The only problem with getting a golden visa in one country and eventually wanting to be a citizen of another Schengen zone country, is that when it comes time to apply for citizenship in the country where you want to live, they will look back to your tax history in that country and how much you paid over the course of the five or ten year residency requirement for citizenship to determine whether you will get that.

I have been working in the immigration field in the Czech Republic for over 10 years and it's never been easy. There are way easier countries to get a visa to. For some reason though, many articles started appearing and talking about a "Digital nomad" visa for the Czech Republic recently. Most of them are in any way anywhere close to reality since Czech Republic simply does not offer anything like that.

I think I'm going to do my master's in France. There's an ease to naturalization process if you do 2 years in France, I've heard for some it's one year of naturalization, but I've heard for others it's a much longer process and takes them 5 years. Either way, you get a resident visa after 2 years of inexpensive high-quality education while on a student visa that still allows ease of travel in Schengen. I don't know why more people interested in offshore aren't talking about this. I guess it's the French tax system.

As a person who voluntarily turned down opportunity to get Swedish and Dutch citizenship (since I already lived there), I firmly believe that EU citizenship (or non-EU but nordic) is rather liability than asset. Europe (with exception of places like Monaco, Switzerland etc) will slowly turn into full fledged weird mix of communism and rampant corporatism. So as future EU citizen you might find yourself stripped from almost all your wealth if you even dare to quite their citizenship. However, I do love low commitment residency programs like Portugese one. In short term, you might have a lot of fun & profit by living in beautiful places like Portugal. And once bolsheviks start coming after you, you can easily quit (assuming you do it with early red flags). It's not paranoid way of thinking of their citizenship. Unless you have 1M Euro to waste in Malta, you have to spend at least half of decade living in a single country, learn their language, sometimes even prove your social connections there. Then 15 years from there, you might easily find yourself surrounded by bolsheviks (i.e. total 20 years from now). Remember Europe 20 years ago, and where it's now. Especially after COVID-1984?

One thing for sure is people are abysmal about making predictions. As a result I find the best course is typically to invest in some form of optionality. That way whatever happens you're going to be able to choose the best course.
You can make rash decisions and get lucky but as they say in investing you should never confuse intelligence with a bull market.
There's also something to be said that you've got to live your life and ideally you optimize it along the way. Added to which I've failed to find the perfect place so it seems like the ideal mix is a combination of places.

@@MichaelRosmer I believe you responded in a wrong thread ;) Anyway, I'm in stock market since 2012 and I wasted lots of time & opportunities believing in efficient market hypothesis. It's useful concept only for mom-pop normie investors who can't spend their time analyzing special opportunities. It's a long topic. In short, Jack D. Schwager views on efficient market hypothesis. He recently gave good interview to Patrick Boyle.

@@libertarianspirit oh yeah markets are definitely not efficient, agreed. They do experience moments of rationality when people wake up but then quickly returns to the madness of crowds or perhaps more accurately predictable irrationality.

@@MichaelRosmer btw, I actually think normal people are never waking up to rationality lol. Because markets are weighted voting system (unlike democracy), it gives huge reward to contrarian, independent thinkers. They are in turn accumulate huge capital and able to counter bet on other side, eventually turning market in right direction (think of short sellers for example). By contrast in democracy, there is absolutely no direct reward for being right, so people are voting for retarded populists over and over again, and they will continue to do so regardless of outcome. Look at Argentina, they defaulted so many times and retards continue to vote for socialists and they will keep doing so for eternity lol.

@@libertarianspirit there's definitely something deeply dysfunctional about the governance systems. The ones that seem to do the best over time seem to protect their people from too much power of the government much like the much more grass roots Swiss system.
What do you think would be a better system?

I like your video and thanks for the tips ...But my critics going to EU as es Yugoslavian(this region in the past was a stronghold against the invasion of the Mongols Tartars Turks Avars and what so not ever(if it was t for does kingdoms such Byzantine or other kingdoms does tribes would conquer Europe for sure). How come now does self-proclaimed colonial stealing bastards want s visa or Schengen to this country s from the Balkan region? It should be free transport and transit for all European citizens including does who are not in the " EU union"- All people from Geographical Europe should freely travel around Europe. Only and only then you can call European Union.

I agree with you. Unfortunately politics are very very unfair, and most Ex Yu countries are being left out and can enjoy benefits like other European citizens.
It’s quite unfortunate, but I believe that things could change in the near future. Let’s see.
