@@emfelling8384 omfg i am crying, what the hell are they doing!?!? i have run my 1997 800 for 30000km over 15 years and NEVER HAD a single problem! shouldn't have sell it for 1500$ 5 weeks ago :(:(
I got me a 90 articat prowler and i prop it up in jack stands and when i get it started i rev it to 2000 rpm for abt a min then i get the clutch engaged and i keep the track moving for another minute and it works every time she warms up nice
not cubic inch lol.. cubic centemeter. Wow let the poor thing warm up before you ride like that... definetly needs new plugs and carb tuning... should start wayyy better than that.
That engine is actually a type 809, displacing 796cc. Lots of guts...almost 160hp. Watch that PTO bearing. They were bad for burning up for lack of oil. Always loved the looks of the '97. Used to have a '97 Mach 1. Also a powerhouse.
Couple of geniuses!! Good thing you take care of your stuff .....🙄. ( mower sitting outside in the snow) Just shut that cold motor off right away, after you barely got it running.....try the choke maybe?? Battery powered vehicles were definitely invented for people like you !!! 👍
Will Mihailoff The Sled Shouldn't of took this Long to start Id probably take the carbs off and Give them a Good cleaning and Fix Your Choke Lever so it properly gives it the right amount of fuel when starting cold. My F3 Starts in 3-4 pulls. also Let the sled Run for 5-10 minutes before riding it like that.
We are planning to clean the carb. The choke lever is a tad loose so maybe that does need adjusted as well. And we usually are very careful with our sleds, like i said i have an old yamaha phazer II in perfect shape and starts right up every time i try it. This was a one time video.
Im Not saying your Beating on your sled im just saying it could use a Nice cleaning and Tune up. and doesn't matter the length he's going let it warm up make a long vid then edit
Some people are just strait assholes..vids are helpful..ya def let it warm up and check out those carbs..mach z's fucking rip..oh and every now and them if u still got it..check your oil pump cable..mine got loose and went all crazy
Good thing about my triple is that it won't move until it's warm I'm glad it's that way so it won't break anything and hurt the motor. And anyways for the triples if u don't let it sit and warm up the motor will get hot and the coolant is still really cold and will crack the motor
Im about to tear up the sound the poor old girl maked she was cold she needs to warm up and how long after this video did cold seizure finally take her life
first thing is definite starting problem, second is 20 something degrees is not "cold " for a sled and third, seems like two stroke know how is lacking, are you from Florida LOL
Why keep flicking the choke on and off..?? FULL CHOKE UNTIL IT STARTS!!!!! And that should only take 3-4 pulls in cold cold temps if carbs and plugs are right.
Gotta love the carbs pulling and pulling and pulling and pulling and pulling lmao Had a triple formula remember it well you’d be sweating like a wild man but it was worth it when she fired lord have mercy would be cool to put an efi mod on one
LOL I sold a mint condition AC mountain cat 800 2003 with 1200kms on the sled and motor. Drop it off to buddy and I started it up for him and I told him come usually I give it 10 mins like to warm up or the heat exchanger are hot to touch then she goo………… all I heard was “BRAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPP” and the sled wasn’t moving much and I run back and shit it off immediately… talkinh to him “ I thought you were walking with me!!!!!” Him “Um nook sled might get hot” I was like NOOOOOOO… but he gave me the cash and I help him load it up and left.
Such a legendary machine, but man ! 10 minutes to warm up at least. Mine has a temp gauge and I don't move it till it's warm. Man that poor sled! Didn't notice how old this video was but if it's older then 2yrs....that sled is done. Sigh..
15 degrees F and lower full choke, 15 degrees and higher half choke, usually no more than three pulls (old man) two pulls (young man). 2000 FormulaZ 600 twin. No primer.
Muzzy, in this entire thread we never mentioned that we were any type of mechanics. Please read with both eyes open next time before air passes thru your vocal cords and words magically appear. Yes I do know a lot about medicine, guns and martial arts. If you want to talk about any of those, feel free to contact me. I will always lend a helping hand to those who wants to learn.
Started on the 24th pull, took longer to start it than how long they let it warm up. I have a feeling these 2 virgins combined welfare cheques and thought this was a good investment. That machine needs a restoration and knowledgeable owner
i’ve got a vmax 700 and grew up on a venture 600, both redhead triples. Best part about them, they told you when they weren’t warm. Not with a light or sensor, but if you tried to move you could just tell. Always gotta play with the throttle a little while it’s warming up, if they go below 3,000 rpm after the cold start they won’t run right. My dads done it this way since he bought the venture new in 04’ they’re both rippers. venture has 4,200 miles and vmax had 12,000
Type in insane Machz 800 triple triple , I own the exact same one except mine set up for drag racing and I have never had to pull it more than three times to start it you definitely do not have your carbs set up properly. 1977 citation will start up within two pulls ,these guys don’t know how to maintain a snowmobile
I don't recall what you've got in the primary for ramps now, but my '00 Mach Z had 295's in it now. The '97 Mach Z had a fairly low engagement RPM. For shorter distances, you might like the 286 ramps. Combine that with a fresh green/blue primary spring, a set of adjustable pins with about 18.5g in them and a fresh secondary spring set at about 18-20lbs. You should come out of the hole then at about 4,200RPM. Make sure clutch bushing, rollers, slides, etc are in good working order. Can't stress that enough. 90% of your performance is found in the clutching. Who knows what the previous owner did, or didn't do to it?
clutching for low end power doesn't make sense with this Z. It was designed for 8000-8500rpm (8600 w the right crank bearings/mod). It's made to spin like a rotax, not a lumpy 4 stroke with gobs of "low end. See that's the trick Andrew, a two stroke triple needs to "spin". Also, this is why triples are known for kicking the shite out of two lungers after 105mph because they get spinning and have long legs.
What is the point of this video? That have a piece of shit that takes 25 pulls to get it to run and once it does instead of letting it warm up properly you rev the piss out of it, then take it for a rip across the field. No wonder it has low compression.
+Sean Jackson I get a kick out of cat guys...esp when their pissing matches turn to circle jerks...lmao. Ski-doo all the way. Wow this guys vid took it hard on the chin from every angle though. :/

