  • In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #Honda #CRV #Sport L #Hybrid then take it for a test drive. Honda adds a new Sport L Hybrid trim which brings leather seats, 4-way power seats for the passenger, front and rear parking sensor, wireless AppleCar Play plus wireless charger but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

Some fun facts. If you opt for anything lower than the Sport Touring, AWD is a $ 1500 option. (Standard on the Sport Touring). So, the price gap isn't that great between the Sport L and Touring if you want AWD. If you opt for any hybrid over the 1.5L gas turbo, you lose towing capacity (1500 in the gas only, 1000 in the hybrid). The hybrid also loses the compact spare tire (something to think about if you've ever had to call AAA and wait for assistance. The tire repair kit has limitations to small punctures, so if you are off road and gouge a sidewall, you aren't going to repair it.) The hybrid is about a $ 2k difference over similarly packaged 1.5l gas only. EPA Combined for AWD is 29 for the 1.5L and 37 for the hybrid. So, plugging in a gas price of $ 4.25 (I live in a high gas tax state), that is over 60k miles to break even on gas alone. Plus my state has an extra registration fee on hybrids (to compensate for the gas tax you are missing out on! About $ 200 a year adder for a Prius, and not sure how it works on lesser mpg hybrids). If gas is cheaper, it will take longer for the ROI, but if you do lots of city driving, it will be shorter. Granted, this doesn't factor in your carbon footprint, or the extra torque (and presumably acceleration) of the hybrid. I'm in early shopping stages to replace my '14 Forester XT, which has been a great car, and I hate to part with it in many ways (like the low 6 second 0-60 kind of power, great visibility, and reliability has been rock solid for 125K miles). But also wanting something quieter and better mpg. Sounds like Honda has upped the game on this new generation of CRV, combining good driving dynamics and quiet, with great fuel economy. I need to go look. Never been a fan of the newest RAV-4 styling. Too many creases for my taste. I've owned 4 Honda;s over my lifetime, and they have never let me down. That is over 30 years of ownership. When I bought my XT, I was a one car family, and wanted something with a bit of entertainment value to go with my utility, so there were not a lot of choices among the non-Euro SUV's. Happy shopping everyone!

Good comment - more balanced. I was getting my first car and a hybrid with the paint/interior I wanted had a 3-4 month wait when the gas was same day. So I'm kinda beating myself up about not waiting but maybe I shouldn't. 🤔

I've looked at many many reviews of the cars in this class and the Mazda 5 is usually in the top 1 or 2.
It is top in performance, drivability, power but lacks in Size and space. Also there is no hybrid option.
Looking at purchasing either the Honda or the Mazda. The main driving force behind the Honda for us is its room and being a hybrid elsewise for us the Mazda 5 pick is a no-brainer. Exceptional interior puts it in the next class up With Lexus etc.
Besides this none of the others drive as well as the Mazda 5.

If you are a tinkerer like me, try to open your so called "Bose" speaker LOL, you've been fooled, those magnet that they brand it as "Bose" is as equal as the standard Honda speaker. I have sport hybrid, my bro in law have touring hybrid and I am glad I don't get swayed by "Bose". For $500, I install Morell speaker in my crv hybrid sport myself and believe you me that puny Bose 12 speakers you have can't be compared in overall quality by morel speaker... or any decent after market speaker out there !

is the sport touring hybrid worth the money. Not sure. I live in Ontario Canada and to buy anything new is almost impossible but honda has high end crv's in stock. I had a car accident where my old honda 2015 crv was written off and although I liked the vehicle, I originally wanted to get away from honda and look for something else but everything else I had to order and wait months for it. Toyota told me that I had to wait 8 + months for a gas RAV4 or a year for a hybrid RAV4 or I could buy a used model for 10,000 over list price which was the same price as a new sport touring hybrid honda. I had a similar experience with most dealers of cars I wanted to purchase as an alternative like kia, hyundai and mazda. The Honda was made in Canada and was available but is also the most stolen car in Canada which I expect is a reason why it was so available. I chose to buy it and am happy with it but have also added third party security features to foil potential thieves. So yes its expensive, is it worth it ? Yes since there are no other cars available for purchase off the lot. Toyota also would not guarantee the price of the car when it arrived so rather than wait. I decided to go with the Honda. I did though think that Honda did a good job with the revision of this car and so far I am happy with the product.

After owning a Honda Pilot for years, i decided to look at the CRV. At 6'5", my main concern was how well I would fit in it. It is unbelievably roomy for a tall driver. Since Honda is a reliable brand, I plan to own it for years. So I bought the 2024 Touring Hybrid and couldn't be happier. The ride is very smooth with good acceleration. The 12 speaker Bose rocks.

OK.... I own the '23 Sport Touring Hybrid. This would be my 3rd CR-V. Honda makes a great vehicle in theory, and that's why I've owned so many. However, there are always things Honda conveniently leaves out, that twist up the loyal Honda customers. No Homelink garage door opener ($350, took 4 months to get the new mirror that has it). No cargo cover. (They were included with all my other CR-V's) The screen is less than most other competitors, and firmware updates are all but non existent. The charging pad for the phone is wonky, at best. Wireless CarPlay has glitchy software that at times, needs a restart. It's good to have the onboard GPS (actually uses satellites), because the mobile phone people are not always that reliable, and towers are sometimes sparse. This thing has paddle shifters!! What the hell do I need with paddle shifters??!! (and, I did confirm that they are paddle shifters, and not some way to just invoke the charging system. The braking does that) This is a hybrid, not a Ferrari! And finally, there is NO SPARE TIRE!! I didn't find this out until I I watched another UA-cam video that concerned this. I have achieved 42.5 MPG during the summer, playing with it. In the colder weather, you will get more like 34-36 MPG. Thanks for the video! Well done!

I was down to picking up a 2024 Honda CR-V or a Mazda CX-5. I went with the Mazda because I was able to get the features I wanted in a lower trim, primarily the Bose stereo. You have to go with the top Hybrid Sport Touring to get the Bose in the CR-V. I was able to get the Bose with a less expensive option, the Mazda CX-5 Turbo Premium trim but Bose is actually available in the CX-5 starting with the Carbon Edition. Besides the Bose, the Mazda came with a spare tire, ventilated seats and heads up display, features I like that are not available even on the top CR-V Sport Touring trim So more features, lower price and to top it off, Mazda was offering 0% 60 month financing vs 4.9% 60 month on the Honda. The interest adds up to a lot over 5 years. The CX-5 Turbo is quicker, but of course I gave up the much better gas mileage and extra space I would have gotten in any trim of the CR-V, gas or Hybrid, in exchange for more features and much lower price overall.

I’m not a big fav of hybrids but when companies for years make vehicles that drink gas and don’t really care to get better MPG’s something should change. I also have a tire pumps which I used, tested the tire will water to see if any bubbles, then was back on the road. It’s really not a big deal, things happen but to say a spare is the reason I will not buy a car? A lot of vehicles don’t have them now. A fun fact is Ford started playing with this and now they charge money to get a spare in which you now see other companies doing it.
