This was my fifth year at Wasteland Weekend (Im always in barter town). I LOVE it! Planning my entire year of touring and working different conventions (like comicon) around this event! Thank you for making this film!
Why haven't I heard of this before? I feel sad that I haven't been going to this for the past 9 years😕. I will definitely be making plans to come to this event.
What a GREAT DOCUMENTARY!! Seriously, well done! I wanna go SO BAD and this just made me wanna go 100x more. The amount of effort and dedication that goes into everyones' costumes and the detailed props/campsites..... amazing.
Rachel S its beyond anything you will ever do i went for the first time last year and will die if i miss it ever again... And i didnt experience a quarter of what she has to offer.
Batbby, have you gone yet? If not, you just need to make the jump. It'll change your priorities in life. Find the online wasteland weekend community, and we'll help you make it happen.
That's insane, I have always seen your pics, but watching this I never knew how big it is and is set up like a actual town. I really want to go to this one year. So entertaining to watch this and learn
I'm in the Haunted House business. Me and my friends are part of a little "family" from various haunted houses, called the Clan of Daemona. I've got them all into the idea of going here as post-apocalyptic versions of our characters.
Thanks for this video! Post-apocalypse is my absolute favorite genre; it's all I ever wore for Halloween, I even taught myself how to make "dust" and "dirt" that survives being washed. How am I only now hearing there's an event in which to live this post-apocalyptic life? Oh, I sooo hope I can go! Awfully far, but it looks amazing!
Love the doggo! Mine likes getting made up to look like she's been roaming through the post-apocalypse with me, because she knows she gets attention when she's like that. I use mascara and eyeliner to grunge up her face, and just a little bit of red and black lipstick (mixed together) right around her mouth, so it looks like she's torn up some prey a few hours ago.
it looks absolutely wonderful, I'm in Australia so am unlikely to get the chance to attend , I have however been to Silverton in NSW Australia and seen the original Mad Max vehicles (many years ago). I've been a fan of Mad Max since 1979 (old ones are the best for me)....I'm a Grandma now ....but I'm pretty sure cool Grandma's are welcome in Wasteland too ;-)
THIS was the original closing credits song: ua-cam.com/video/agL9ftHYrRQ/v-deo.html MFs hit me with a copyright strike over it, and the video already had 50K views, so I was NOT willing to reedit and reupload. The only option they gave me was to use some royalty free bullshit. OOF.
Even if you go by yourself,....you will never be alone out there. It's the greatest family (you didn't know you had) that you will ever meet that are covered in spikes, chains, ammo, and leather. They will show everything you need to know, everyone you want to know, and even give you stuff to wear to get you ready for the end of the world as we know it.............. ......and that's just the beginning.
Great film work one of my favorite movies from when I was a child I am 40 now also even from a young age 4th of July and Halloween we're always my favorite holidays I love the junk the grime the creativity good show
Thank you so much David for making this great little docu about an event that actually left me in tears, I love this so much. I made plans years ago to modify a few of my vehicles. I am so motivated to chop them up this year for sure. Looking forward to getting something like this started here in Canada. Hopefully you guys can keep coming together every year, it seems so worth it!
I just found this, holy smokes! I need to build a Vehicle from mad max movies and get out there. So freaking awesome! Thanks for the great video, very nicely done..
I live super close to this and love post-apocalypse anything... How am I just hearing about this now??? A friend mentioned it and the more I look at it the more I want to go...
Burrning man is obviously amazing, but for me, I think this looks simpler and more like something I would sign on for. Not easy comind from the East Coast. No date for the next one I guess?
Such an awesome movie and not just because I get to see my beautiful Charlotte(the old beat to shit police car with the Gatlin gun on the hood) in it. Well done,...... well worded, well edited, and shows the amazingly apocalyptic perfection all in the time frame that is needed to explain what you all are missing if you don't go to Wasteland Weekend....... YOU ARE AWAITED ₩₩ 2019
I can't believe I've never heard of this until now. My Borderlands-obsessed self is thoroughly enjoying this. Too bad it's not on this year. We had to cancel the fun apocalypse for the not-so-fun apocalypse.
I've never watched this all the way through. Thank you, this is amazing. I was inches off-camera for a couple of these moments, which is extra awesome.
I've been looking at wasteland weekend on UA-cam for years now, watching people have fun with their friends and bring their custom made, dystopian themed props. I'm hoping to go someday.
This is absolutely incredible. thanks for taking the time to do this. I'm from massachusetts and I might go with my dad. We love Mad Max and all apocalyptic stuff really
This might BE a great documentary, but this event no longer stands for the values it once did. The year I made this (2018) was the last year I attended. And by the horror stories I heard about the next two years, I am glad I didn't go. It's an utter shitshow now. Bureaucratic, rule-filled, fucking nonsense. I will never attend this event again. It isn't what it used to be. It has grown too large. Definitely check out Uranium Springs though. Exactly like WW, but smaller, and better, with less rules.
there is no better way to scrap a weekend than there, lol. apocalypse halloween! seriously, they really should make another mad max movie, it d be dirt cheap to do. this show is a wonderful piece of art wrapped up with wicked fun things to do and see. too bad I live too far to go, it s disneyland radical with an attitude, lol. perhaps, with chance, I d be able to make a similar event here up north, it rocks! to Vahalla my brothers!!!!!
NICELY DONE!! I've never heard of WW before and this film was very immersive I loved it. Almost felt like I was right there. EXCELLENT JOB!! This is something that I would love to experience. I Cosplay and love making post-apocalyptic costumes.
Nice, I like that you showed Death Guild Thunderdome towards the end! I've never been to WW, but I saw them many times at Burning Man where they hold the arena fights that are fun to watch.
Thank you for this. Truly an introspective look on what the Wasteland actually is and all the fun you can have there! I've wanted to go to WW for years now, I've finally done my research and will be applying as a volunteer this year. I'm from NY so the trek alone would cost me an arm and a leg so I'm hoping I can get in as a Volunteer & see what all the hype is about. What kind of bike did you have/would you recommend? I want to have a means of transportation around the camp as well as the option to go off-roading when not on duty.
I feel like "moisten yourself first" is such good advice for so many of life's shitty obstacles. If you go into life properly hydrated, with plenty of rest, and properly moistened you could accomplish any damn thing you want!!!
And so the courier who had cheated death in the cemetery outside of Goodsprings had cheated death once again and the Mojave Wasteland was forever changed
Yes, I'm loving this just bring a daily driver first, then build something outrageous for the next round, the daily driver won't disappoint anyone, I'm in
Very interesting video. But you never did say when and where this event is. Also, you should check out a movie called "A Boy and his Dog" very good and odd movie.
This documentary makes me want to pack up shop and go really bad. So beautifully shot. So well edited. This looks like a freaking blast.
Do it Kevin!! Get out here!
Agreed
I showed my boss at there army surplus store i work his eyes light up and says how can i cover your shifts for this we have to go
A nuclear blast
Trust me, there's nothing like it. So much fun!
“Patrolling the Mojave makes me wish for a Nuclear winter.”
@Maitre Mark and how looks nuclear snowflakes?
Soon
I fucking new I would see this comment
😂
You might get your wish the way our world is going
I'm quite saddened to learn that I cannot go here yet due to my age, however I'm excited for the day that I can.
Whats the age limit?
Daylen Higman 18 and up I believe
man, id love to set this up in Australia. Where it all began....

