The pocket doors and fireplace mantle alone are worth $58,000. You see very few houses like this in Florida because the tropical climate keeps termites so darn happy. In northern states it gets cold enough to kill them off or at least keep them at bay. I like the current color on the house but lilac and white would look great, too-like something right out of Mary Poppins and Cherry Tree Lane. 😊
Obviously I'm partial to yellow houses, but yes, I could see a beautiful periwinkle/lilac color. It's amazing to me how old modest homes have so much fanciness. Nowadays everything is plain plain plain -- and folks rip out the fanciness to put in the plain! HGTV is a scourge. Even old mouldings are round and chunky and the newer ones with the same profile are flatter. Thank you, once again, for this channel.
What an amazing home, i grew up in a house that had pocket doors, crown moldings, not as tall moldings & doors but the same designs. Our kitchen had a small cabinet that held a large sink & 2 door cabinet that hung on the wall above the sink for our dishes, the silverware went in a drawer below the sink. Tho best thing about our house was our pantry it went floor to ceiling, the bottom half was all drawers of different sizes which stopped at my waist about 4 1/2 ft , there was pull out wooden cutting boards every 2 1/2 drawers, then from the stop of the drawers up to the ceiling were shelves of all different sizes to store all sorts of items, cookware, bakeware, food- cans, containers for rice, pasta etc. It was just amazing ! My color choice is either how it looks now, or white with black trim, or the grey with black trim. I'd absolutely want to restore it to it's former glory since some of it is still there in the woodworking, pocket doors, the kitchen has a great size, room for lots more storage.
Such a lovely lady! When you asked what color do you see her I said out loud.. soft lavender!😂😂before you even said what you would paint it! We must be soul sisters for sure!😊
The workshop is truly such a bonus!! Bill would be in heaven to spread out his tools and be organized! Appreciate all that you and Kevin do share these gems with us all ♥️
Lovely little house. I definetly see it in a custard yellow in the lower portion with a deeper yellow on the upper and keep the white trim. Don't forget the flowers!
wow what a beauty! The upstairs has so much potential. I see her as blue but lilac would be stunning! Also if anyone has priced having a shop built lately, the shop is so worth it!
The woodwork and hardware in this house makes it well worth the purchase price. There has to be someone who would want to fix this place up and love it.
Nobody in this world can show a house in such beautiful detail quite like you my Dear Laine you are the best. I just love this house too thank you for all your hours of hard work Honey. You and Kevin are just amazing, you make each other strong and that's so good to see these days!!!
In LOVE!!!! What an adorable house!!! Lilac Is a great color, but I think a Sunny yellow could be lovely too. Makes me wish we were living State side right now.
Ohhhh, I love this house! All of the original features are just toppings on the ice cream!! And from the looks of it, this house would be rather easy to rearrange and bring it back to its beautiful self. I agree with a downstairs master suite and a 1/2 bath for guest, 2 large bedrooms upstairs with a beautiful shared bathroom. The kitchen definitely needs some work, but as it sits, it is functional. I think the first thing I would do would be the upstairs, then work my way down. As for her color, I like the lilac idea, but I see her dressed in Sunny Yellow.
I love the hardwood floors and the pocket doors. I can see the potential in the house and how beautiful it could be and if you had been around 50 yrs ago I would be in the market for an older home to make my own.
Gorgeous! Im personally one for preserving as much as possible of the original elements. Liked the hutch. The mantle. The interior door and window wood frames and sliding doors. The wood floors. The hardware. The slanted ceiling in the second floor. The wood details outside with the posts and roof and color... lovely fairytale countryside house all over. Also the huge garage! Thank you for showing.
i see her as yellow with white trim. 💛🤍 she's adorable and i'm so impressed that so much of the original elements are still intact and i LOVE that the woodwork isn't painted! 😁
Absolutely FANTASTIC and the workshop is amazingly useful...a tremendous asset to a project .....part of it could be made into an art studio someday...
Laine, I absolutely adore your videos and truly appreciate your knowledge and expertise with regard to architecture. I appreciate how hard you and Kevin work to preserve history and frankly, I don’t give a rat’s Fanny what you wear or how your hair looks! Love you guys!
I would love a little Victorian like that. I'd likely paint it a sunny yellow, not too loud. I do so hope someone rescues it. As our society moves more toward teleworking (like I do), perhaps more fading treasures like this will be spared from dereliction, because people can live wherever they want instead of near high density areas, as long as there is internet available.
I also see it in a light lilac! Purple and Victorian homes are my favorites and I can't see this home painted any other color! If this home was a little more southwest, I would buy it today! Thanks for sharing Lane! 😍
Oh my goodness I wish it were in North Alabama I would have to try and get it. That is an excellent price on this property. She is a beautiful diamond in the rough. God bless 😊
OMG! You picked lilac as the color and that was the FIRST color that came to my mind too! I buy anything in lilac though. I would love to have this house!
Butter cream !!! Cute house!! Upstairs suite with master closet and master bath and sitting room then downstairs office and family game room. One bed 2 bath have much market value lol
I love this house and the workshop. I was born in Alabama and I have lots of family still there. I would buy this property in a heartbeat if I only had the money. I love watching all of these beautiful old homes from another era.
You need to take a Midwest road trip and vistis us Yankees up ine Indiana and Michigan. Stop in our shop (load up your truck) and visit some of the great little riverfront towns along the Wabash
They often dropped the ceilings and sometimes put paneling over the wall plaster when they added electrical and plumbing in the older farmhouses, so plaster repair is sometimes required. Surprisingly my uncle kept the acoustic tile drop ceiling when he renovated his farmhouse kitchen.
Oh, if I could just convince my roomie to move west, this would be the perfect place for us to settle into and work on as we have time and money. Looks like the sort of project you can live in *as* you do the bit of work it needs.
I just love it and I wish I could purchase it, renovate it and live in it for the rest of my life but at my age that is just not an option. It is as cute as can be and could just be gorgeous!
There are many lovely homes like this in the rural Midwest. Kane, IL is only an hour away from St Louis, but unfortunately has no information infrastructure for working professionals and families. (Think internet- only options are super slow DSL and satellite.)
Absolutely beautiful house!! I was so amazed at all the beautiful wood floors and wood work that wasn’t painted over!! If I wasn’t disabled, I’d love to live there! I like the color and trim that it has! Just needs to be spruced up! I was concerned about that roof over the front porch, as it looks like it’s sagging!
I wish I was in the market to buy a house. The Up house would be a lovely place to repair and live. I hope it gets a good owner. Do you follow up on these homes? It would be nice to know if it sells and what they do with it. Thanks for sharing.
That is such a find! If she were mine, I would paint her two tones of yellow. So beautiful! Did you purchase this and will it be fixed up on your channel? I totally would love the space around her too. I don't like cities and this is just so charming.

