It is much cooler leaving it looking like it does. Shiny paint jobs are typical, this car is not. It is as wonderfully unique as you are, Robert. Another great car video. Enjoyed!! 🤩👍👍
Lord have mercy Robbie. I needed to be tickled today. First at ur reactions to the loud mouth rooster numerous times then the car flying by. Again to ur rigging of the overflow coolant jug .. genius!! Then to .. well we ain't gon worry bout the back doors. It's as good as it gets. Heck people can always jump over the front seat to get out if need be I guess. 57 Chevys .. nuttin like em🥰 I'm actually surprised it gets 21mpg .. after all it's a tank!!
Yes it can be expensive, but I find it’s so much fun in the excitement in finding parts, and then the excitement of installing them on the vehicles to see the improvements and if anyone has the chance to go to the spring and fall Carlisle swap meets you should you won’t regret it
Hi Robert I had early lunch today. Wild caught salmon and a small salad. Mmmm it was good. Would love to see this car painted but as you said that would come a pretty penny. Enjoyed the video as usual Now I’ll watch Aaron build a gate. Good times 😊😊😊
It's amazing the knowledge you haven't fixing things This is coming from the guy that can hardly put a fan together Always amaze me the knowledge that you and Aaron have when it comes to putting things This is this is what made America great and does knowledge that use each carry with you to do so many things It's amazes me and just proof that how great a person can be in so many things in America long as you don't listen to the liberal lies where everybody gives you everything God bless you ✝️🛐♾️❤️👍
Boy I’ve done that a few times. I may have some 57 parts you may need. I’ve done a few. I remember you say you did VW and Porsche’s . I’ve got a hot rod channel and doing about 10 projects on there. I need some Porsche 911 sources if you have any. We are always watching you to see what’s going on. -Spanky
I was on Google maps and for fun thought I would look at the farm from the satellite view. The satellite view appears to be pre farm restoration if you want to take a look.
Nice job on those doors, I’ve been there on GM doors, Buick Rivera or Oldsmobile 88 were absolute monsters!, I spent months trying to get them level, never got the front passenger door to open from the inside, matter of fact the wife was curious why I kept opening the door for her and made her wait while I came around and opened it for her ( she thought I was just being chivalrous by insisting i open it, till like 3 months later when I had her crawl through the open window!!!) and again you need a subwoofer under the rear seat and 4 6x9’s in the rear deck and if need be you can have a Craig cassette deck attached by (1) woodscrew under the dash ( if you were around like me back in the day that’s how you rolled!!!) also how about either a wolf howling at the moon or eagle superimposed on the flag tinting said rear window. THEN you will truly be stylin & profilin in your fine fine auto mobile!!!
I'm bringing the 71 Chevy truck over. Need some help putting in a new regulator on the drivers side. Got it apart, except for one bolt on the door panel!
Robert, At the rear of the door the latch goes onto that round thing on the post, it is called a striker, look at the top of it and see if any of it is worn off. If it is you will need a star socket, barely loosen it then take a hammer and tap it down. You may need to repeat this a couple of times but that should allow it to not stick anymore.
Hey Robert I think your 57 is looking awesome I really like that engine conversion idea. In how the conversions are done because I don’t know how the engine runs in my 69 GTO
My 1967 chevy c 10 is 6 different colors n iam gonna put shiny clear on it this summer .I take it to many car shows n people loveit n try to buy it .we call um RAT RODS .God bless yall real good.
Not to disparage the history of that "staff" car, but I was more excited to think that you'd labeled it the "staff" car to denote it was designated such for the workings of the Byrd Farm project!---You know how I feel about roosters, and back when you were doing maintenance on one of your old cars at your home place, that rooster annoyed the heck out of me!---I'm wondering how you feel about greasing hinges so they don't squeal!
I just love the colours of that Chevi. Why don't you just sand down the rust and use cornstarch satin lack to cover it like they do for hot rods? (after everything else, of course) Leave some of the bluegreen paint on it. It will take on the apparition of a Peacock. Lovely. Do you watch that old car restoration UA-cam channel "Hagerty"? Don't forget to grease those squeaky hinges!.
Cool old car. Of course you could spend over 20 000 on shiny parts for it, but then you'd be driving it only when the weather is just perfect. As it is now, you can drive it everyday. As far as paint goes, personaly I dont like modern paint or metalic paints they put on classics. Maybe a spray paint for the chromed bits. Also very popular cheap solution is the wraping paper for cars. A neighbour of mine here in Europe had it done on his car. It looked so good it was just like he had it painted, and it lasted good 7 years until the thing started peeling off. Also Ive seen video on youtube with very popular American host showing cars, he had a guy with his son and their old chevy looking awesome and they had only used spray paint. Nothing expensive.
I remember an old 49 Plymouth my dad had. He used lots of graphite lube on the hinges and latches. But ... do you really want to take the squeal out of the doors?
PB BLASTER Bud on all those moving dr parts it will real, help .and I think if ya , just loosin the passenger , PB BLASTER EVERYTHING . OPEN AND CLOSE 5 times , then go in from drivers side and retighten it work perfect , back doors yer on yer own . Mines a 150 2 dr wagon . Handyman wagon .
Paint it flat black. For now till you get panels for her. Use it for a creepy cemetery visits or find an old hearse and but it on a truck frame. We all know how muddy it gets

