I think this is more apathy than sympathy for phos. They've been alone for such a long time and suffered for so long. What will happen if they prolong this senseless war? Why go on and continue to suffer? Why continue this? Phos wants nothingness, the lunarians want nothingness, so there's no point in being angry. From the very beginning, phos has been a kind child. This was the only thing that's left of them and this last act, is one of kindness.
Why? Get rid of them and burn down the bridge that connect the past with presence and restart completely. I don't think Phos will be alone for ever after they're all gone.
Ayo, i think that the fact that she prayed for them it's just a punch in the face, imagine you betraying someone and then after this he's whiling to do something so gentlle for you. she literily said "i don't care, lets just end this" and i love Enma almost crying in his words
I mean. With the heavy influences of buddhism in this series it makes sense theme wise that phos has achieved enlightenment and forgave everyone who's wronged them. To prey and send everyone away in a way does rid phos of everyone that wronged them. So while I personally wanted more of phos getting justice for being treated so awfully. In the end being so just done with everyone that just giving them what they want so you can be alone I get. But depending on how much story is left this would be a pretty lack luster ending for me. I was expecting a lot more of kongos memories before we got a scene like this. But at this point I'm waiting to see what comes next to finalize feelings on what these last few chapters mean to me.
@@Eris-7979 well in the beginning Phos was very weak and everyone kind of talked down to her for something she couldn't change. She was purposeless for a long time in her group. Then when she finally starts to become more capable she realizes that something is wrong and seeks answers to why they have to suffer. In that search others start to not trust her when all she wants is the truth. She then finds the truth and tries to get the others in her side but most turn against her and those who do join her end up abandoning her once they get their own slice of heaven and we find out actual phos has been manipulated the entire series to fulfill someone else's goal, she was lied to and made to be the bad guy to almost everyone and in the end after she realizes she's been used she again is left alone while not everyone she knows goes and finds paradise and she is... alone.
They are just lucky that Phos is so kind. I don't think I liked how they pray for the people who hurt them but yeah. They're definitely lucky that Phos doesn't seek vengeance and Phos is such a kind hearted gem
"the most human emotion is revenge". phos is no longer human, they are more, and if the most human emotion is revenge, then the most inhuman emotion is forgiveness i realized it after multiple reading, phos is more than a human, a gem or a lunarian, they are a god, and by enlightment , they achieved forgiveness
Tbh there is no thematic reason why sensei should’ve joined the Lunarians, he should’ve just “died” when pho orders him to self destruct. I can see why the other gems would be ok with the idea of letting pho suffer on earth while they party on the moon, since to them pho is just some old acquaintance and a traitor. But i can’t picture Kongo, who loves all gems deeply and unconditionally, be at peace with himself letting one of his gem experience pain for 10000 years for kongo’s own benefit. Really ruined Kongo’s character for me.
A part of me wishes Pho had at least talked to them before praying. But I think this fits them. Hopefully this introduces a new start for Pho, and hopefully some better friends.
tbh I liked that chapter as well bc it is just the very end of everything and I love how they make a reference to the first chapter I espacially love how much and am surprised how much phos changed however they kept reminding the reader of how much she change by putting in the old version of her like in chapter 92 (I guess) and this chapter. also I like the expression in the face of the leader of the lunarians and sensei when they say thank you bc even tho you can only see half of their faces you can see how grateful they are and the "nuke part" fits perfectly with the sentence "sending to nothingness" bc after phos prays nothing but white on earth is seen no ocean, no land, no people a perfect bridge to nothingness
I got major Femto/griffith vibes from this chapter. even the halo behind phos' head looks just like the start of the eclipse in berserk. maybe alluding to a not so happy ending
I think a big statement I heard was that vengeance is the most human emotion, but phos has ascended beyond humanity, and forgiveness is the least human emotion

Starting to think this chapter is just a , like dream phos has. Like dreaming this is one possible thing they can do as a God. I just can't see how this is actually the end as a lot has been left up in the air and Ichikawa hasn't let us down before. One of the things still left open is Rutile and Padparadscha. They said how they seem to be not seeing eye to eye anymore and we haven't seen anything of padparadscha since she used herself as bait to let phos return to the moon. After the part of her offering her shard to Rutile to use to try and cure her themselves, and that plot seemingly abandoned now that everyone is a lunarian I think that we're going to get more. That or that bit of them being broken up is to show just how much the former gems have changed and now no longer care about each other as much as they did. Maybe to show how with an easy life they've drifted apart and could be taken as a jab at modern relationships and such. Could be digging too deep into this but with this series I doubt it.
