This was outstanding and something I will have to watch again. I do cycling about 70 - 100 miles a week and still find that on carnivore that I can't drop the weight. I'm stronger, fitter, and healthier but the body composition is not where I want it. Plus I am 58 years old. Not to mention the emotional side of food. Such a great interview so thanks again. PS He mentioned some else's book at around the 48-minute mark but his accent was too heavy for me to understand it. Anyone know who he was mentioning there? It's not in the show notes.
Good interview. I wish he elaborated on why he thinks vegetables are beneficial.... Like what is in veggies that we can't get in meat? Just curious. Like maybe its easier to get magnesium or something. Just expanded on the thought would have been helpful
Contrary to what he said about carbs having no benefits i believe not everyone does well with ketosis and therefore carbs or high protein/moderate fat can help your electrolyte balance.
I had issues with high fat. I tried high fat for one year and could no longer lie to myself... I added fruit, honey, white rice and very very seldomly yams
@@NutritionwithJudy i honestly couldn't figure it out. I was high fat (beef suet to supplement) for a year maybe more and i just couldn't adapt. My stomach couldn't tolerate and i got cramps. Now i feel the same benefits as keto but enjoy a bit more diversity in my diet. I did supplement electrolytes and salt but still got cramps. I think id still eat carbs but if i could figure out my issues i would certainly do it again for a month or 2 every year. I think a winter keto cycle makes evolutionary sense.

Carbs don't contain toxins but Plant foods do. Having interviewed a lot of experts from keto/carnivore community I'd expect her to pay better attention and well equip herself. But it is what it is.
He had me UNTIL he compared veganism and carnivore in the same sentence. Due to my love of animals, I ate vegan about 7 times over 30 years, and no matter what I did, I never got all my nutrients, causing major deficiencies and issues (I thought I was doing it wrong, lol). So, I did it 7 different ways to try to make it work, and was never a junk food vegan. I did it thoughtfully, and deliberately, to make sure my health didn't suffer, and it went off the rails EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Now, I'm ketovore, with zero deficiencies, and I feel incredible. Plants DESTROYED my digestion, among MANY MANY other things, and there isn't even access to the nutrients due to all the antinutrients impeding absorption, etc. Judy, why didn't you touch upon that with him? A book called "Fiber Menace" is a must read for Menno, to wake him up. He also brought up organ meats, which we know are a detriment (liver and kidney with all their vitamin A). He discredited himself with his ignorance, and now I don't trust anything he said. Meh. 👎
This was great Judy! Muscle is the organ of longevity! More women need to strength train !
Excellent interview. Thank you! I really appreciate the reinforcing info around resistance vs cardio training.
Basically EVERYTHING we were told about every aspect of health is wrong… so many red pills the last few years 🙃
Another great resistance training resource is the Mind Pump podcast. Those guys have a lot of experience after decades of coaching people.
love Menno. Dr Judy asked all the right questions - her communication skills and clarity are outstanding! 👏🏽
Awesome Talk. Thank you so much.. :) I learn so much :)
Jay Vincent advocates for High Intensity Training and is the most knowledgeable fitness person. It would be awesome if you interviewed him sometime.
Amazing!!! Thanks.
Good interview. I noticed you have outlined all The topics in the intro, why not add time stamps for quick access.
Who is the coach/author that Menno mentioned around 48:25?

@@NutritionwithJudy thanks Judy.
What about vegetables that are fruit like zucchini, cucumbers, avocado, pepper, tomato?
I love Menno's work
@@TM-qh6xh he said yes to fruit vegetables
Big fan of menno, he is the only one I listen too along eric helms.
Ugh muscel cramps help. Yes I take potassium and magnesium and now added salt back.

She said toxins in carbs . As a scientist and I’m sure to menno as well this is like nails yo a chalkboard

Couldn't agree more. His comment on carnivore is so ignorant that it calls into question the credibility of other things he's said.

I like that he said sex differences, not gender differences 👏
remember back in the good ole day when they were the same?...
They're the same
@@tserevenadYou mean when someone with a penis was a male and someone with a vagina was a female? Ahh, back when life was simple. 😀

One thing I cannot agree with. Veggies are what? Nutritious and satiating based on....science??? Sorry Menno, but you're SO wrong about this one.
