Catching Bass and a New Personal Best

- Shore fishing at Selsey catching Bass on a windy rainy day with rough seas.
Managed to get my personal best from a beach.
Tactics used were two rods fished close in using drop down pulley rigs baited with fresh lug and ragworm.
Fished the tide up and all of us caught Bass.

Hi Mike out of hospital this morning and rest for a couple of days then back at it till the next round of medical stuff.
The fish was just what I needed after 40 years 😂 and as you rightly say great to release it.

I tried to be humble on the way home 😂😂😂 and didn’t feel too bad as he always generally beats me so made a big change to catch more fish and the biggest fish 😂

Great catch Paul and thoroughly deserved. I too caught a similar size bass a couple of years ago after thinking like you I would never catch a decent fish. Well done. Good luck with the operation and I will be thinking of you as I have a bone marrow biopsy on Monday to see if I am still in remission from leukaemia. Best wishes Dave broadstairs
Hi Dave hope your biopsy is positive and is not too uncomfortable.
You will have felt the same joy catching a bass of that size and they come rarely in a lifetime of fishing.

Nice fish Paul you just never know what might turn up on a beach at Selsey. If coming to the area always worth asking in SAS whats being caught where due to tide and weather conditions. Hope your Op goes as planned on Monday🤞

Went yesterday in the rain and raging wind to Shoreham fished late afternoon into dark hoping for a ray but tough fishing with weed and weights being thrown back in to shore.
Caught a few dogfish but am going to have another crack next weekend

Hi Kevin had a couple of operations re the tedious cancer journey and has been a couple of months recovering and getting my motivation for life back.
All successfully done and my progress and prognosis is very positive according to the consultant. Regular checks going forward and hopefully no more invasive surgery 🤞
Strangely have just got up at early ridiculous o’clock to head down to Pevensey with Andy and have been looking forward to this moment.
