Thanks Joe, appreciate you 👊🏻 Super aesthetic right 🤍 I love the look 🥰 I'm not sure when the next Biome drop is, but my feet have been really enjoying the fit 📏.... I hope to have some more biome updates soon too 😉
Great video as always mate. The look will definitely 'help' people convert to a barefoot show, however we in the barefoot show community have got used to high prices and will may stop potential converts. Personally, like you it sounds, I prefer a more basic minimal style show - delete the back padding to the ankle, I'd also delete the more cushioned look rounded edge to the sole.
Thanks for the kind words 🙏🏻 I totally agree, the look might encourage more people to switch to barefoot shoes, but the high prices could be a barrier for new converts. Like you, I prefer a more minimal style, without the extra ankle padding and the cushioned, rounded edges on the sole. What do you think could be done to make barefoot shoes more accessible while still maintaining quality?
Yes I love these. I have a pair of skinners classics I think they’re called or retro (something like that) and I love them. Only thing I don’t like about my skinners is that they are hard to get on😂. Love these Vivo’s tho.
It's great that you've found a pair that you enjoy, even with the challenge of getting them on. I'm curious, how do you find the Skinners compare to other minimalist shoes you've tried?
@@OwenJacksonthey are barefoot with a wide toe box and 0 drop but they don’t look like it from the outside. The ground feel is pretty good along with the width, but I do think they lack in flexibility in the mid foot.
Glad you're excited about the shoes! I can't quite knock off £50, but I can help with a 20% discount, check out the link in the bio for that! 😊 What do you think of the design? Do you usually go for something minimalist like this? Cool Boosted board btw 🛹🤘 Have you found any barefoot footwear suitable to skating in?
Glad to hear you like them! 🤩 How do you plan to wear them, will they be your go-to everyday shoe or reserved for special occasions? Also, don't forget to use the discount code in the description when they're back in stock! ✌️
@@OwenJackson They'll probably be my go to everyday shoes since they look flexible in terms of what they can be worn with in comparison to vivos other offerings.
Got these for a week now, they look great but are alot tighter than what i m used to, resulting in a blister on the top of my middle toe knuckle. I m used to wearing knit vivos and the canvas just doesnt give alot of snugness if you know what i mean. Great looking shoe tho. 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing, Mathieu. You're spot on, the shoes really do look great. Hopefully, the canvas will loosen up a bit over time so you won’t have to deal with more blisters. I’ve heard some people suggest sizing up, however, I'm happy with the overall length, just a bit more width would be great. Had you considered any other Vivo's or other brands before buying the Gobi?
How are you getting on with these? Have they softened up at all? I bought a pair but undecided whether to keep them. They seem very stiff and could do with more volume vertically in the toe box.
Thanks for watching. I found the leather version to be a better fit. They're my current favourite urban shoe. ua-cam.com/video/g6_VXDkhoco/v-deo.html Are you a barefoot shoe fan?
HI Owen i am looking for shoes that have a wide toe box and no to little toe spring and heel raise but at the same time looks fashionable and can be used for daily life. i really want to get the Magna lite MG SR but i'm scared it might not have the wide toe box i want. Do you know the width of its toe box so i can compare to feet and then decide if it suits me. My shoe size is 45. and my toe box width is about 9 cm ( measured from the very sides of the big and small toe) do you think it will enough, if not can you recommend some other shoes with the same qualities but also look fashionable ( preferably black) i suffer from plantar fascitis so keep that in mind thank you.
Hey Youssef, thanks for reaching out! The Magna Lite SR is a great option, but I’ve only seen FG and SG variants, could you clarify which model you’re referring to? I understand your concern about the toe box width. While I don’t have the exact measurements for size 45, I’ve found the Magna range to be pretty consistent in sizing and it’s worked well for me. It might be worth contacting Vivobarefoot to get the exact dimensions for your peace of mind. Plus, with their 100-day return policy, you’ve got some flexibility if they don’t work out. You can also use the discount code in the description to grab some money off 😃
Hey Ammo, I’d love to try the leather version. It might offer a bit more flexibility and possibly provide more room, but I can’t say for sure. Are you interested in this style of shoe?
