Yea honestly it's quite impt, you gotta get the reps in even while knowing you're probably wrong. You have to make mistakes first and then learn from them. rpr did practically the same thing, man knew like 0 japanese but now he's at least conversational. He was mainly relying on translators but then he just jumped into STGR GTA and practiced by speaking with a lot of people and learning.

The thing about learning Japanese -english or vice versa is their grammar is opposite to each other like you need to arrange your sentences backwards when you speak japanese it's a very hard thing to do. Not everyone can do it

The trade off is that I now know 1.5 languages. English fully and only half mandarin becuz I hyper focused in English and only used mandarin at home. Now I can only speak in mandarin, read slowly in mandarin but can't write or type.
Well, the other ways are she could join circles of people who learn English near her living place, or she often have conversation in English with online community.
