0:50 - I think I know who that is. Back in the 80's I went to Mount Carmel High School and I had this art teacher ( not naming him here for his privacy ). Around 2012 I found out the guy made it big in the art community and actually built a true castle up in Temecula for he and his wife. i went to visit him. I still have the picture of him and me, standing in front of his castle, on my phone. I'm looking at it now. Wow, that guy in the picture sure looks like him just 15 years older. I'm wondering if it isn't the same guy building one in Serra Mesa now. If you're reading this NL, you rock. This new house is amazing.
You know the hilarious thing, back when I used to go to elementary school in San Diego there are times we used to walk to the park and it wasn't that far and we just literally walked there, like a few minutes, on the way there and back I always remember seeing this one castle house, always told myself It was so cool even bragged to everyone that I'm going to get it one day man love that days 🏰 🏡 🥴
It looks great, but I can see multiple clear building code violations just from this video, starting with the requirement that there be at least 3 feet of open space between every property line and any structure so that firefighters have access.
How was he even given a permit to build that in an established, traditional neighborhood..!!?? Will he be charging admission or serving pizza is it a amusement or chimerical venture offering tour's..!!?? When I lived in Vegas there was a castle up the street but all the places were fabulous BB King lived on the corner the Kim sisters lived a couple respectful meters over and a couple gangsters homes as well , but what's going on in Mira Mesa is pore taste and tacky , making the whole street look even worse than it is... 🏡🏰🏚️ Did anyone besides me pick-up on the street name ? (Galahad) 🛡️🗡️📜⚔️🏹⚜️
Not an opinion on whether this project is good or bad, don't live in Serra Mesa or even SD so I don't care one way or another. But I have a feeling the next news story will be city building inspectors ordering it torn down. There's no way all the proper building permits were obtained for this. As far as the inside, looks like there could be a track, cars and a Disney type ride through it. Have you E coupon ready.
Buildings have to be built to whatever building code the area adheres to, but style isn't part of those requirements, unless it's a historic district or some other exception. Crap low budget bungalows, which anyone who has ever lived in Southern CA will recognize are the standard, are not 'traditional'. They're just the result of demand for housing from 1940s-1960s.

Probably not. I know the guy personally and he has never been a teacher. This is his first castle that he has ever built.
@@rodriguezdannia Ok, cool. Thanks. Different guy, similar looking from a distance then. I appreciate the follow up.
I want to remodel my house to look like a butt. So when people drive by, they can say "look at that big ass house".
I would love that!! The inside would be a mini version of the Spanish royal castle
Thats that castle from blank check movie
There’s literally a neighbor hood in city heights San Diego called Castle because of the castle style homes.
There's a castle home in Huntington Beach, CA as well.
I live in Serra Mesa and this is so cool. We love this.
I used to live in military housing a few miles up near Murray Ridge. A long time ago, I think someone had a Lotus Europa on the driveway.
Nice! I need to go check this out! Oh and HI Cris!

Is that the guy that built the castle in Alpine???