Oh, how beautiful! The view alone is worth it! My color choice? Butter yellow!
That would be gorgeous
Beautiful choice!
@@cariemorgangraff4829 My dream home is a yellow victorian with green trim and door!
nice choice of color ;) ill add canary yellow and sage green for accent
Me, too!
It's an adorable house, looks like a doll house.
Love all the original features and... unpainted woodwork!
I actually like the current color of the house 💙
Me too. Charming color
@@janpritchard8796 Yes!! 😊
So do I. I would paint the front door a soft yellow.
Me too👍
Me too, I love it 😂
So beautiful and charming. It’s a tiny Victorian but it’s got all that elegance.
What a beautiful Victorian. Love all the original molding, pocket doors, and hardware. I hope someone will give it the love that it needs.

I like the current color! I wish I was 20 yrs younger...I would be moving! 🥰

Thank you my friend!!!
@@OurRestorationNation guys please check out the historical Lynne wood hall Pennsylvania . It's in brink of demolition
A soft baby yellow and lots of flowers and roses outside around the house and in a garden!
Lovely little house. I definetly see it in a custard yellow in the lower portion with a deeper yellow on the upper and keep the white trim. Don't forget the flowers!
That is how I envisioned it too.
wow what a beauty! The upstairs has so much potential. I see her as blue but lilac would be stunning! Also if anyone has priced having a shop built lately, the shop is so worth it!
This house is stunning. The doors and hardware that are still intact are so beautiful. Houses like this were built to last.
How fortunate no one painted that lovely woodwork
The woodwork and hardware in this house makes it well worth the purchase price. There has to be someone who would want to fix this place up and love it.
The moment i saw the thumbnail, i said "this is a beautiful home" i actually like it in its current color.
Another fabulous find….a precious doll house! Thanks guys! 💚💜
I'd paint her yellow. Love this house.
Nobody in this world can show a house in such beautiful detail quite like you my Dear Laine you are the best. I just love this house too thank you for all your hours of hard work Honey. You and Kevin are just amazing, you make each other strong and that's so good to see these days!!!
Thank you so much Teresa!
I love the idea of lilac! Great little house for a great little price 😊
In LOVE!!!! What an adorable house!!! Lilac Is a great color, but I think a Sunny yellow could be lovely too. Makes me wish we were living State side right now.
Love it! Cream with lilac and green trim would work for me .
Lovely charmer and so glad to hear the commentary again!
I'd buy her in a heartbeat if I were looking in the area! She's in my price range, and the work she needs looks manageable.

