Tips And Comments:
- Playing Technique: Played between pickups with different dynamics (try listening to the song and pick the best intensity to follow). Just neck pickup activated
- Gear Sound: Added some overdrive in the mix for most parts. Eq has some low end and some amount of treble. For the final riff some fuzz was added too. Added finally some chorus on the final mix, just for presence
- About The Song: Fun song to play along. I think gallops need working on me, specially the muted ones. Try relaxing your arm and using more of the wrist. I maybe applied to much pressure just to get a more agressive sound. Care for finger positions in the final riff. I would have used a different position, but the original bassist uses that one (almost 100% sure).Transcribed from studio version and positions corrected with live videos.

Don't let Bellamy's otherworldly falsetto that can split the heavens make you overlook the fact that Muse songs all have incredibly effective bass tracks!
Los bajos son totalmente aplastantes
LOL Yes! When it comes to Muse, I'll always pay attention to the bassline first. Not my fault. I fully blame it on Wolstenholme.
3:22 that pick is still missing to this day
every pick that is dropped has the same fate
Legend has it that it's in geosynchronous orbit around earth.
Its just in the sound hole dont worry
James Blackwood wait a minute...
It’s in the supermassive black hole
After practicing this riff for 2 hours my right bicep is now twice the size of my left bicep
This riff, sure XD
The riff? I smell cap. 😂
those gallops are ridiculous for me at least
Try disposable heroes, by Metallica.
That song huuuuuurtss.
lol
I love how the entire bass and guitar parts matches with the concept of the videoclip with the horse galloping
I've listened to this song and played this song hundreds of times and never thought of it like that. Thats awesome
song with literally 'Knight' in its title "coincidentally" has galloping guitar/bass riff
wow
whats next? Four Horsemen from Metallica?
Adrian Do I really have to explain (even with my comment being really obvious) that I was just stating how perfect the whole concept of the song is? I wasn’t saying this as if I was the first person in the world noticing it. Get your shit together kid
@@LucasCristofolini7 holy fuck you killed him
Now that I can hear the bass parts better, I just noticed that the bass and the guitar both have the galloping rhythm to it. All this time I always thought it's only the drums
this is an amazing video, thank you so much!!
0:48 galloping
3:45 pick pluck transition
4:10 hammer on and pull off practices
You too learning that? 🤠
@@grieffinbass2056 loool yes I am finally going to learn to play this. Overcome pickphobia
@@selenicereus Me too, good luck to both of us 😅
man this chord progression is orgasmic
Muse songs have fantastic chord progressions
I feel sorry for you
EPIC!!!!! easy enough to learn, hard enough to play straight through for the novice bassist. my forearms are burning.
Try pick for the triplets and then if you can, work on the 3 finger method, ring, middle index(repeated). It'll come in handy later.
@@ShuKatashSam not if you’re steve Harris
Not easy for me to learn. The technique isn't too hard, but the later part of the intro & the verses don't follow a repeating pattern (that I can discern).
This has got to be my favourite Muse song to do on guitar, this intro is 2 minutes of awesomeness and is one of Matt Bellamy's best riffs
I like the outro riff even better.
The solo is the best written by Matt
Es buena ...tiene subidones épicos y emocionantes, pero decir que es la mejor no lo creo .. la mejor canción siempre será New Born
As I always think, the bass volume should be higher.
specifically this one too
Plug in Baby :D
Bass is probably one of the most underrated parts of songs. You need those root notes somewhere.
every bass player thinks that but actually i think bass sounds best at lower volume because thats its job, its supposed to be the low end to a song.
@@nigelpisswater484 "Low end" relates to frequency, and not volume. Bass isn't supposed to be quiet.
"Don't waste your time or time will waste you" damn that really struck me
Huset ok edgelord
Everytime I hear this song I get goosebumps of its pure awesomeness. And now I can just learn to play it myself for double goosebumps! Thanks a lot for the tabs, and great cover as always!