Straight up…! Friken the white new balances and Dinosaur t shirts

Lucas Johnson thought the same thing😂
They don't put the cc on the end for nothing.
Best Comment yet
The kind of people that don't have a sled for long
ALWAYS give your sled 10 mins to warm up!
7 minutes or just a bit longer, I give mine 10-20 minutes especially in severe cold weather
I GIVE HIM 10 TO 15 MINUTES TO WARM UP BECAUSE IF YOU DO NOT WARM UP HIM YOU CANT BLOW UP YOUR ENGINE EASLY
Idk what y’all are on about I start mine loosen it up and take off, I’ve never had a problem lol
Wow, who not to buy a sled from

Nice sled! Always been a fan of the old triples! Sounds a little rough tho
It sounds rough because the idiots didn't let it warm up
How about letting it warm up a bit before any throttle .. 30 sec and your off ! 20sec and you hit the throttle ..dang
Good thing about my triple is that it won't move until it's warm I'm glad it's that way so it won't break anything and hurt the motor. And anyways for the triples if u don't let it sit and warm up the motor will get hot and the coolant is still really cold and will crack the motor

What's up with the way he's pulling the cord never seen anyone do that 😂
Mine starts in 2 to 4 pulls.. but I use my choke..🤣
Way to hammer on it when it's cold!!
That's a good way to score your cylinder walls. Punching it when it's cold. Causes things like...low compression. 🤔
It doesnt look like it has very good compression in the video
Poor sled hope it has a better future

That engine sounds pretty bad ass
The old mach z's are bad ass the shape of em and you can really build them things up but even stock they hall ass

Give it at least 10 minutes to warm up
It’s a cool old sled but you will never ride drunk cause you’ll burn off any buzz just trying to start it.
I'd be doing a complete look over of that whole fuel system
Listen to that growl of that monster triple
Drop a bit of oil in each cyclinder before a cold start it'll make it way easier to get compression.
Wow that starts great.......
🤣🤣🤣
May want to get it a tune up.

i got a tip for you
choke on
key off
choke on
pull two times
then key on
then pull
Still freezing cold after struggling to start and cranks on it lol.
cold start it then turn it off thats nice let it HEAT UP
804 cubic inch with a pull cord 🤣🤣🤣. I think you mean cubic centimetres my friend lol.
Got some low compression on that. Time for rings at least. Never start a sled and take off like that. Needs to warm up for min 5 min at least.
What sleds should I be careful with?
Try just ever so slightly cracking the throttle always helps me out
Gearbanger, it's engaging at approx 4200 rpms. I'd like to try and get it around 2500 if that is even possible
2500? Oh no. That simply won't do at all. You re turning it into a fair cheeked school girl machine. Lack of insight.
Maybe dont pump the gas dont it have a primer or choke? If it was running rifht should fire right up.