That is an amazing deal and an amazing opportunity. I hope who ever buys this house will see the beauty and restore it to its original state.
Gorgeous! Im personally one for preserving as much as possible of the original elements. Liked the hutch. The mantle. The interior door and window wood frames and sliding doors. The wood floors. I agree…lilac would be soo beautiful!!! Wish I were 40 years younger to tackle another home!!❤️👵🏼
What a lovely home! Wonderful to see how many original features have remained.
i see her as yellow with white trim. 💛🤍 she's adorable and i'm so impressed that so much of the original elements are still intact and i LOVE that the woodwork isn't painted! 😁
Yes yellow with white trim and white picket fence with trellis over walkway.
Absolutely FANTASTIC and the workshop is amazingly useful...a tremendous asset to a project .....part of it could be made into an art studio someday...
What a cutie! Oooo lilac would be pretty, too! I was thinking a real soft, barely there pink, with that gray trim. Oh if only I were younger!
I wouldn't have thought of lilac....but I can definitely see that, it would be stunning!

Magnificent woodwork.
I think it would be beautiful as a Navy blue with the white trim. Could be a super beauty.
Butter cream !!! Cute house!! Upstairs suite with master closet and master bath and sitting room then downstairs office and family game room. One bed 2 bath have much market value lol
You guys have the BEST jobs!! I realize it's not easy, and you'd better be fit, but really, you do such a beautiful job .❤
Absolutely love the color as is💙
My heart just dropped , I'm so in LOVE.............
love it! Pale and daffodil yellow.
Love, love, LOVE this!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Oh yes, lilac would be perfect.
Love all that beautiful hardware.
Would love to see it after it is restored.
That cabinet in the kitchen! Wow.
Deep cream and darker shade of green for trim.
Like the red door.
Laine, lilac it is! 🥰 perfect color!
I love this house and the workshop. I was born in Alabama and I have lots of family still there. I would buy this property in a heartbeat if I only had the money. I love watching all of these beautiful old homes from another era.
I think the home is in Illinois but she accidentally said Kane Alabama at the end.
Wowza!!!? Love this so much ! Thanks for all you do guys💋
Now that’s a beauty. I’d buy just for the pocket doors. Unfortunately my hubby is not in a place to move again. Soon..
Oooh lilac would be gorgeous! Love this house. And by the way you look adorable in this video. I love that top you are wearing!
Light butter yellow
Love this, and lilac/ pale violet would be a lovely color with a nice white trim. I'm a blue lover though
So much potential!! Charming lil home 💕
The Victorian kitchen would look great with a LA Corneau stove/oven for a dated look. The Eastlake however is priceless, the woodwork, oh la la!
Baby powder blue just like the sky I love this house it really is cute
You need to take a Midwest road trip and vistis us Yankees up ine Indiana and Michigan. Stop in our shop (load up your truck) and visit some of the great little riverfront towns along the Wabash
Gorgeous little house.
Light peach with a soft mint green trim. keep the gingerbread white, cedar Victorian shingles in gables
Lovely little house . Very nice. Enjoyed.

I was seeing a lighter purple too! I dearly wish there was a property like this in my area!
What a beautiful Victorian home, it has so much potential! My husband and I would buy this in a heart beat. unfortunately we don’t live in Illinois. 😅
I see so much potential for this home and that super large building omg the things that you can do is countless ❤❤❤
Love that it is not in town with houses close together.
Omg this is like house on old movies,so classiiccc

I don't want to move to the US but if I could afford this, I WOULD in a heartbeat.
Lilac works for me or a bolder rose pink. This house is lovely I’m already redoing it in my head.
Cornflower yellow with white & burgundy trim
How lovely!!! I could live there for sure
The gable porch roof needs a hip return to mimic the return on the left side. Symmetry would really look great on that side.
Love, love, love this house! What a steal!
I wish I was in the market to buy a house. The Up house would be a lovely place to repair and live. I hope it gets a good owner. Do you follow up on these homes?
It would be nice to know if it sells and what they do with it.

What an adorable house! I’d paint blue or yellow!

We didn’t purchase this. We are trying to get to all the ones we have now before buying anything new.
@@OurRestorationNation but it's so beautiful! Must be hard to pass up! 😁
Light yellow or a blue similar to what she is now. I think yellow would be super cute though.
That is a steal and beautiful. I would love that.
Great video!! I would definitely paint her blue, trimmed in white with a red front door!💙
Pink, but lilac or lavender would also be good
Yellow, blue, and green!!
I would love this house.
I would love to see if anyone bought her and fixed her up. I absolutely love this house and all your ideas
