"whats going on with your face?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
“I’m going to fail the goal but I’m going to be happy about it” 😂😂😂😂😂 that was hilarious
When Ariel talks about being at the Jane Austen event and says “I forgot I was in 2024” I thought, “I wish I could forget that I’m 2024.”😆
i haven’t watched the pod in a while!! i always listen on my walk to and from work, but i got rained off today, so i’m watching while eating my lentil daal. goshhhh, the joy and comfort i get from this podcast is unmatched
1:05:17 I love these two people so much. This is hilarious
I think it's time to kill the 24 in 24 goal to accomplish the more important goal of reading less than 50 and do more of all the other fun hobbies too! Also, Ariel, you can totally make it to 100! I am waving imaginary pom-pons and cheering you on! (I just really want the whole Freaky Friday concept to come to fruition!)
Happy Thanksgiving to all Books Unbound's Canadian viewers!🍂
I also love wearing my glasses, Raeleen. I've gotten used to them. Maybe you can call the four oldest books on your TBR 'Stale potatoes' or 'Moldy potatoes' or 'These Potatoes have Eyes' (I'm picturing a potato with googly eyes).🥔👀
Raeleen I love your hair!! Love the color, so pretty. Ariel you look great with or without your glasses
The instant I clicked on the video I went: "LE LENTI!" which is "THE LENS" in Italian. Omg is this the episode in which we get Ariel's lens story?? I'm gonna find out
EDIT: IT'S THAT EPISODE!!!
You can do it Ariel!!! I feel like there are some great strategies that you can pull to that 100 book finish line. For instance, last weekend I read all the Heartstopper ones in a few hours. That's five books! They're so cute!
ariel! your jane austin dress feels like a pre bridal moment you look so pretty and happy
Fun episode! Loving an all the updates, book and life-wise😊❤
I’m on track to finish my book goal this year, but then I got a kitten 😅
😸
When Ariel mentioned her friend Sanne from Books and Quills, I almost had a heart attack whilst driving. My name is Sana and it felt like a weird fever dream where media starts to talk to you. Happy to know there are more of us out there! ♥️
8:08 incredibly relatable to the braces and retainer jounrey haha! When I first got my retainers I just wanted them out all the time!
Books unbound 5-year anniversary yoga + reading + knitting/crocheting retreat please 🎉
oldest potatoes : vodka
Ahhh what a great episode!! I needed that time with the gals honestly both of you lifted up my spirits a bunch today, thank you!! Wow Ariel I'm so glad the new night time contacts are working for you that's amazing and such quick results which is so great for you!! My goals are off by like eight books I'm mostly likely not going to make it and it's fine I'll just have the same goal for the third year running haha! My goal next year is to read one physical and one ebook I already own each month pre 2024. So Any books I do buy in 2025 will have to wait mainly because I've bought sooo many these past few years that are still waiting to be read never mind even older tbr books that I've not even touched yet. So I'm making space for older books in my tbr next year which will be nice.
I’ve also been meaning to read anna karenina all year and just haven’t been able to do it-i finally decided that i’ll just read it whenever raeleen does to capitalize off of her motivation lol
Me staring at Ariel's face: something's different ...
Raeleen: What's wrong with your face?
Me: Wait, what?
Not sure how you determine country but Franz Kafka was born in Prague, Czech Republic 😁 you had me worried for a second because I specifically bought Kafka books on my holiday to Czech Republic a few years ago 😂
Prague was part of Austria-Hungary when Kafka was born there. And he was an Austrian citizen until 1918, 6 years before he died.
Such a cute podcast. I'm glad your eye journey is going well. Congrats on the end of season for the book truck. I would love to go to the Jane festival sounds like you had a great time. Will you give an update on when your getting married? I look forward to more posts on your home channel. I really enjoy them. Raylene sounds like the party was a great success. You crochet so well. Will you ever have a channel for that? I would love to learn more, but I struggle with how to videos its so fast and some of the language I don't get. Have a great week. Happy reading 📚 😊😊
I also turned 30 this year, annoyingly it was a pretty miserable day for me. Ariel's little talk made me feel seen and also gave me a new perspective on things!
Happy 30th birthday! Suggest you celebrate your birthday once more and make it a happy day!
@@lilyarnaout7369 thanks, it was a while ago! It's fine, I don't dwell on it, next one is bound to be better
If you haven't seen I Saw The TV Glow, that's an A24 horror movie that came out this year! It's an allegory for gender dysphoria so it's mostly existential horror, but it takes inspiration from 90s teen monster shows so there's some of that fun Halloween flavor too.
loved that movie!!
Love you two so much ❤❤❤
Great 🎉episode! My 14 yo nephew has had those night time contacts for about a year and they’re working great.
Kafka isn't really from Austria though, he's from Prague which is todays capital of The Czech Republic :)
When he was born, Prague was part of Austria-Hungary. And his citizenship was Austrian up until the last 6 years of his life.
@@amandaelizabeth21 Yes, I know, but we don’t live in the past, you wouldn’t say an historical author from let’s say Indonesia is from its colonizer country either
So listen. I have had that edition of Anna Karenina, and most of the pages are notes. Penguin needs to chill on the essays in their deluxe editions 😅 Do not be afraid of the length! It’s very short chapters too, so it feels so satisfying. I also read War and Peace this year, because it was on my 24 in 24 (yes, you inspired me to do that!) and it was not nearly as readable or enjoyable as Anna Karenina.
2 things: 1. I never read physical big books. I only do them on audiobooks because my time blindness makes me not realize how long they are. Also 2x speed. And #2! I love you guys. But YOU. GUYS. NEVER. LEAVE. THE . LINK. YOU. TALK. ABOUT. And I get fomo. Am I not using UA-cam right?! Am I going mad? K bye ❤❤❤
Wow, this episode is packed with so much energy and honest life updates! I loved hearing about your Ortho-K journey, Ariel! Anyone else here struggling with glasses or contacts? I’m curious-what’s the most annoying thing you’ve experienced with them? Let's share our stories! Also, who else is racing to hit their reading goals before the end of the year?
If there is ONE goal to weight more heavily...let it be follow your ❤.
what's that sound 23:30
Youth culture is overrated... the culture you have around you is what is valuable. Enjoy it!