@@OwenJackson I've got the black leather coming tomorrow with a pair of Primus Ludo school shoes for my 5yr old! I'll report back on my findings! Ended up returning my motus flex 😕 after knee surgery I started getting hot spots in a couple of areas on both feet and the insole kept sliding and crumpling up!
Exciting to hear that the black leather shoes and the Primus Ludo school shoes are on their way 🤩 Bet you and your kid are stoked 🤙🏻I’m confident they’ll be a great investment in your child's foot health and movement 🙌🏻 I’m sorry to hear about your experience with the Motus Flex. @@rosswiegel4751 best fitting Vivo's for me to date!! wide enough for my 11cm wide feet in a UK9...quality leather, fairly soft and subtle straight out the box 👍🏼 I have knee issues so will try a more cushioned insole, the cork is alright though.
Have you tried them too? Just a bit more room for my wide feet and they'd be awesome ↔️ What other styles have you tried? Have you found anything that fit your feet and your style?
It's definitely a conundrum. I love the aesthetic of the Gobi sneaker, but it feels narrow to me, and others such as yourself have had the same issue. A friend wears theirs without the insole for a roomier fit. I wonder if the leather model might offer more room since supple leather tends to be more accommodating? Recently, I tried the Courtside Canvas from Feelground [ ua-cam.com/video/x-oSTKmG95k/v-deo.html ] which could offer an alternative? There are some exciting companies in this space, so maybe one of them has something that works better for those of us with wider feet who still want that barefoot feel and premium aesthetic. If you come across any other options, I'd love to hear about them 👍
@@OwenJackson I tried the leather also but unfortunately the same. If anything they felt narrower as the leather is a touch thicker so feels “padded”. I took the insole out which helped a touch, more volume but still noticeable on the outside of my little toe. I may take a look at those from feelgrounds. Look nice 👌
Hey Pat, thanks for watching the video. Just to let you know, my shoes are a UK size 8 / EU size 42. I’m not sure how helpful this will be, but I hope it provides some useful info. For reference: External Width at the Widest Point: 10.5 cm. (This measurement includes the sole, which sticks out slightly beyond the actual usable width of the shoe. So, the shoe's usable width is a bit less than this.) Insole Width at the Widest Point: 10 cm. (This is the width of the space inside the shoe where your foot actually rests so more representative of the space available for your foot) Hope it helps 🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing your experience Dan. It’s unfortunate the Magna JJF didn’t work out for you. Have you had a chance to try any other barefoot brands, or are you thinking of giving Vivo another shot in a different size? Would love to hear what you end up finding that works for you 👍
Here’s my impression (similar to yours): 1. Nice to look at but … 2. The collar around the ankle is too high or not soft enough and rubs up against the bottom of my ankle bone. 3. The fit is great w/ no socks or thin socks but my toes are suddenly very cramped with a normal sock (and I don’t think the shoe would fit at all with a thick sock). Going up a half size feels like the wrong solution here as I want a tad more width in the toe box but not extra length. Lastly, the Vivo website makes these look very white and they are definitely more of a cream, off white color. I am disappointed to send these back but they are too expensive to break in and hope that they end up working out.
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience, Rafael. I appreciate your considered response, and I completely understand your grievances. I also relate to the fit issue. It would be great to have a bit more room in the toe box without having to size up, as that changes the overall length, which isn’t the area that requires adjustment in my experience. Have you tried wearing them without the insole? Although for me, unfortunately, that didn’t solve the issue. It changed how my foot nestled in the shoe and exacerbated the heel rubbing as it modified how my ankle interacted with the shoe. Sorry you've experienced these issues. I really hope they work out for you 🙏🏻. Hopefully, you still have the rest of the 100-day trial to make sure you're completely happy with them
