Damiano's chest tattoo says "Il Ballo Della Vita" which means "The Life Dance", it's also the name of their second album. And yes you're right, the verses on the prechorus are meant to be questions, not statements.

You were right, all those lines were questions ("will you run towards the sun or towards darkness?" etc.. ) and i think this specific line means exactly what you said, like will you choose the path of good/light/openmindness or the path of evil/cowardice/greed.
I first heard this song when I was just about to turn 20 and it has become my comfort song ever since.. the last lines make me feel so understood, he directly tells us that even though we all have our fears and question our identity and our place in this world, we're young and we shouldn't let that pressure eat us alive. We shouldn't let society's expectations define our journey.
    love your reactions btw!!

Yes, I agree with your interpretation of the lyrics, yes they are questions. In Italian they do not change the sentence structure for questions, so you have to hear that inflection in his voice at the end of the line. Yes, he means will you go towards the light or towards the dark.

  • @liliaeth
    @liliaeth Рік тому +14

As for the sun vs the dark, I think it has more to do with Damiano's interest in the legend of Icarus. So the sun is ambition, but if you strive and reach for the risky path, there's always the risk of getting burned. While the dark is safe, but it means you're stuck, lost and you'll never achieve your ambitions.
As for the question of if Damiano still feels like he'd have achieved his dreams at Thirty... well he's still got six years before you can ask him that. 🙂
He's 24 now, and he was 22 when they performed this song.

It gives me chills every time I listen to them or I watch their performances… cause they’re just perfect! They’re so fcking talented in everything! They’re all so talented in their own way! damiano’s vocal is so powerful and beautiful and he CAN sing!! their ability to perform on stage is spectacular, like they were born for this!
And their lyrics?? INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL and meaningful !
they are not limited to one style! They are excellent in everything they do and they can do anything! And they are only in their early twenties…
And just like the lyrics, which is about being different and being yourself, and don't live just for money and leave something of yourself behind, they stayed true to themselves and were not afraid of being different, and their name will definitely live on! So proud of them 💗 ICONIC

Anyway, the song it's great and even an low key execution doesn't destroy the magic on it. Most probably in a near future they should adopt the tactic to add some choristers to their band when they play live, because the stress on Damiano's voice could downgrade the beautiness of some complicate song.
