I just wanted to say thankyou. I passed just over a month ago and thought I should say thanks. Your channel really helped me, I get nervous very easily so learning to drive has been one of the hardest things I've done. But your videos helped me find my confidence and to actually start to enjoy driving! So thankyou 👍
i had my driving test today, i had 3 minors and it was the last road i did 35mph on a 30m as youve explain i must have been in a trace what an idiot! failed because of 5mph!! examiner gave me some lovely comments and urged me to re take ASAP. don't be disheartened if you fail. do it again :)
Thank you so much for these videos, they have been so helpful to me! I took my test this morning and passed with only 3 minors. I am over the moon, and I know that watching your videos last night really helped me with focusing and ultimately passing first time! Will definitely recommend you to all my friends! x
Test in a couple hours, been watching you and a few others religiously for ages now. I'm confident enough that I know I can pass, let's hope I do well enough to prove it! Thanks for your help!
I'm a compulsive daydreamer, not a normal amount at all. I've been thinking about giving up driving but it's hard to manage when you can't get anywhere and people are relying on you. I'm going to try the mirror idea but I usually don't realize when I'm in a daze.
Test is tomorrow and this video like all your others I've just watched have been very very useful! I think the videos you make are very helpful thankyou
I remember it was my 5-6 lesson I was going 30 and a bird flew past the car but hit the glass no damage done to the car but it scared the life out of me 😂😂
I really like your videos pal. like the way u explain everything mate well done and thank you for the videos they have been very helpfull let's see if it all pays off haha 😄
That last 1 I like mate! Keep hydrated, I failed today red hot weather dry mouth to 9's. Hardly had a drink at all before test failed on 1 thing because of my concentration, that bottle of water could of made a big difference to me.
I was coming back today from St. Neots and was going 35 in a 40 I accidently took out someones pet chicken of some sort. The lady had sticks and had them connected on a lead of some sort but this particular one was on the pathway then decided to act asif he was going to run fast and take off (he had a leach). And next thing he got hit by my front left tire. The lady was absolutely shaken, upset she lost her bird but it was my actual practical test not even a lesson. We had no choice but to ignore the lady and continue. I failed my test because I should've been going slower, allowing more room. Thanks Travis!
Honestly I wish you was my driving instructor . I have been watching your videos none stop . I think your such a great instructor and person . I was looking for someone to boost my confidence and give me tips as my own instructor isn't much help. My test is on Thursday and I have a disability do I have to let the examiner know before my test starts ? I'm so scared wish me luck
Hi, I am sure you can declare your disability when booking the driving test. Don’t worry about it if you haven’t. When you are chatting to your examiner you could drop it into the conversation about the disability. Try and remember that you are there to pass the driving test and don’t get distracted by the nerves. I hope you manage to drive to your potential and pass the test. Good luck.
DVLA know but when I was booking my test my disability didn't come up on the page list . Anyways I will tell the examiner and thank you I appreciate it ☺
My driving test is tomorrow and I've been watching all of your videos for tips. Hopefully I'll pass! I drive with hand controls so it's been a different experience to what most have when learning to drive!
Brill advice. Thank you. I live in a rural area, and we often get deer and wild boar in the road, I wonder how I would cope when faced with something in the road. I've not run anything over but I have been a passenger when my friend ran over a wild boar. She now has a big dent. The boar got up and ran off so we hope shes ok. When it happend my friend wasnt paying much attention to the road, so it really is the best advice to stay focused
Wish I watched this before my test, I stalled at a roundabout which would have only been a minor but I freaked out after rushing to get back to where I was and pulled out on a car...
I've got a test tomorrow, i'm a bit scared. Mostly due to maneuvers like turning around at a junction and such. I hope i get a 3 point turn or something instead.
I had a little boy throwing his book bag in the air near me on my lesson luckily i noticed him and was watching him and the traffic because his bag went in the road and he didnt even look
I had a mock test the other week and I was noticing that my instructor had ticked more than 3 marks for the same fault and I was annoyed at my self and not concentrating on the road which lead me to not see the red at the traffic lights so my instructor had to step in and obviously got a dangerous driving fault because I was about to pass it, got my test on Friday gonna try and just not think about what he’s doing and concerting fully on the road !
You are correct in saying you just need to think about you and not what is bring written down. A quick tip. At the start of the driving test in the first couple of minutes, the examiner will tick about 6 boxes. It does not effect you, so ignore it and just drive. Good luck
Great advice! I have my test next week. Will try to do my best and stay focused all the way through. Ohhh and I did run over a bird on my driving lesson🙈🙊
Failed two days ago with no minor faults and one serious for having wheels slightly to the side while stopping at a set of lights. I feel like theyre more likely to fail you if it ur first time ;)
Hi James, I had my test and unfortunately it didn't go to plan, I got 4 majors and 6 minors for approaching a junction at too high of a speed, not planning ahead properly when a lorry came on the roundabout and breaking, not being in the correct separation distance behind a big lorry on a fast dual carriageway and also cutting up someone on the roundabout. I feel like a complete failure as I thought I was a good enough driver, do you have any tips to keep calm for my next test? Thanks
Hi, sorry to hear the news. Keep hold of your green result sheet. Go over the mistakes with your instructor and make a plan to work on the serious driver faults, one at a time. Then have mock driving tests and see if the same mistakes come back. Good luck
I failed my first test on Friday, I got 3 serious, I was in an area I'd never been in and I messed up but I've rebooked and I now I know how it feels in the car with the examiner I think I'll pass next time 😂
I've got my test next week. Today I went down a road which is known for a lot of pedestrians coming out between parked cars, so I concentrated too much on that and didn't think about the Give Way sign at the end of the road, until I was prompted. Any tips for "spreading your concentration" as it were?
