@@mossripalextechno6450 It's one of the changes PJ made that I absolutely 100% agree with. Glorfindel may be an important part of the Simarillion and of the story of the elves of Middle Earth but he has nothing to do with the story of the destruction of the One Ring apart from rescuing Frodo here and attending the Council of Elrond. Arwen has a personal connection to one of main protagonists of the story as well as an important supporting character. It made sense to put her in Glorfindel's place here.
It's the difference on whether you want to approach LOTR as a fantasy tale or as a mythological endeavour. As a tale, Arwen's inclusion is pretty good, putting it in stride with other stiries for contemporary audiences. As a Mythological endeavour, the replacement of Glorfindel is criminal, as it connects the story with the greater mythology, and signifies the active support (and involvement) of the Valar in the ring's destruction. Since PJs movies are clearly fantasy tales, she fits quite well.
Fun fact: Liv Tylor actually improvised the whole river magic spell. The fear you can see in the faces of the Nazgul is genuine fear from the actors who were not at all prepared for the floodwaters. PJ decided to leave it in because he was so impressed!

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy : one of the best movies from time to time... 🤗🤗😍😍👍👍
My favorite scene in LOTR. The tension that sets in as Arwen slowly and methodically becomes surrounded. The precision and consistency of the wraiths, as inch closer narrowing in on their masters prize. The music is outstanding, perfectly echoing what’s at stake….everything, literally the fate of the world. Arwen and her horse share an incredible bond which is showcased, however even Arwen knows that she most urge her steed to give everything and more. This scene is so intense, it’s done absolutely perfectly.
"Put this scene right up there with Moses parting The Red Sea then closing kit down on Ramsi and his men in ''The Ten Commandments.""
This is the scene that sold me on these movies. I didn't grow up with them, so when I finally got around to watching this and that choir kicked in I fell in love. Amazing movies.
Bro I’m stressseddd. They keep getting close and omgg horses are amazing
after all these years, this is still absolute amazing
Nazgul attended the prometheus school of running away from things before it was cool
Lmfao
Loved the way they introduced the Nazgul in this movie. Especially this scene how they all form up in the woods 0:27
this single scene is better than 2 seasons of the Amazon slop
This was one of the most awesome scenes ever put to screen.
A skilled horsewoman! That was a spectacular scene!
One of the best chase scenes in cinema , the build up, the score and camera work
"Nîn o Chithaeglir lasto beth daer; rimmo nín Bruinen dan in Ulaer!"
(Waters of the Misty Mountains, hear the word of power, rush, waters of Bruinen (Loudwater), against the Ringwraiths!)
This is hands down one of the greatest scenes ever created! It’s beyond amazing!!
I really love it how Arwen is a beautiful girl 😍👧 on a beautiful horse 😍🐎 rescuing Frodo and taking him somewhere to get him healed!!
When Arwen scratched her face on the tree that was Liv Tyler actually hitting one, she never broke character and insisted they keep the take and allow her to keep her scratch
She’s also Betty Ross in The Incredible Hulk.
This isn't true at all.
Eh, it was a stunt woman (Jane Abbott). Stop making things up.
And when she randomly spoke to the water they decided to keep it in
The water horses trampling the Ringwraiths is one of the first, truly magnificent shots in the film that let us know we were watching something special.
She was so good in this role.
Amazing performance. This scene scared me as a child. Those wraiths right on her tail. Love her elvish.
Love this scene. In the entire trilogy, it's at this moment Sauron is closest to acquiring the ring, a single misstep and the ring is his. The entire future of the free people hanging by the thinnest of threads...
And he didn't find out until months later. Can you imagine them giving the report😅
True.
Never gets old. One of my favorite scenes.
I know she was a different character in the book, but she made this scene epic.
Боже, как она прекрасна, моя обожаемая Лив Тайлер, самая нежная эльфийская девушка, и в жизни такая милая и скромная, она для меня как для женщины, Идеал!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
The best movie of all time
I loooove the flying change Asfaloth does when Arwen bids him "Noro-lim".
Arwen Horse Asfaloth so awesome Just like Shadowfax ❤❤
23 years later and it still gives me goosebumps, especially when Arwen calls the water. ❤
Arwen's rescue of Frodo SHOULD have been in the book- I absolutely LOVE this scene!
In the books it was another elf. They changed it in the films to make her more relevant.
Completely agree
@@mossripalextechno6450 This scene fits in seamlessly and makes perfect sense, so you'd never know it wasn't a part of the original tale unless, you'd read the book, which in both cases, is Excellent storytelling.
One the greatest movies ever made
Wishing I knew or could remember from my life a strong woman like Arwen. Very strong scene. Thanks.
This was one of my favourite scenes she is so powerful
Lord of the rings :Take me to Vatican!
Its a piece of a story, when elves were beautiful and majestic
the best time for cinema was that
Fun fact: Liv Tylor actually improvised the whole river magic spell. The fear you can see in the faces of the Nazgul is genuine fear from the actors who were not at all prepared for the floodwaters. PJ decided to leave it in because he was so impressed!
Tired meme/joke
Come on!
This is true. The only touch that PJ added in was the water horses in the rapids, the actual spell was genuine. 👍
Yeah ok, that's a bunch of lies, you're a fking troll.
If you can see the ringwraith's faces then I've got some bad news for ya 😅
Can’t imagine anyone other than Liv Tyler as Arwen’s face! The best she has done.
Has she even done anything else?
