    This is the best explanation of this process I've found on UA-cam. We design games and this will allow us to print and cut our own pieces. Much cheaper than buying them and we can make them any size and shape we want. New subscriber, glad I found your channel.

    Want to save some time? Select the first registration mark, jog the laser to it, then mover your *workpiece* to the absolute point of the mark. First registration point set. You only need to pinpoint the 2nd registration mark. It's much easier to move the paper to the exact position than jogging the laser on the first mark.

    There are easier ways to do the selection process. One is to select everything and then unselect the borders. Another is to select each of the borders and move them to another layer, then tun off or no-output the rest.

    Hi Gil , great video . Your videos have really helped with our decision to go ahead and purchase the Emblazer 2 as an addition to our business making various craft items . We were specifically interested in making clocks and engraving . However , we are really struggling with time management using the latest version of Lightburn 0.9.10 . We are working on the latest controller firmwave , and running on Windows 10 - 64 bit . We are finding that even fairly basic designs where we require fill areas are showing as taking 12hrs and above . Having looked into different forums etc we found that to reduce the work time they is an option to "flood fill" which will reduce the working time to a reasonable level , however looking on the latest version of Lightburn there is no option to Flood Fill in any of the settings . We also dont see a choices of crosshatching etc . Apart from that the program seems to be working and cutting ok , apart from wi-fi issues which although connected doesn't want to work but works fine via usb.
    Could you please advise what we can do to reduce the work time as if we cant resolve this then we will not be able to do the work we purchased it for as it just wont be profitable . I've tried contacting Lightburn on the web but cant seem to get an answer. The only thing we've seen is that it appears there was an issue with the flood fill and it was removed , but it does say that if you have a diode laser that it should still be there ??? As a beginner it's really put a damper on getting this machine so if you have any videos relating to this latest version of Lightburn and the Flood fill issue please let us know so we can enjoy the Emblaser 2 to its full capacity . Really do hope you can help - Jay .

Maybe worth pointing out somewhere on the Lightburn page for other beginners . Very grateful for the help from Forum members , no doubt as a newbie I'll have a few more " issues " in the near future while we get the hang of it . Many thanks .

    • @LaserLivestream

      Make sure you have markers on the design that you use with both the Sihouette and Lightburn. That way you will get the same result with both workflows.

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  2 роки тому

      You can use Print and cut on a CNC, all you need to do is jog your tool to your registration points, and then run the job in the same way. The theory of the same, and depending on how well you set up the registration points, you should get a great result. Let me know if your successful in getting this to work on your CNC!

  • @nickm324

    At 14:32 after saving the layout the registration marks are hollow outlines from the tracing process. After you go back to Lightburn from placing the printed page into the laser at15:38 those same hollow registration marks are now solid black lines. Did you skip a step that got cut out in editing where you make those solid?

    • @LaserLivestream
      @LaserLivestream  2 роки тому

      Hi Nick, Those marks are just the "+" symbol within the artwork. What you are seeing is originally the traced artwork, then the original graphic artwork within Lightburn. As you can imagine, the original artwork is tighter than the tracing and makes it look like the markers are hollow. You can use both (traced artwork or original artwork) to perform a Print and Cut. You have great eyes! Well done picking the difference.

      Are you electing the Print and Cut future before picking the first point? Once it's correctly selected, you should see a check mark by the first target in the election menu.

      My problem 'was' that the points was impossible to target in the menu, no crosses, no marks, no highlights or colors. 'Align output target' was not automatically selected either.
      But as I found the same tutorial that you recommend to me, I saw that by selecting this menu 'Align output target' manualy, even without display feedback, the message 'Print & Cut mode' in the status window could be activated or deactivated on demand.
      So I started cutting and it worked!
      Many thanks for this this essential function for my job.
      So I can imagine that it is something to verify in the Lightburn new version.

      @@christopherleblanc5187 The flight Yoke on the Atari Star Wars game was unique and something people have true to reverse engineer for year's now.
      I did see it again on another Atari release called Road Blasters. Slightly modified, but don't finitely the same flight yoke! 🚀😎👍

    Another method of getting your borders would be to use the offset function

  • @PeterWheeldon
    @PeterWheeldon 4 роки тому +1

    Why not "Select-All" and then "De-select" the borders you want then hit "Delete". Even quicker.

      Great tip. I do that if it is one large graphic but have not tried it on multiple. Is this the fastest way you have found to remove unwanted detail when finalising layout?

    • @PeterWheeldon
      @PeterWheeldon 4 роки тому

      @@LaserLivestream yes, particularly when the layout is uniform like your example, because you can do the right-to-left selection just grabbing the edges of all the borders in a line that you want to keep.

    one seriously expensive laser to cut 6mm ply, looks nic¡, good form factor etc but nearly 3k! How many passes for 6mm ? Great for non techies as its all there and ready to go, cross platform etc but it just seems so expensive. If its one pass for 6mm then not to bad i guess for a machine that anyone can use.
    I dont know what the watts are the tech specs say equivalent to a 15 to 20 watt co2 which is about the same as my twinned diodes which can cut 6mm in one pass with the right lens on with air assist on high pressure burns straight through.
    In Lightburn you can use the Fire button on low power in the console window to jog your laser to the right position just set it at 5% on a diode, not recommended on a Co2 different kettle of fish. You need a high quality C02 to get good line up not a k40 of k50 etc something like a thunder will work beautifully.
    I digress from the video , I was just astounded at the price, Its a good demo for a little used function but very useful tool in lightburn but that function is really only useful if your doing repetitive runs time after time, one piece of paper No..... 😄 I have used it for my wife who is a teacher in early years to make many stencils for the 30 plus kids she has in her class! For that its great and on a CO2 its brilliant for cutting out badges or xmas ornaments etc etc. Turns the machine into a processing plant really. Good Demo.

    tbh your technique on manual deleting the insides of the boxes are slow and time wasting. just select all and weld. only the outer outlines will be left behind. your welcome😉