I can’t stop watching this cover, this my favorite song and everything was perfect! You’re super talented, and I’m glad you made this video!!!

... magic
David Amato - hehe... wait for it, waaaaaaawit for it....
gotta build up the endurance for the right arm XD
For me it's my left (chord) hand. I hyper-extended my thumb years ago and it's never been the same since. It starts the ache badly after a few songs with rapid changes.
@ProgrammedForDamage it’s a jerking off joke
I’ve been single my whole life so I’m ready lol
@@cerocero769 lmao
It’s not a hard endurance things I can’t do triplets that’s the thing if i could do triplets I could easily play this
I love how he just flicked the pick away. By the way, what bass is that its lovely
Its a taurus
He works the pick with some style, right down to the nifty disposal.
I just bought a bass guitar, guess whose videos I looked up to practice some riffs? ;)
Mogenar The Legend27's
Ian Herdt but he keeps kicking my ass!
it was never even alive, it's been forced this whole time
Anna Sentina(?)
aw thanks for the support
I've not played this song in so long and this got me to playing it today! great job!
I just played along to this without a pick and it felt like the best exercise ever. Highly recommend!
I love watching your right hand because when you’re not picking or plucking you (subconsciously I’m guessing) keep time really, really well
was amazed how well i played it the for first time thanks to the ever present tabs you supply.
Welp you nailed it. Cheers mate. Been a guitarist my entire life. Just got me a new bass a day ago and this be the first song I’m going to play haha.
Dude, your page and covers are the stuff of LEGEND!
One of my favourite muse songs
Those key changes are flawless.
Wow! That was some phenomenal playing.
You are officially the king of tone
This is the first song I fully learned on bass and surprisingly it wasn't that difficult thanks my dude for showing me the tabs
Man, your tone is like, EXACTLY the same! Unreal...
love these kinds of basslines :D
I was trying to play this music a long time ago, thanks !
beautifully done! i was able to load the video, sight read the tab and play along no problem
Love this song!
Excelente :D
tienes muchas bases de varias canciones que me gustan :D
incluso de video juegos xD
te la sabes ..!!
The 'I came to see tapping' and 'where's the tapping' comments are really annoying. The 'tapping' part isn't even actually a bass guitar, but a synthesizer. This video accurately depicts how the song is ACTUALLY played by Chris. From the galloping/palm muting intro to the actual tablature. I say, this guy is a great bassist!
agreed!
man, you played the shit out of that one!!! nice work!
Reading through to comments is so annoying. "Do the tapping part" yeah the part that isn't played on bass
There's such a thing as synth pedals I'm pretty sure, plus the tapping is honestly one of the most fun parts of the song. In other words, if I played this song live, I would want a synth pedal, as I would want to do the bass tapping part
@@jblakeplays2541 Bass synth tapping FTW!!!
Yes it is
@@jblakeplays2541 Sure it's doable, but Chris Wolstenholme never played the synth part, neither live nor on the album. CoverSolutions plays covers as true to the original as possible.
@@justindarden5998 No, it’s not. Rocksmith is stupid for tricking people into thinking it is. That part is played on a synth. It’s not in the isolated bass track, and Chris doesn’t play it live.
*right arm has left the chat*
GRACIAS POR TANTO MASTER, BAJANDO EL TABS
I loved the pick flick.
I love that the bass is galloping, it really fits the title
Great man, hope one day i'll be at least a half than you actually are, can you please do ONE by METALLICA? Or TO LIVE IS TO DIE. Always thank you for you're great videos man!!
Why do I love this cover more than the song?
Thanks man! That was really helpfull for learning the song.
Text book, absolutely text book. :)
Do a cover of Rosetta Stoned by Tool!
Niiiice man, keep up the good work
Damned good tune.
I think I might have to have a go at this
I fricking love this song, u rock
i agree
COOL!, I love this song ❤️
great job! could you do a cover of falling to pieces by faith no more?
