Does gaining residency in Romania (now that is is part of the Schengen zone as of this year) does this allow you to travel into other Schengen countries during your time of residency eg: we have spent 90 days in Schengen zone already say from Jan to March and you get temporary residency from April for 12 months in Romania can we go holiday in Greece for 2 weeks May, come back to Romania, then holiday in Spain for 2 weeks in June, come back to Romania, go to Italy for a week July ? Or do you have to stay in Romania the whole time and what happens when you leave Romania - do you loose residency and if going into another Schengen country do they consider that time in Romania as being in Schengen already and now overstaying ?
With residency in a Schengen country you gain Schengen access, which is a big plus to obtaining it. You may have requirements to be in the country a minimum amount of months per year depending on the country and residency type.
Hi , Very interesting video ! I am retired and I would love to know more about the requirements to retire in Romania. Is there a minimum income and/or minimum stay after the 90 days , in order to keep your retirement visa ?
Please be informed that Romania and Bulgaria joined the Schengen area on March, 31st, but only in terms of air and sea travel ! So when it comes to travelling by car, nothing changes.

Hello, I looking at retiring in Romania. I would like to talk with someone who has retired in Romania and is on Social Security from the States. I wondering how that works and the process of getting that set up.
Can you do a video for getting a US Spec car shipped from EU to Romania? How does the whole process go and what tax percentage to pay for the car to register.
If you're importing a car from a non EU country to the EU you might have to pay sales tax on it based on its current value. So basicaly 19% of what you would be able to buy/sell the car for.
Great information, thanks for that! With a digital nomad VISA in Romania and a US passport can you spend as much time as you want in other EU countries or are you subject to the 90 day rule outside of Romania?
@@WarrenJulieTravel yes, can you please put me in contact with an attorney? I would like to know more about the digital nomad process. It sounds easy online but there are requirements to apostille documents and translate them to Romanian. It seems that would take longer than the 14 days processing time quoted. Thank you again for your response and help.
For US citizens, the romanian corporation will need to be reported to the IRS on form 5471. An accountant may charge up to $1500+ per year to fill this form out
Hey Warren & Julie. I’m in Romania now for few days to explore cities and living options. This my 5th time in Romania since 2021. I found your channel very informative and Seems like Remus has the best of both worlds, understand the process and can communicate clearly in English. I would like to have his contact info or his office name and number. Thank you ❤
It was a bit hard to tell from this interview, but it sounds like there are only 2 residency visa options available to people who want to be able to stay in Romania for more than 90 days out of every 180 day period: 1) start a company in Romania or 2) be over 65 and overstay your tourist visa. I don't think I heard any other options to obtain a residency visa. Is this accurate? Also, it sounds like with both of these options, you are required to physically be in Romania for 10 months out of the year. Am I understanding that correctly? If so, that's a significant physical presence requirement, especially as a retired person who wants to travel. I guess the Romanian government really wants you to reside there if they are going to give you a residency visa, lol.
There are additional residency programs, but we focused on these two. The company option is the easiest option. You are not required to stay in Romania for 10 months per year. If you would like to ask the residency expert for more details and information please send us an email at warrenjulietravel@gmail.com and we will get you in contact with him.
I am a student in Romania can i travel to Germany with my Romanian resident permit for a one week holiday. If there is other requirements for my travel apart form my valid passport and resident permit of Romania i will love to know. Thank you
I know he said you could get residency if you were over 65 and retired, and overstayed the 90 days... but what about if you are on Social Security and maybe 62? That would clearly show you are 'retired'. And if not, are there countries where you could do it this way? I would love to travel Europe, but 90 days is way too fast, especially since it's less expensive to do slow travel.
Can you do a video with information for US citizens who want to move to Romania in regards to transfer phone service, bank accounts, receive US pension and taxes? Thanks
Has he said how many times the corporation visa can be renewed? Also, does staying on this visa help at all towards applying for permanent residency? Thanks in advance for any info on this!
There is not a limit on how many times it can be renewed. If you want to know about the permanent residency options or more in-depth questions, please email me at. Warrenjulietravel@gmail.com and I will put you in contact with Remus.
in another video he had said that in the first year one does not need to pay for national health care ($400). But here he doesn't mention that. Do you know which is true?
Here’s the reply: For the immigration procedure, in Bucharest, they do not request proof of health insurance in the first year (state health insurance), but you can make it if you want. However, there are a few immigration offices that request it in the first year (Sibiu county), therefore it depends on the budget and needs of the client.
