Thanks for the teardown. Wanted to know the insides of an active converter. Good reference vid. :)

No probs, I wanted to see what was inside, was dull but now I know.

But there is a way to modify this, isn't it? Which value capacitors should I use?

Not any that come to mind.

I thought PS/2 was supposed to be better than USB since it doesn't interrupt the CPU or something like that. No idea if that's true or not, just something I heard.

God knows. PS/2, USB does not matter. More to the point finding a converter between the two that is not shit is imposible.

I am not sure why they stopped putting legacy ports on devices. Legacy is an IT term meaning "It works" ;)

Maybe they stopped putting legacy on devices to stop 'em running away :-P

+1 just for the actual groan that inspired.

Indeed, although not all legacy is fantastic.

Some legacy standards should be kept.

Looks like not much was unveiled in that teardown except for poor build quality and poor choice of internal RC oscillator. As for that chip on board blob, it could be anything.
    ....and lastly:
104 on that capacitor means 100000pF which is 100nF or 0.1uF depending on who's money you go for. Meh! Popular jellybean.
    ;-)

There is not much to unveil, I don't have the equipment to reverse engineer the chip, plus I don't think there would be much point. I have looked it up in the past but I can never remember what the values are. It would probably be the cheapest ASIC money could buy.