This gives me chills, but not for the right reason, I think. It kinda draws me back to the early days in Maiden's galloping and intricate basslines. Good times...
Awesome! My favourite part of the clip is at 3:21
yay finally something i can sight read!
Felicidades, tienes un gran canal; por fa podrías sacar Continuum del maestro Jaco Pastorius.
that solo at the end is my favourite part
This and roundabout, will be my training
I will make these two my magnum opus in skill and perfection
Can you do space dementia? I would think this is an easy song to learn as well. Keep the great videos up!
How can we win? When fools can be kings?
Damn I'm glad I subscribed. That's a good jam too. :)
Beautiful!
Great play
you dawg you should show the upcoming part before it arrives so people playing along know whats coming and can play with it
Very well played! :)
Brilliant!
That pick flick was so damn adorable...
Time is running out next, maybe? :D
That's quite a fun song
That's an easy song :) And very good ^-^
Hardest part of that song is getting it clean. Any notes slightly off and it ruins it.
So fun to play
Loving your videos, makes me want to pick up my bass again! Not sure if you still do requests but could you do a cover of Maxwell Murder by Rancid? Been the one song I’ve been trying to play for years!
That's absolutely clever key changes....
great video!
Great video! You should play Lophophora by Chancho en piedra.
I love your videos!
Like so pelas tatoo, infinito em cada braço. Muita pratica meu amigo, so força.
nnnnnnnniiiiiiiceeee!! :) Btw, I'd like to see you playing bridges in the sky by drem theater
very good cover good !
Very nice cover! But I think that some muse songs like plug in baby, new born and hyper music have more demanding bass and I would really appreciate it if you can try a cover of them... keep up the great work :-)
Βασιλης Παπαδοπουλος Yeah, tbh I got bored of this song, skipped most of it to see if it got any better.
The bass line in plug in baby is cooler, but i can play that song, i cant play this one haha
Βασιλης Παπαδοπουλος Συμφωνω
Damn I'm early to see this
You and I must fight to survive.
04:14 I was able to play that part with an acoustic bass, I’m so proud lol
And there goes the feelings in my arms.
yessss man that is gooooddddd!!!!! u know this also with guitar??? i learned with bass now haha
Well played :3
Man you're awesome.
Yeah, you rock man! Well, first of all I would like to say you made it very well, the sound was great and also the gallops, but in the end of the song you could play the note 7 (on E string) instead 2 (on A string) to play the ending riff...I think that it would sounds more agressive, you know? But very great man, good job!
Хорошее видео, спасибо большое))!
Love your channel dude! Got a challenge for you, can you play Lateralus by Tool?
Como eu amo a transição palheta/pizzicato
Just f.cking awesome!
Could you do "Get ready" by the temptations?
It's honestly very simple but takes so much stamina
The sass in that pick flick
Temazo ty
Dude, play some Megadeth stuff like Tornado of souls or Take no prisoners, or also some Meshuggah! Salutes, you're awesome.
I think that each time its goes from A to Em you play two A instead of two G. Ex: bar 40 ends with 2-0-3 and 41 star with 3-0 -0 but you seem to play 2-0-0 3-0-0. Both seem fine to my ear but I c'ant decide witch one is the real thing ! Am I hallucinating notes ? Anyway you do a fantastic job ! I learn song really faster with your help Thanks a lot man.
you have great finger stamina man
Great job as always ! Nina Simone - Ain't got no (tabs)...please !!
I can finally play it all (still have to look at the tabs for the triplets I always forget the order) after about 2 hours of trying to some parts need a little work like the transition to 5-7-7-7 to 5-2-2-2 needs work but other than that it’s perfect and YYZ is another song I’m trying to learn and it looks super easy compared to this song and I can play most of YYZ
Exelent❤
Adding to Lee Ritenour - Night Rythms (Overtime album version), would be happy if you create cover for Incognito's song (Where Do We Go From Here, Smiling Faces, or Deep Water). Thanks
The boss!
nice song
