3:33 Back in day before my son moved to North Carolina we caught many nice Channel Cats where the Conococheague feeds into the Potomac close to where that stone bridge is ,
Love the multi-angles in the beginning. I am laughing so hard at the self-talk discussion, lol!! Good call there. I hate when I say the wrong when I'm recording, too. Really love the historical, informative videos you do! So glad Annette made it into the video :) That pizza looked delicious!
Thanks so much, Amy! Takes a lot more time to get the angles, but it's worth it. As I was only a few steps from the Potomac, it was hard not to say river all the time! Been waiting for a chance to talk to the voices in my head in a video, and this seemed like a great opportunity. Glad you liked it!
Thanks Bill! This area has such a rich history. Never seen the upper end of the canal, but I grew up a stones throw from the DC side. Pretty amazing, as always your videos are top shelf. Thanks for sharing, already anticipating what's next. Great Job you guys, we'll have to visit that pizza joint :-)
Loves this video so much. So informative. Wish someone you knew was with you with a drone to help fill out some of those shots as you were talking about the walkway and what not. ;) the interior conversation was hilarious. Your most Adamthewoo meets Justin Scarred yet all Bill Vlog. Keep it up! Inspired me to start going around Plymouth and vlogging different historical things. Guess I'll have to start doing research. Finally, that coal pizza looks sooooo good
Thanks a lot Bob! We do have similar sensibilities about things like this. So I hoped you would enjoy it. Love the weird, the historical, the things you find. Definitely in my Woo-ish/Scarred wheelhouse. I've been waiting for the right time to do the inner monologue thing in a video. Worked out ok. Was glad I was able to turn a washed out day into something interesting.
Loved the bit in the middle talking to yourself, too funny! That really is how it goes though! :-) Yay, Annette! Definitely more fun with her! And that pizza looked so yummy, now I want pizza, lol! 😂
+Sprinkle ME DISNEY Thanks for watching it. I've been wanting to have an inner monologue, and it seemed like a good time. The pizza was awesome. Definitely more fun when Annette is around.
+Disabled Park Hopper Oh, wow! That's pretty cool. I used to work in the area, and enjoy visiting occasionally. Last time I was there, the bridge was still down. Perry amazing that they finally raised it. Thanks for watching!
That's very cool that you can stay in the old lock houses. I used to love watching the boats go through the locks as a kid...Seemed like something out of a different time:) That pizzas making me hungry! I hope you are having a good weekend! :)
Pretty interesting.Ive only seen one locks work, that was at Soo St. Marie , Michigan. Great bit of history. Is there any fish in that river/canal? Thanks for sharing.......Rhino
There are some fish, and plenty of turtles in the canal. This section is just a thousand yards or so off the Potomac. There are two locks that still work on the canal, one of which is in the area of Georgetown in Washington DC. I need to head back over there sometime. Thanks for watching!
Something's ya just wish had never changed. Those old canals r awesome. check out the canals in Easton PA someday. They have boat tours on them and its by the Crayola factory
Will definitely do that. Been to Easton, and the downtown area there. Have not checked out the canals though. Visited the steel plant area - very interesting.
Notice of Trespassing is only really a guideline so you can't sue them if you hurt yourself. Well that's what I say to myself anyway 😀 interesting vlog Bill.

Pretty cool. They must love that area. Great place to ride and hike, and apparently, fish, too.
Thanks for watching!

Great video. That magic trick is too funny.
Thanks! Wish I'd had Annette around for the whole thing, too.
Hi I love the power plant part I enjoyed your video

Thanks for watching! The canal has a fascinating history. I've only dabbled in the DC section of it. That pizza place is so good. We love it.

Yeah, that pizza is the best pizza we've ever had. Worth the extra money, for sure.
+mrcoaster1 we totally agree here then. Anyone can just rattle off historical info, it's HOW you do it and with personality that matters.

Wow they raised the bridge! I used to live not to far from there and we had been there several times! Thanks for the Vid!

It is definitely a cool way to step back in time. I haven't stayed in the lock houses yet, but I think it would be fun to do.

So glad you didn't go into the power plant. I'm with you I wouldn't last a minute in the joint either !!
LOL...Yeah, I'm sure it would have resulted in something terrible. Glad I discussed it with myself first.
Yes, self talk can be a very useful thing! ; )

Heh - I'll have to keep that in mind when I talk to myself the next time. Thanks for checking it out, Del!
The canal did not run from Ohio. Only from Cumberland, MD. They ran out of money.
You are correct.