Ah...gotta love the background commentary...lol
Other than the paint job that door is a great theft deterrent! I liked watching you fix it.

Nice to see the 57 coming along, Robert. Love the sounds of the birds on the farm. Have a great day!
Good looking automobile, can't wait to see y'all driving down those dirt roads around Talbot county.....😁😁😁
We have a tri five 57 Chevy too & are restoring it & yes a very expensive hobby but we do enjoy driving it 🛣😁
Yes it can be expensive, but I find it’s so much fun in the excitement in finding parts, and then the excitement of installing them on the vehicles to see the improvements and if anyone has the chance to go to the spring and fall Carlisle swap meets you should you won’t regret it
What an amazing thing bringing so much of the past back to life on the old Byrd Farm.Good job Robert
I love the way this paint looks too. I wouldn’t change it. It’s so cool just the way it is. Gotta love that t shirt and the matching sticker😉

I'm loving that rooster.
Love that roaster, it’s like he knows your talking, l😅
That Chevy is what is called a "Down in the weeds" car. Leave it like it is. Just fix some of the rust parts so it doesn't spread. I love it!!

Oh Robert you started my rainy day with a great laugh 😂😂😂 🤗❤️🌈🕊️
Thanks Robert the staff car should serve its purpose now.

you made her crawl through the window ? Got a little Dukes of Hazzard in you, don't you ?🤣
I let her slide across the hood before she got to that side of the car as well!!!!
I'm bringing the 71 Chevy truck over. Need some help putting in a new regulator on the drivers side. Got it apart, except for one bolt on the door panel!
Dang doors!my cockpit does the same thing

Rooster wants attention and a ride.❤
Love that rooster
Robert, love the beginning of this video where, it seems loike every few rods out of your mouth, your Roster had other plans...
You also have an alarm system!
Hey Robert I think your 57 is looking awesome I really like that engine conversion idea. In how the conversions are done because I don’t know how the engine runs in my 69 GTO
Love the natural patina.
That's a Rust Rod. Old Hard Time's Ride. It's a Driver. Just a Fun Old Car. 😎👍✌.
Awesome car❗
Are you going to have it the body fixed and painted. Are you going to rehab the interior?
Your expressions are priceless. 🦚🐓🐓🐓

Just a little bit of grease on those hinges might make a big difference. Lol

Seems like the passenger door hits the front fender near the windshield trim. Are rats inside any of the other vehicles?
It comes very, very close
No signs of rats in other vehicles
I like it as is paint wise but it would be nice to fix the rust spots.
Aloha 🌺🥰

Very interesting story 🧐
Are you going to wax it so the rust doesn't get any worse?
I'd like to know the history on the 57 check.
What's up with u.s army scared on the doors
Former US Army Staff car.
👍🇺🇸
this project was as complicated as Aarons gates
Jerry lol😂

We all know how muddy it gets
I’m looking at how that car has aged and realize it is two years younger than me. No wonder I feel so rusty.
Maybe some wd40 for the latches
put a little vaseoline or grease on those latches it'll work wonders opening and closing those squeaky doors. lol
WD40 for the squeaking doors.
