Oxnard by Anderson Paak. is without a doubt one of my absolute favourites- the labumthat really made me fall in love with music. Theres only 2 skips on the whole thing but it's so groovy, and the rnb/jazz/hiphop fusion is excellent with incredible production and lyrical delivery. Cheers with Q-tip is one of the best songs of all time. A must listen!
I find it funny that futura free is my favorite song on blonde it just goes to show how great of an album this is. When people can have so many varied opinions on a single body of work it’s special.
This has got to be one of the best reviews of kamikaze… I honestly think it has aged very well with the exception of stepping stone and the final 3 tracks
I listened to blame game recently. I almost cried to the beautifulness of it. The vulnerability mixed with the piano and amazing chorus that has so much feeling put into it is amazing. Was confused at the hate but the Chris rock part could’ve been cut and would’ve improved the sentiment of the song more. What a shame that it was on the song even though it’s a kind of funny novelty

🚨LONG ESSAY ALERT🚨 I think it’s the fact that it’s one of his most vulnerable moments and arguably his most ‘cinematic’ track, yes due to its length but also the structure and production of it (Jesus Lord is longer and doesn’t feel ‘cinematic in the same way). There are a couple of good video essays breaking down that song which I recommend; the main thing is that it summarises Kanye as a person very well - he recognises his faults but his ego gets in the way of him actually apologising for them. You can also tell it means a lot to him by how he changes the outros to it in his live performances to reflect is real life mood (e.g. run right back to me, Kimberly at the Hoover show), it just seems like it’s a song that’s really special to him and one he goes back to. This was the first song he performed live (at the VMAs of all places) after his exile after the tswift thing, and the boldly minimal piano intro definitely marks a big moment for his career; a return to critical and public acclaim. On a personal note, the outro is very special to me, since it feels like a cry for help/apologising to a girl or for his actions in the media, but the vocoder censoring his words is as if the receiving end is not willing to listen to what they have to say. This is good content and a great show. You guys should work on trying not to talk over each other though, and instead of pushing straight through into the next album, there should be some kind of transition or closing words. It feels kind of rushed going between albums here
