    On the rear shocks, what size washers did you use to make for the stock shock width? I have the exact same brand coilovers, this video was a big help 👍🏻👍🏻

      To get the back of the car lower on coil overs you need remove the rear spring adjusters.
      Also the lower rear shock bolt / mount has the spacer on the inside for a reason.
      Also the front anti roll bar links should still be mounted to the lower arms to keep the correct roll resistance.
      How much were the coil overs, I’m guessing pretty cheap ?
      Keep up the good work 👍🏻

      @@Bobafixit Hi Robert, I hope you are well today? Yes I thought the same thing about the hight adjusters. Oh ok I might put the thick washer on the inside of the shock so it is closer to the hub? Yes the coilover kit was a cheap budget kit from TA Technics. I am really impressed with the quality of the kit for the price, it cost me £235. Not a lot of companies make modified parts for the Z3. I have heard that the rear shock mounts need to be stronger so I might look into that a little more. Thank you and I hope you enjoy watching my future videos on the Z3 😁👍

    Just about to buy the same coilovers for my Z3 and just wondered how you'd been finding them? Did you just got for the lowest setting straight off? Any issues over the past year?? Cheers.

      Hi Mark, I hope you are well today? I see you are an E46 lover aswell as the Z3 👍 yes the coilovers are great, I would recommend them. I did go for the lowest setting but it hits the ground all the time but I have 16-17inch wheels on mine. If you have bigger wheels it will ride better. What size wheels do you have? The only issues I have had is the car hitting the ground and speed bumps. I will be uploading more videos soon on the cars 👍

      Hi Supreme 8, I hope you are well? I am sure I replied to your message but can't see it so will reply again lol. When you have been doing this sort of stuff for so long you end up knowing what the torques are. I will try and start adding them in my videos. I don't know the torque specs of the top of my head but they can be found on Google if you type it in or contact your local dealer and they can give you them. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

      Hi, I hope you are well today? I don't have a link for the coilovers as I ordered them from Ebay but the brand is called TA Technix and they have a great website with all of their stock. I hope this helps 👍

      Hi Wade, I hope you are well today? Sorry for the delay in uploads but it is very hard at the moment with a demanding full time job that is a 100 mile trip everyday and I have been delayed by others as having parts bespoke made and they have had problems getting the metal as steel has gone up in price and just harder to get bold of at the moment. I have made progress on the car but just been to tired after work to edit it. I will be uploading again very soon as just waiting for the new wheels to be made. You are correct I do need to upload more sorry again.

    Everybody installs coilover and nobody knows why it's supposed to be better. Why? nobody knows, its classic group think,... it must be better many do it. crazy...

    • @MintMotorGarage
      @MintMotorGarage  3 роки тому

      Hi 31acruz, it all depends on what you are wanting from your suspension. The main reason why people install coilovers is to be able to get the car lower then just changing springs as normally lowered springs are made to only lower your car around 40mm max. But with a coilover kit you can lower the car more then this. Most coilover kits can lower 70mm to 100mm. It also helps if you don't know how much you want to lower your car as you can change it to the high you like or for the wheels you have. They are also easier to install as you change the full suspension arm including shocks instead of having to use spring compressors to get your new sprint on your original arm. Also the shocks from most coilover kits are 30% stiffer then standard suspension shocks so you can hit the corners harder. Also depends on what brand of coilovers you use as you have road use ones and track use ones. I hope this helps?

    just watched the whole thing, thumbs down for me, doesn't even show you the ride afterwards or give 'any' feedback of how it affected the ride. useless.

    • @MintMotorGarage
      @MintMotorGarage  3 роки тому

      Hi 31acruz, I hope you are well? Sorry you are disappointed in my video of installing coilovers to my Z3. The reason why I have not given any feedback on the new coilover kit is because if you have watched the video previous to this one I mentioned there is a steering issue with the car and after checking the car it had broken springs, suspension component issues and also issues connected to the steering. So the suspension needed changing anyway but wouldn't be safe to drive on the road yet as the car also needed steering components changing and not much point giving feedback on a new coilover kit when the steering isn't fixed yet. I had only just bought the car. It is a budget build so the car had a lot wrong with it when I purchased it and I have to fix them issues before driving it on the road. So the video is to show people how to install coilover to your Z3. I have fallen behind on my video's as in the UK we come out of full lockdown in over a year and I have been mega busy working trying to catch up with finances so I do apologise on the slow progress on this project car. This is not a one off video I have a lot of plans for this car and a lot of content coming up to show the car from when I bought it to when it will be finished. I hope this helps and hopefully you will enjoy my future content and I will keep your comment in mind for future video's to help make my content better as I am new to UA-cam.👍
