I have a problem with it because it takes way from the athlete, now your no longer just racing but now you have to keep sync with someone, its like adding an extra handicap to a handicapped race
@@pablohill6688 youtube just deleted my comment😐 I was saying that they chose men because they're faster , nd have more stamina than wo😐men, so there are not going to slow them down. But for guys it gets tricky not gonna lie
@@pablohill6688 What's your problem? You rather have sightless people try to guess where they're running? Until technology advances, this is the way it has to be.
It's anyway hard to run with your hand tied to another, it's on a different level when you can't even see. Respect to these athletes 👌👌 and thanks to the guides also 👍👍
They changed the rules in 2012, I think, and made the guides medal eligible. Before that they got only respect for doing what they do, which was bs in my opinion. Glad they fixed it.
So T11 is basically a team race? It’s probly easier for these dudes to run a sub 57 400m without dying of exhaustion, but guides for male runners are likely competing just as hard as the paraolympians
@@christophercraft957 I’ve heard that the official athlete has to cross first. He probably did this to make sure she didn’t get penalized in case he accidentally crossed before her.
I think the 2nd place guide was tired and legging behind she was kind pulling him. the 1st place’s guide was pulling her. Well l guess the guides do make a difference
Why don't they setup something to guide them rather than having someone run with them, it not a fair race if someone is holding you back because theyre slower than you
Ryte like bumps on the track for their feet and get the feel of it before they race or a bungee cord and have the lanes blocked off with clear plastic to run in lanes
Say you put rallings so they dont go into the other lanes, it could hurt them. Any type of way you can think of it might hurt them bc they will run into it they have no idea where the turns are bc they never seen a track before you know?
The guide has to have a similar run time/pace as the runner in order for it to be effective. That’s why they’re so in sync. That’s likely why most female runners have male guides, it’s easier to find a guy with a similar run time.
Would probably be more work than it's worth since they run on the same track as the athletes without disabilities. The athletes might prefer this too, I know I would.
Can someone explain me why they are obligated to put that thing on their eyes? I mean or they are blind (so they don't need to cover) or they are not, and I can participate too because I'll not see anything too with this on my face
that guide xudongling was suffer with couple of injuries during the competition. He's had and muscle strained 48h before final and ligament torn 24h before final. That's why you can see at final 100m he's run form deformed. He don't wanna quit because he told the coach Liu didn't practice with other guide properly and she need him.
They’re blind. The T11 class is the highest blind class, meaning the athlete is either completely blind or have very very little vision (like light perception). So in order to to make it fair for the ones who are 100% blind vs the ones who can still see light, they all wear blindfolds.
Respect 💯
Didn’t know they had this for blind people amazing
I know right? Really amazing!
I love how they run with an aid.
Its like running w a friend and u guys can win together.
So sweet☺️

I wonder how the aides are selected and how they train together.

This is so freaking cool! All the events at the Paralympics warm my heart, but this may be my new favorite event!
My respects for this amazing athlete's.
This is awesome! Never knew they had this

That's pretty cool that they run with a guide.
So impressive
My fastest time in the 400m is 56secs. Damn. All respect ✊🏽
This was AMAZING
This is amazing! And the guides deserve a medal too!!
They do. Unless they changed the rules in recent years, the guides get medals too. They’re considered a team

The guides have good beards too. They should grow it out. Its a good look for men.
@@gorillababoon1395 a powerful beard could slow them down due to the wind resistance. That's why cyclists shave their bodies.....I hope.
this race teaches us lot of things..Hatsoff :-)
Damn Liu is fast! Amazing effort from all but she nailed it !

For real, those dudes better be super fast if not they could messed the competitors race
I don't know, guide for the winner left her hanging for a bit so he could crawl around like he was about to die.
T11 is for completely blind people or very low levels of vision, they were blind folds to keep it an even playing field
@@christophercraft957 I’ve heard that the official athlete has to cross first. He probably did this to make sure she didn’t get penalized in case he accidentally crossed before her.

Haha the fact that the guides are more tired after the race than the person they help make me laught

Because these people are with different degrees of visual impairment, not all are completely blind.
Had Chinese not shown down WR could have been broken by a second

what does t11 mean ?
it means theyre blind
The lowest class of visual impairments, meaning that they have no vision beyond light perception.

How did they know where the finish line was?
The guides hold down there arm and let go of the band.
the guide tell them

The guide for the Chinese woman got more tired than the runner did.

There are only 4 the one who didnt win very unlucky😂😂
They cant keep a single lane easily. Thats why its 4 competitors.
