Two questions: What exactly are you doing in step 5? How does one lock the tonneau cover after you manually lower the roof? In the video, the tonneau is unlocked, with a gap.
Hey, I'm currently trying to close the roof manually. Because of that, I'm unable to perform steps 4-5 as the roof is in its storage compartment, covering the openings to those hinges. How did you close the roof back up without having access to those areas?
1. Open the boot 2. pull two levers from both sides 3. open boot top roof cover 4. Fold the roof (you have to turn the three bolts with a SAAB roof tool 5. close the roof 6. close boot top roof cover 7. push two levers from the second step in the boot
Okay so the second step. The two things on both sides what am I looking for their in the back seat covers because I cant find them are they star bits or are they star bits with a hole in the center....
I found it. I went to Autozone and borrowed bits until it fit. Its a T50 bit and the holes in the center under a little cap for the front part, and then for the sides I dont have to do anything to them like in yours.... I literally loosen the front star bit (T50) and then push the clamps for the Tonneu cover, sorry if spelled wrong, and then lift T cover then drop top into T cover hole and replace the T cover.

to lift the top to open the roof again, use a suction cup (one with a handle used to pick up glass). lots of places to get them, but here is on www.opentip.com/search.php?cPath=9918&products_id=4179538&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsvrpBRCsARIsAKBR_0IcCaimQhXil-AIxpBnVBhpmc7MHGxlOMAXd7Eeb8Qv4HQLN6Nk3vgaAnVZEALw_wcB
After I do all that. Mine screen gives me the "please close convertible storage door completely before driving" it is supposed to click shut, therefore engaging the sensor?
@@Roxenberg yeah having a bad time with mine at the min,I maybe lifted the rear when I hadn’t got those pulled,it that the thin metal rods? Or something else
i need help! i opened roof on manual operation. i cant close again. I cant open metal mechanical part. its like close. i try opening ,so, i cant. Minute 1.40.video. :( I need help , thanks
You need to flush through the seals they have little pockets of airflow that should drain, you could also use wax/petroleum jelly that help water run off
Don’t know why his messing around under roof storage hanging bit putting hands on metal mechanical part, there are two handles in the little removable boot trim pieces near lights just push in simple it even shows this in owners manual
You are correct to a point. The emergency wire push rods are accessible to the rear, however, like many have found, the working end of the push rods are detached and do nothing.
Practically useless - combination of shaley camera, sunlight and filing fr behind him means you can't actually see what he's doing under headliner and in the boot.
Dude, thank you soooo much i tired doing and got stuck but great video
this is the first video about it. I find nothing before :-)
You basically free all hydraulics I'd imagine good video

Press the same hinge you did that unlocked it earlier in the process, you will feel it lock and gap will be gone.
@@mrdaviso Hi. I'm having difficulty getting to those hinges with the top down. Can't seem to reach them with the top taking up so much of the trunk.
@@JamesGodish it's a stretch, you can get in between the top and the fender well instead of under the top.
@@mrdaviso great I’ll give it another shot tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

start bits with a hole in the center, just look under a soft inside upholstery (left and right sides)

What is the part called where you have to tighten the bolt to completely tighten to close the top? Is it replaceable?
You can find it in the boot near wheels wrench

you need to close the back of the roof above the trunk. Look 0:59 and do the reverse.
Mines won’t click in after put down.
Trying this today on my 2003 will it work in this year of the car?
I don't know mate, my car is 2004, try it, might help

Under the upholstery on the right and left of each side there is a lever holding the top metal cover

Creative.. but pity one can’t see the ‘actual’ things you touch because your hand or the sun is in the way..
My pieces are broken as well
I already have my top released but I can’t get the cover to pop up. Is that what the “star” wrench is for on the sides?
Try looking in the trunk next to or inside the spare tire

This is definitely not the way to open my 9-3. Misleading title.

Thank you for your comment! The car has been sold a few years ago, I know the video is not perfect.
Ruined by music
over produced, low on content
how about more focus on what you're moving and let on how you look doing it?
Shame you put more effort into making an "edgy" video than actually showing what needs to be done.
Make your own video, if you can ;-)
Dude! So harsh. Lets work on being kind and generous.
