad that song when russel sings it i only put it on cause my mum likes him and she seing him tmoz
It seems to me that there is no processing on Russells mike in this performance (echo). Dont know if this was intentional or a technical error ??
He's so much better as a "pop" tenor
Josh Groban, take note...this is how you sing the song
