Garrow Kedigian's Stunning Colorful Traditional Home

- Montreal- and New York-based designer Garrow Kedigian is known for his fearless use of pattern and color. Tour inside his luxurious and layered Montreal home that will have you craving a fresh coat of paint.
Built in the 1920s by a British architect, Garrow’s home is inspired by terraced houses in London. The 5,500-square-foot space features a gracious living room with symmetrical black-framed windows, grand furniture, a fireplace and a geometric Greek key carpet. To enhance the beautiful architecture - thanks to high ceilings, wall panelling and crown molding - Garrow painted the walls in rich, saturated hues. The multi-purpose dining space is painted a deep teal, while a dining banquette with a modern glass-top table keeps the room airy and light. In the small, but efficient kitchen, black-painted cabinets and a mirrored backsplash add personality. Up the impressive staircase is a master suite, which has a regal four-poster canopy bed, and a charming sitting room. A hidden third floor houses Garrow’s “writing room” with chalk-panel walls, and a guest bedroom that plays with color.

That is gorgeous, such a tastefully designed intricate decor without being gaudy! I love the guest bedroom and the dining room with the yellow banquet.

Oh god. Everyone is going to love it. Who sits on a sofa at the dining table. That spare bedroom unsleepable bed. The chalk room, no one could work at that desk. It's an unlivable art piece.

Wonderful. I love the gold amber walls,would love to know what color that is.The only paint color I don't care for was in the kitchen(too dark). But we don't have to like it. Anyway, well done; classic but livable and grand.

Kedigian is SO RIGHT when he talks about putting color on the walls. The realtor tendency to want everything beige or gray nowadays has had the effect of making most homes in the US uniformly boring and unattractive. Too many people seem to think, nowadays, that furnishings make the room, but furnishings only make half the room. Without color, which creates and evokes mood, the room is only half done. Without color, there is NEVER a wow factor! Canadians understand this much more than Americans.
Ummmm, this channel features entirely Canadian designers and houses. And they are 90% colorLESS. Canadians only seem to know the black of night sky, and the white of snow.
