One of many things that can frustrate for Expats living in the Philippines is the system that you may have to deal with. One of the systems is the carrier and mailing system. In todays video I go over a Amazon order that I have been waiting for and what you should do when receiving your order or what to do if you do not receive your order on time.

If it is expensive camera, IMHO its better to buy from the local store/mall because you can check everything before paying.

After 10 years, I realize that you can not count on The Philippines! The country is limited financially for any disaster or enemy military invasion.
Also, the Visa Rules change every year. Don't get too comfy!

@@macscotty9997 The marcos crapper. We've had 23 blackouts, not brownouts since May this year in Angeles. Not small ones, mostly 4-5 hours. Water problems, electricity and garbage removal. Basic services were forced to pay but they cannot provide. And these are basics.
Medical is a whole other nightmare.
Cost of living here is gone. There is not one benefit left to justify all the heartburn you WILL endure. 24 and a wake up.

Thanks...been a stressful week. Luckily we pretty much are fine...minimal damage 60 miles away...but solid 80+ mph gust for hours.

I have family that lives in Florida and I don't want to lose any of them as I lost my older brother on July 9th. That only leaves me with my younger brother and he lives in Florida but he beat feet before Milton made landfall. Hopefully you will get your order Brian.

I went to the store the other day they had Campbells soup, beef and vegetable for 27 peso a can, bought every can they had, that’s why things go out of stock. They had cans of ravioli for 67 peso a can, I bought four cases. And refried beans for 56 peso a can, I bought two cases. You have to buy when they have the items, or when the price is right.

I sent a package from the United States to the Philippines with basically a few shirts and a couple of hats for a friend. It arrived in customs on November 24th 2023. It has still not arrived. I can only assume at this point it was stolen by somebody in customs. This incident really changed my perception of the Philippines and especially the government. Definitely not a place I would ever want to live.

@charliela1844 it was a UPS package. I had sent a couple of packages with mostly food items and had no problems.
If!? you can't trust mail delivery or online purchases😮 especially the mail, because of its potential critical importance. then it says a lot about the people ! once your stuff gets to the Philippines if it doesn't make it to where you're going it means that there's corruption! theft! and incompetence. Obviously nobody thare gives gives a Rats banana!😮.. obviously. because the Philippine people are educated! But Even here in the USA there have been mail carriers that through letters away in the ditch because he simply didn't want to deliver them 😢.and he he was discovered later on after someone discovered the letters in the tall grass.
I ordered a DJI Mini 3 from Lazada a few months back COD and had no issues getting it in Cebu. It was a great price too. Hope you get it soon matey. 🤞

Milton eye went right over us but were safe. No electric its just like Dumaguete brownouts last year 2023 when we lived there.

I can deal with this kind of stuff for 1 month increments when I visit, but like good service the rest of the time.
I don't know where you live but it looks like you live out in the boonies. Do you think it would be different if you lived in a big city like mactan, Newtown or in a Ritchie area? You think you would get your packages without a problem?
I lived in Angeles City and my packages always arrived early or on time except one.
Iv received all of my Amazon orders no problems
brian i live in england and parcels go missing by the truck load, there are to many carriers, even though you can track it to your door
we send BB boxes every year and what we found out is lack or not enough drivers when our boxes are late

I get a lot of stuff from Lazada, but I ALWAYS pay COD... "nothing ventured, nothing gained" as the old saying goes.
We're planning a trip to Manila in November, so I researched earplugs for the kids, and found "Airplugs" for smaller ears, which supposedly equalise the air pressure gradually. Amazon had a 3-pack (we have 3 kids) for the same price as 1 on Lazada, and yes, they delivered to the Philippines, so I ordered some. They said I will receive them no later than October 20, but after watching this, I definitely will not be holding my breath.
You’ll get it. Amazon, with Ninja Van taking it when it hits the Philippines, has never failed me. Been late a few times, but always get my orders.
Shopee now has some items you can inspect and return on the spot and not pay your COD.
I'm impatiently waiting for an AVR to be delivered to put on my ref. before it dies due to voltage fluctuations.
Here in Mindanao its always either LBC or Ninjavan that delivers it.Lazada will not issue a refund unless you recorded it being opened.Also can't imagine the customs fee Amazon charged
Can't get on the phone with amazon in the US. Best I could do is get online with their chatbot and only if the package is 3 days late. Their support is a pain to do direct contact, Then if it is a third party seller they will have you contact them first.

I gave up on receiving packages when I was living in Cebu City. Anything that had to transit Manila inevitably disappeared.

Hey man, welcome to the provinces! I went through the same thing with Shopee. I ordered three different products at different times, they never showed. So now Shopee will not let me order with COD . I also have the same problem with Amazon. The product gets here in 2-3 days but it takes about 10 days for it to get to me.
I'm with you on the delivery process here, it's hit and miss at best. But what seems to help me is I tip the delivery guys about 25 peso every time they pass by with something. They all have my number and try to keep me posted. I'm sure it will come in time, take care and be blessed always.
If you drop ship it to ABC he will hand deliver it to you in the province.
WHen I order from Amazon to deliver in Bacolod, I always select standard delivery not expedited and it arrives before the delivery date. Thanks for the video!

International shipment to rural areas in Philippines is not recommended it has poor performance . The services is only good for big cities with international airports.

Is there a post office or shipment delivery place you can get packages delivered to? Some place people can get packages sent to and go pick them up other than getting it delivered to some province addresses?

I’ve been here in the Philippines for almost 3 years now and I’ve been ordering from Amazon the entire time I’ve been here and I haven’t had any issues with any of my Amazon orders. I also use Lazada and I’ve had a couple issues with a couple orders but nothing serious.

Brian, the most shocking thing I learned today was you waited until your parents called you to check out your Christmas loot. I always snuck into the room with the presents and checked out what I was getting by 3 or 4am. lol You must be so disappointed not getting your drone delivered. I suppose that is a down side to living on a small island with limited access to outside trade and sales. Hopefully the drone will arrive tomorrow. Phil

I had one of my packages go to Canada and I live in Syracuse, NY Go figure.
Amazon does not have secret carriers doing deliveries . They know the name of the company that took your package. They have the company's address. You could go to their main office and ask them where the package went. They scan the bar codes and have the outgoing truck or delivery vehicle responsibilities for your drone. Driver logs etc.. Every company knows what bar coded package is on what vehicle on what date. They know what drover has it. They know what address the package was signed for or dropped at and what exact time..
you're living in the rural areas, where things slowed down..
Its probably already been sold and or crashed by now. Hope it wasl something chaep like a mini 2
Mail service in the Philippines is shocking Gemma waited up to 2 months to receive mail then it went to a different post office and hour away because her post office doesn't handle parcels crazy and if it was over 10000 peso which it wasn't she would have to pay tax on it . No chance of finding & buying a decent drone in say Siargao city?. They must have electronics shops there. You may see it yet. It could be sitting somewhere, not moving yet because someone's going to have to take it to the island when, they have easier, closer packages to deliver. Give it another 5 days.....
The pony express was faster. 😂 at least shipping is cheaper than the cost of the pony express. It costed $5 to send a letter that was less than an ounce and adjusted for inflation that's about 200 bucks in today's $'s.

Not Amazon's fault? Amazon has 100% control over every carrier it hands a package. DHL works very well in PH because DHL sends trainers to PH to teach Filipinos how to operate. When packages are "lost" DHL doesn't tolerate that behavior. People will get fired for a "lost" package.
Amazon is happy to refund for "lost" packages and pass that cost on to suppliers and customers. People seem to be happy paying more to support poor service. It's a weird world.