I always ask my students to slow down a bit more to give yourself more time. Scan the road ahead to check, then look through car windows in advance for movement and gaps for junctions and driveways
@@staceyedwards9192 didnt make it :( I only got 4 minors But I got a dangerous/serious fault when I panicked and turned right into traffic instead of left towards the kerb 😭😭😭😭 Good luck! Hopefully you'll have better luck than me!
Had my test on Wednesday and failed within the first 5 minutes as i was concentrating on the traffic carming and completely forgot the road was 20mph. The rest of the test went really well only had 6 minors.
You can practice in your car as long as you are insured and you have a qualified driver in the passenger seat. The qualifying driver could be your husband as long as he is over 21 years and has been qualified for over 3 years.
Unfortunately, I failed my drive test today at very beginning while just turned left while I supposed to do so , got small car accident at the same time !!! So frustrated after specially under such pressure while the test officer in my car and he didn’t even action . I accept to be failed due to my mistake but I seriously amazed that my test officer let the crush happened without press his side of break paddle !!! And ended up blamed all result on my side. Lucky no one got hurt as my car wasn’t even speed up ... I was super nervous I knew ... but it doesn’t mean the office himself didn’t realise that a car crush was going to be happened if he was so sure I was doing it wrong . So disappointed 😔 anyway ... will have to take my test in 2 weeks time again ... hopefully I won’t be so depressed & nervous on that day !!! But thanks for your vids , wish I could watched last night and nothing would happen this morning then ...
Sorry to hear about your test. Lots of learners make mistakes in the first 5 minutes because of nerves. Keep practicing and good luck with your next driving test.
hi, talking about things happening on your test, had my test this morning, everything was going fine then a can of calms fell out of center collum, jammed under the clutch, I then went to change gear with out knowing this, stooled the car and failed! onwards and upwards lol
I ran a pigeon over a couple of months ago during a lesson. I couldn’t stop because there was a huge queue behind me and there were cars to my right so I couldn’t swerve. I still feel like an awful human being.
I am so gutted I failed my test first time last week. was really hoping to pass as I desperately need to drive for work. I've got my next test in Jan. Any useful tips? Everything including my most hated left reverse manoeuvre went perfect but I screwed up on a hill start :( cried my eyes out after :(
channelDiya hi, sorry to hear about your driving test. I would take a mock driving test at a busy time of the day with your instructor. Ask the instructor to take you on a difficult test route. Also practice the hill starts. The second test tends to get pupils nervous more. Eat before your test to give you energy. Good luck
I was on a fast road on one of my lessons and a family of ducks I went a little wide and did all my checks but my teachers told me off for it, I'm sure I hit one of the ducklings :(
+Clare Campbell-smith if you are on your test, like you said do all your mirror checks. I would expect the examiner to use a bit of common sense. But you have to be carful when giving way to things on the road, traffic behind you might not understand what you are trying to do. Good on you for saving the ducks.
Learn-to-drive Travis thankyou, I have my test today, I'm scared, been watching your videos and I think it's helped me a lot, I just hope I don't make any stupid mistakes!
I am having trouble focusing, like my mind shuts off, specialy if i make lil mistake or instructor critisize me, like i withdraw... Is there any "trick" i can do to get back in present moment and regain focus? Thank you
Hi, why don’t you ask your instructor to start giving positive feedback, rather than criticism. That will go a long way to helping keep your concentration levels up. The other could be you are tired. Accept that as a learner you will make mistakes and your instructor should be giving support when these mistakes happen. The common thing is most learners think about the mistakes and make another one just after the first. If you make a mistake, focus on what is happening now and later when you stop your instructor should be giving you advise on how to improve and stop the mistakes happening again.
@@JamesTravis i am having fear, and instructor only critisizing me, shouting, and taking wheel etc created mental block i dont know how to deal with :/ I will ask for possitive feedback but i dont know is that even possible
The AdI code of conduct says the instructor should treat the pupils with respect and support. Sounds like if your does not, then it’s time to move on and get a better instructor.
I have my test tomorrow, if you're approaching a roundabout with 2 exits, a left and a straight ahead, and the roundabout has 2 lanes, which lane is the best to be in if you're following the road straight ahead?
Learn-to-drive Travis I passed with 7 minors I should have failed though as the examiner had to press the brakes to stop me at a junction but according to the examiner she said since the road marking had almost completely faded, the sat nav was completely wrong and cuz sun was making it harder for me to see she ignored that dangerous which I found very weird and she allowed me to pass
Thats a good question. If you are asked on the Uk driving test to do a parallel park or any other manoeuvre and you cannot complete it because you don't know it they you will fail the whole test.
My driving instructor told me about how a girl he taught was on her test and there was two ducks in the road so she slowed down a bit but assumed they would fly off. However the ducks did not fly off and she ended up killing them both. needless to say she failed her test :(

I got my test in 3 days time hope this helps me pass first time
Good luck and have a good drive
Learn-to-drive Travis I passed with 7 minors
I should have failed though as the examiner had to press the brakes to stop me at a junction but according to the examiner she said since the road marking had almost completely faded, the sat nav was completely wrong and cuz sun was making it harder for me to see she ignored that dangerous which I found very weird and she allowed me to pass
if you cant parrell park do you automatically fail?
Thats a good question. If you are asked on the Uk driving test to do a parallel park or any other manoeuvre and you cannot complete it because you don't know it they you will fail the whole test.
I did infact hit a bird on my test
Wow
My driving instructor told me about how a girl he taught was on her test and there was two ducks in the road so she slowed down a bit but assumed they would fly off. However the ducks did not fly off and she ended up killing them both. needless to say she failed her test :(
