    • @Gearbanger101
      @Gearbanger101 10 років тому

      I don't recall what you've got in the primary for ramps now, but my '00 Mach Z had 295's in it now. The '97 Mach Z had a fairly low engagement RPM. For shorter distances, you might like the 286 ramps. Combine that with a fresh green/blue primary spring, a set of adjustable pins with about 18.5g in them and a fresh secondary spring set at about 18-20lbs. You should come out of the hole then at about 4,200RPM. Make sure clutch bushing, rollers, slides, etc are in good working order. Can't stress that enough. 90% of your performance is found in the clutching. Who knows what the previous owner did, or didn't do to it?

    • @SRX-SSR440
      @SRX-SSR440 10 років тому +1

      ***** he should have stock 286 ramps in that.

      clutching for low end power doesn't make sense with this Z. It was designed for 8000-8500rpm (8600 w the right crank bearings/mod). It's made to spin like a rotax, not a lumpy 4 stroke with gobs of "low end. See that's the trick Andrew, a two stroke triple needs to "spin". Also, this is why triples are known for kicking the shite out of two lungers after 105mph because they get spinning and have long legs.

      i’ve got a vmax 700 and grew up on a venture 600, both redhead triples. Best part about them, they told you when they weren’t warm. Not with a light or sensor, but if you tried to move you could just tell. Always gotta play with the throttle a little while it’s warming up, if they go below 3,000 rpm after the cold start they won’t run right. My dads done it this way since he bought the venture new in 04’ they’re both rippers. venture has 4,200 miles and vmax had 12,000
