thanks, i did not know about the roll paper curl problems. i will try letting the paper lay flat for a few days after cutting.

Some paper is worse than others and the small core size of some 13" rolls does not help

Hey Keith always a pleasure watching your videos, a while back I made a comment on a video of yours regarding a card project i was getting in to, well after tireless hours shredding my hairline I've learned a lot about the production of trading cards, from cutting to printing and assembly. HOWEVER, I've finally dialed in for the most part, my process and just as I feel I've got it, my prints start coming out cock-eyed at the bottom of my page, just the bottom of my page, the margins at the top of the page seem to be accurate but the margins at the bottom are off, its quite strange! Anyways I was hoping that this might be video fodder for you and then I could learn about what I'm messing up if its loading the paper, or is a wheel getting slowed down or... idk, its why I'm here. Have a great day, and thank you in advance.

Thanks, but I'm afraid the 18100 has gone back to Epson
Changes normally come from rollers needing cleaning, but I can't check...

@@KeithCooper Oh sorry, I'm printing on a Canon Pixma G650 I just noticed in this video you talked about the border of the images, I'll look into cleaning my rollers thank you, I felt it had something to do with that like it was getting hung up on something.

@@KeithCooper as it turns out, 300 gsm glossy photo paper is a bit much for the Canon Pixma G650. That was my problem, I apologize for printing ineptitude I'm just new to this entire venture, and well its really a lot to learn with out a guiding hand. I ended up running a sheet of plain printing paper with the same print setting to see if the paper or the roller was my problem and huzzah it was the paper, I much prefer dialing back my paper selection than having something wrong with my roller. Thank you for your time and consideration of a young printers troubles.

HI Keith, spent about a good hour watching your videos this evening and the info has helped a lot. I'm needing a printer that would print A4 sized labels in colour with good quality (the paper would be nothing special, matte about 110gsm), I assumed a photo printer like this would be best but what would you recommend, photo printers, inkjet or laser? And even better, is there a model you would recommend?

Plain non-inkjet paper? - a laser is often better than an ink-jet like this
No inkjet printers really do well on non-inkjet papers - a four colour one would be as good as one like this
One option might be this: the WF-C8690

This is the only model of this range I looked at - but you should get the idea from the review.

I don't think that printer is available in Australia either.
This from Tech Radar 27/3/2023 - "Currently, the ET-18100 isn’t a Global design and has been only released in all EMEA markets, but not Canada, US, Australia or New Zealand."

Thanks for the info - I think it deserves a larger market [if you like glossy colour prints...]

It might well be - I'd not seen it.
