  • Simple Circle Fade In/Out In Unity
Greetings, in this Unity tutorial we shall be looking at how to do a circle fade in and circle fade out in Unity. This tutorial won't be using shaders. We will be creating our own child class of the Image class. We will use a few lines of code to achieve this circle fade in and circle fade out effect.
To create this circle screen wipe effect, you will need a circle image and a square image. We will import our circle image onto our canvas and make it a UI image, then we will attatch a mask component to the circle image. We will tick the box on the mask component to hide the image. After that we import our square image and make it a child object of our circle image. Then we attach our custom UI Image script we make in this tutorial and voila, we have a circle cut out in our black image.
After, we just make an animation to change the size of the circle and we have a circle fade in and fade out animation.
This tutorial is also great if you want to learn how to invert a mask in Unity. This is great if you want to make a cutout mask in Unity. This Unity tutorial is also great for those who want to do a circle reveal in Unity.
This circle fade in and fade out can be a great way to transition between scenes or for level loading. Animal Corssing and Super Mario Bros Wonder use this circle fade in and circle fade out effect.
Thanks for watching this tutorial on how to create a simple circle fade in and out effect in Unity.
