Texas border sheriff wants to assist federal deportation operations

Sheriff Tom Schmerber of Maverick County explains how his department will go about collaborating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He says he and other border sheriffs have limited resources but still want to ensure they can assist in these operations if the federal government requests help. Schmerber says his deputies will serve in a backup role, not an immigration enforcement role.
