That keypad is beautiful on the XPS! Great unboxing video. Sorry about the defective unit that you got and hopefully the replacement unit will have no such issues. I faced the same fan issue with my Dell XPS 15 9510 during its setup. Also please do upload a video of the new replacement unit. Thanks ✌🏻
XPS laptops are great when they work, I have the 9520 and it’s great. Your 13 Plus seems to just be defective which is fine and normal with something so new
Yeah, I used to own an older XPS 15 and the first thin bezel XPS 13, they both were great and I didn't have any problems with them. I've always been a fan of the XPS lineup But yeah, having a first gen product is a little scary because of the problems that can come up. I'm guessing this is the first time they've put up this kind of cooling system in a 13 inch ultrabook 😅

I have the same specs. FHD+ w the I5 and 16gb of memory. My device was hot for the 1st couple of days due to the multiple updates, but I never heard the fans. I'm running it w the lid closed while connected to a Dell USB-C (P2720DC) monitor that is daisy chained to a U2415. On a sidenote I ruled the OLED panel out. Looks sweet but having moved from the XPS 9500 to the 16" M1 Pro (base), the XPS line is pretty much off the radar for me. The M1 Pro has been flawless, fan noise or the lack thereof being just one of the many perks of the M1 Pro. It does look quite promising, doesn't it? It just sucks that this unit needs to replaced immediately. Hopefully the new one will be good. No reason in particular. I'm still keeping my MacBook Pro 14. It's just that, at the end of the day, some people really just don't want to use a Mac and prefer Windows. I wanted to find an ultrabook that could possibly match the performance of my M1 Pro or the M2 even and the 1240p chip from Intel seemed pretty promising. Plus the laptop looks gorgeous.
