Know your fish! If you want to catch a specific fish, to tick off your bucket list or for the table, you need to watch our series of "Species" videos. The Kingfisher's very own Marine Biologist, Mike Dyer shares his knowledge on this very exciting fish specie. A pelagic specie found mostly in our KZN waters stretching as far north as Kenya. It can be a very fussy feeder or "it will throw caution to the wind and eat a whole mackerel."

I haven't tried spinning for them from the shore yet but was lucky enough to have caught a nice one years ago in the harbor with a live bait trying for Rockcod, kinggies and springer.. I won't ever forget that day👍

Well done for getting one! I target them on the kayak, but I really want one from the beach/rocks. I have seen them in the harbour but haven't been lucky enough to get one. Maybe my favorite pelagic specie.

I would love to fish from a kayak or jet ski or even a boat but I get scared of the thought of getting sea sick🙈 I went out on boat in the harbor twice and wasn't that bad but once on a backline Tripp the north eastly was busting and the swell was like a washing machine so we didn't even stay out more than 30 minutes lol so from then all my fishing is done of the shore only😁
