The troupe where a character is divided into two or more of themselves always hits me hard. Where although they are technically from the same person, one has to bear a miserable fate, and even if the other self lives on, a part is forever gone, a part that also deserved to live.
I totally agree! It really hit me once we got the full picture of the dire situation fate imparted on Focalors, and then her separated divinity and humanity in order to fulfil the prophecy. As the traveller, we inevitably only see and empathise with a part of them -- what the world was only allowed to see -- which was Furina (and a few bits here and there about Focalors from her and Neuvillette's perspectives). But there's so much more to know and ask. I hope Hoyo explores more of Focalors' story and her interactions with Furina, Neuvillette and others in the future, even if it is postmortem!

Yeahhh I think so too now that you point that out with the other archons. I think seeing them as separate entities would also make sense from our human-oriented perspective. Their unique chemistry with others is what would encourage us to think of them acting as individual "human-like" beings. Whichever way, I love how Furina and Focalors brought their own share of introductions and finales to the world of Teyvat -- and that'll be something we'll remember them for

It very clear at 1:00 But considering her normal model appears to have short hair with the long pieces hiding behind her and blending in with her coat, there got to some kind of symbolism of hiding or duality. That's also something I hope they dive into eventually as well -- like why Furina has short hair in her Ousia form and long hair in Pneuma / "Archon"-mode. Perhaps Focalors gifted Furina her own hair's likeness alongside the curse so that she could pass off more as an Archon. Focalors & Furina are two sides of the same coin. People villainize Focalors but she also suffered 500 years of solitary torture while waiting for her death. I feel so bad for Furina, you can tell there's something missing from her after the AQ. She'll never get that part of her back.
