@@gerrymcveigh You are so fortunate to be able to see and experience these things. What an amazing life you have. Your videos are the closest I will ever get to seeing Ireland.
It wasn’t a army base but a shooting range we used to walk when it was littered with old cars and lorry’s and the cannons were being filled with rubbish, nice video great to see its looking better now , nice info, and views
Cheers Paul👍 The Belfast Hills have suffered in many ways over the years and it is great to see them being used by so many people for recreation and lots of work being undertaken to restore and develop habitats👍
Love the fab street art Gerry. Looks really good. I bet you can see that from a fair bit of a distance. I wonder who did it? Hey superb photography, particularly of monster black slug! Wow! You gotta love Divis. Of course tourists never get to view Belfast from this hidden treasure and even many people in Belfast have never visited because them'uns are all green round there! lol The locals told me they were quite happy to have the place to themselves! I can understand why. What a wonderful resource! Another winner Gerry!
Tom, the artwork is really cool and makes for a great welcome. You will see it for yourself when you are up and running again! I get the sense that Divis is used by an amazing variety of people (it is certainly very popular) - dog walkers, runners, families, experienced walkers. Take care :-)
I love that kind of street arty artwork Gerry. So eyecatching. And I love all the trails up there and all the fresh air and fantastic views. The [lace is truly a hidden gem but our tourist chief ignore it. .
Gerry, we were up there last thursday and did Black & Divis mountain. Didn't do the Heath Trail but did the other 3. Great views up there. Regards, Ashley
@@gerrymcveigh I agree, and then Lough Neagh and the Mournes too. We had thought about Cave Hill but thought it would be too busy. Uploaded my video a few mins ago finally! regards, Ashley
Different for you gerry. Great walk mind you what with them views. Good to hear it;s being looked after - the runners like it as do the thistles. I've seen a few lately. Well, the city seems to be in peace from up there. And so it should be. Thanks gerry. All the best. Mark
Mark, like many outdoor places this area has seen a large increase in visits during the lockdown which is great, though this brings pressures in itself. I think many of those visits are to find some peace. Take care :-)
@@gerrymcveigh Yes I agree gerry. It's great that people are connecting with the outdoors. The nature takes a hit of course and Some act unconsciously to - I guess we all learn to tread lightly. I will take care - you to.
Class video as always Gerry. I'm a local to divis mountain and a regular up the mournes. Love how you explain things and places along the routes. Maybe you could help me plan my 7x7's route? Lol
Cheers Paddy👍 I think you are the best person to plan your 7x7s route 👣😊 only did it once and that was many many years ago though I hope you enjoy it and have a great day😊 Having brilliant places like the Belfast Hills and the Mournes close by is so cool👍
Great walk Gerry, and a fantastic view of the Mournes! Considered going from there to Cavehill, but not sure there's a route that doesn't involve main roads or trespassing.. atb Sinco
So peaceful and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Cheers Shirley, it is definitely peaceful and I can understand why it is so popular with people :-)

Very nice walk 👍
Cheers Petros, it was a beautiful early morning walk :-)
Nice hike in the hills. You must be using a good camera because the quality of the video is really crisp and clear.
Cheers, my camera can shoot 4k video which was a welcome upgrade after 7 years with the same camera which shot in 1080 HD.
