My friend Eric, thanks so much for these videos. You are my friend because you made my life so so much easier on so many jobs on my classic g20..... God bless you!!!!
I need to change my suspension to my Primera, nothing fancy, it's just broken. This really helped me a lot and I think I can do it safely by myself now! Thank you!
Hello Eric, I have the 2000 G20 with 210,000 miles and running like a top but I'm about to change all shocks and struts. I'll be replacing the entire unit complete with springs. Do you have the part numbers for the front and rear? Best video I've seen for this job and thankfully the exact car I have. Thank you for all your G20 video's.
Thank you for this. I'm contemplating doing this on my Miata toy car and have never used a spring compressor. Your video is very helpful. You mentioned in a comment that the car was often hitting the bumps stops and you wished the springs were stiffer. It's been 5 years since you posted how did the springs work out overall and did your new bump stops fix the bottoming out problem? Thanks.
Overall they are a great set of springs. It still bottoms out from time to time but I think that's just the limitations of use stock shocks on aftermarket springs. It's a good ride, and they are still holding up fine
Great video as always . I’ve been debating on this same job on my 3.5 Altima but not a big fan of the sport suspension that comes with the ser Altima so have been hesitant but now days the stock suspension is getting pretty rough so I will have to decide on something soon.
Hey man, I'm considering doing KYB New SR + Tein S-Tech lowering springs as well on my Toyota. Do you know if the New SR will actually hold up with lowering springs? How have yours lasted? Love to hear an update.
Hey I have a 2002 g20 automatic , what type of wheels /rims you have also how much did them springs and shocks cost is their a certain size hit me up asap
I have questions. Are these short stroke KYB’s or the standard issue? I’m abit blind in the suspension sense. Pls forgive me for asking these. Lowered spring when combined with original struts / the ones usually combined with stock sized springs..... - Does this affect the overall feel of the vehicle? - will the feel be much better with shorter stroke designed for lowered spring? I know feel is subjective. But I’m wondering if there are inconsistencies in the ride. Been told that the standard size shocks will surely wear out a tad bit faster with lowered springs depending on how low is low. But does this affect the overall consistency and stability of the ride?
Thank you for your comment I made sure that I installed brand new shocks but I do know that if you are using your original shocks they will wear out much faster so far none of my shocks have been leaking and I don't have any issues with the right quality I do believe though that the Springs are too soft and you tend to bottom out a lot
ERICSDIYGARAGE - which means your new shocks are the exact same as the original except they are new. Correct? Im in heavy contemplation of using a shock absorber best suited for lowering spring or the Monroe Oespectrum
@@christiansenrobert8106 it's not the exact same shock it's an aftermarket that is build to meet or exceed original specifications. the car ride well and its comfortable in my opinion
+Carlos Avina Rodriguez thanks bro and I would recommend it if your shock's are already bad, also the handling feels much better. the drop is not as significant but it's a even drop.
I saw that in another video you had a cold intake filter on your g20, I've looked around UA-cam and I can't find a video on installing a cold air intake on a Infiniti G20, I'd appreciate if you could make a video on installing it!
I want to drop my primera p11, ive heard lowerings kills shock absrobers quickly, I live In central america, its imposible to find parts for primeras here, everything has to be purchased through e bay. Commemts please?
my vehicle has been fine no issues. I did use new kyb shocks if you use the stock one I'm sure you will have issues with them so replace the shocks with new ones
buenos dias, tengo un nissan primera es motor qg 18 con inyeccion directa sistema gdi, y tengo problemas con los inyectores, y ademas la gasolina no pasa al sistema de inyeccion, espero que me puedas ayudar
luvkosizia the car handles better with the lowering springs, also I have less body roll now. if you have the money I would say go with coilovers if your on a budget this is a great way to lower it and have a nice ride height.
I bottom out a lot very its a soft spring. I am going to go with coilovers in the future . if you go with springs you will need new shocks and bump stops/bushings to avoid blowing your shocks when you bottom out
Much love for stereo recording, but this application is a bit jarring to hear you walk around my head while telling me about tools. keep up the good work.

Good video bud. Definitely going to do it now
Spec v rims ftw!
i need a set...

so far my springs are holiday up well no issue at all
ERICSDIYGARAGE how many KM or miles do you have on them now?
Are you using spacers behind your rims and are your fenders rolled?
no spacers and the fenders eventually needed to be rolled
Nice how to! Thank you good job as always! Where did you order that set up? I have 02 g20 .

I also got one like this. Pondering coilovers or change of springs.

I'm just about to put this same setup on my p11! Thanks for the video!
Are there any bushings you wish you had swapped while in there?
Thanks for watching and yes I went back a week later to install new spring hats and new bump stops
What size are the front shocks? Did u have to get them a size smaller since the springs are lower then the original springs?
No the Shocks are stock size.
Nice drop for the G 👌
Yo! Nice wheels, I have a 2002 spec-v 💪🏼

How much did you spend on shocks and springs all together?

how's the ride quality of KYB with tein lowering springs? im planning to use one for my lancer

Do the rear shocks (or even Coilovers) work on the P11 wagon/estate?
Jonathan Mc Intyre im not sure if its the same suspension sorry i couldn't help
No they're different
Hello. I hope you can read this. It's been 3 years now since you post this video. Are you still using this setup? Are your shocks still okay?

could you direct to a website where i can get new springs i cant find any? Ihave 1996 infinti G20

where i can but that spring ?
muhammad shahfiez ebay
ERICSDIYGARAGE can you give me the link because i try to find but not founded 😭
😍😍😍😍
would it work on 95?
the front is the same payout but the rear is different if your asking if these lowering springs will fit the answer is not sadly
Why don’t people just buy milwaukee 1/2” battery powered impact gun. You will save at least an hour of work
You forgot to torque the top 3 nuts on the fronts in the video.