Rachel S its beyond anything you will ever do i went for the first time last year and will die if i miss it ever again... And i didnt experience a quarter of what she has to offer.
Rachel S , I agree with you 💯 percent!!!!

The very last song of a minute or so, Blows?? IDK about that it sounded pretty good to me!! All of the music was great!!

Congrats
♡♡♡ Wish I lived nearby, only went once. Loved watching this
I had three tickets and both of my buddies snaked out, so I had to sell my tickets and took a major loss. I gotta go someday!
Aw you shoulda just taken a chance and gone alone! I bet you'd make friends fast.

I am only 12 minutes into the movie and I am all in and going. I think I just found where I was born to be.
I love things like this! In a country that is divided by political views it's always nice to see people getting along!!!
Thank you so much David for making this great little docu about an event that actually left me in tears, I love this so much. I made plans years ago to modify a few of my vehicles. I am so motivated to chop them up this year for sure.

Ya somewhere in the Alberta wastelands that would be awesome 👍
This is by far one of the best vids I've seen yet on the event. Just bought my ticket for 2018 2 days ago and can't wait. Thanks for this!
The one event I've been going to for five years now. It's the best sort of event I've ever been too in my life. Awesome documentary, My Friend.

I’m surprised at the lack of borderlands psychos but I can’t wait to go to this one day
You had me at..." That's me." Brilliant.

Petition to turn this into a year long event
That's 2021... We're practicing now on 2020
Great job putting this together. Sadly I won't ever be attending. I don't do well with heat. I love trees to much. It does look like fun.
Okay definitely going on my bucket list
I love it! This is definitely on my bucket list. Loved the Hans Zimmer music at the end, great video man!
This is absolutely incredible. thanks for taking the time to do this. I'm from massachusetts and I might go with my dad. We love Mad Max and all apocalyptic stuff really

Well done on every front, but above all. your music choices stood out and drove home the feeling of the weekend! Great work
Excellent presentation! The reality is, we are not too far from seeing such vision becoming the normal lifestyle on planet earth.
This is a awesome documentary.
Amazing.
Imagine just passing by this
Amazing event, along with great composition and poetic narration. Very good job!
Best Wasteland Weekend video of all time. Thank you.

I'm watching this in November 2019 while working on my outfit for my first trip to Wasteland Weekend 2019!
you mean 2018??
Absolute Gigantic!
If there was a permanent settlement, I would move there
Heh, it's called Slab City at the Salton Sea, a corner of CA where the apocalypse came early. Just watch out for the tweakers.
Wow, Definitely have to visit ! Rockabilly and American muscle lives !
This was so good. Watching from Australia. Hope to join in one day!
*bows*
I hope so, too!
And so the courier who had cheated death in the cemetery outside of Goodsprings had cheated death once again and the Mojave Wasteland was forever changed
