@@yuchenchen8012Grisham gonna get DFA'd when Dominguez is activated. Sucks, he seems like a good dude, he can obviously hit the ball, he's just inconsistent. I wish him the best but the season goes on.
And DJ is gonna snap in soon, bottom of the lineup is a different vibe for him, but once he settles into it, he's gonna be great. I think Rizzo is washed, I freaking love the guy, I think we all do, but I just don't think he's ever going to produce again.

Call me crazy, but this is one of there best wins of the season!! Got the B squad out there mostly and they led from jump street! Rodon brilliant, Hamilton eh but maybe our new Jeff Nelson shutting it down for clay, with I believe Jeff in the booth with Ryan tonight.. and the big dawgs all got full rest no pinch hitting duties.. This was a great win!!
Can we just shout out Trevino for a sec? We don't expect much offensively, but he's been above average, he's getting clutch hits. Veteran presence behind the plate, he's still plus defensively, he handles a good pitching staff well. I wanted him to be the backup on the way out, and Wells to be the future. Wells has been.... Not great. I'm still not giving up. But thank God we have Trevino. No great team has a bad catcher.
And bro.... Jeff Nelson. Nice. I remember him. Holy crap that slider was nasty. What a forgotten gem. Mariano loved him too, he knew he was gonna get set up nicely when that big Sasquatch came in to ice it.

Freaking right it is. We should have Cole back real soon, I hope they're careful and limit his pitches, but we're in a good position in the standings, we can afford to limit starters and look towards the big picture. Get a corner infielder at the deadline and maybe another bullpen arm, this is a formidable playoff team.
I know this word means nothing at this point, but it's nice to see him hustling for the team this year 😂

Soto is back am so happy to see him even if he has to play as DH
He's such a freak I don't think he can hit as well when he isn't playing defensively. This is 50% Soto. We've seen 100% Soto. He's gonna give Judge staying power, the top 3 of our lineup is elite, I would seriously take Volpe/Soto/Judge over Betts/Ohtani/Freeman, no lie, I like our dynamic better. We haven't seen peak Volpe yet, he's still getting better.
Good for the Tonkin Truck getting his second career save. I admit it was a great decision keeping him around cause he has been lights out the last couple weeks.
Lamahieu had a sweet rbi sac bunt....a ripped single.....scored .....and made a sick defensive play

Have we gotten swept this year? I don't think we have. I was thinking about that in game 3 w the Dodgers, I know we've lost a series or 2, but I don't think we've gotten swept all season, even in 2 game series.

Rizzo needs to take more off. I hate it. I love Rizzo. Everyone loves Rizzo. But just bc he's an awesome dude doesn't mean he should be in our lineup every day. Would be a dream come true if Verdugo or Dominguez could learn passable 1B defense, we would be so much better keeping them and Stanton in the lineup, Rizzo just as a backup.

Started with Minnesota, so we snagged The Buffalo and The Gila Monster from the Twins.
I feel the same way about Clay, my blood pressure shoots high every time he goes on the mound. I felt relax watching Tonkin pitch. 😂
Fucking cardiac Clay. He's the polar opposite of Rivera. But he gets it done. It might not be a 5 pitch nothing inning, he takes us on an adventure, but other than that ONE time this year, it always ends with the Yankees winning. Literally ONE time. He's only allowed runs in ONE outing all year.

1998 Yankees are the best team in history. You can't change my mind. That was the homerun chase season, Yankees didn't have a 40 HR hitter, and they still smoked everyone, 114 wins, 2nd most ever in a season and the only other that beat them was the '01 Mariners, we beat them in the playoffs. 98 Yankees, best. Ever.
Scott Brosius batted 9th most of that season, and he drove in 98 runs. Find me another 9 hitter that productive. That's how good they were top to bottom.

It’s early in the season, but if the Yanks stay healthy, they’re likely to see the Phillies in the WS which is a rematch of ‘ 09. Both teams are clearly on a mission.
Great pitching again, Dodgers series wasn't great, but it was really just game 2 that got away. It was one of the only bad games the Yankees have played all year, and Judge hit 2 homers. Count your blessings Yankee fans, I've been here since the early 90s when we were a trainwreck that became a dynasty. We're a great team, we're among the leaders in everything, Judge is having a historic season despite a bad April, the pitching has been fantastic all year, we're having unexpected performances like Verdugo and Trevino, all we need is 1B production and a more consisten bullpen, no team in baseball is more consistent than us, not even Philly. They've had a lighter schedule than us and their offense is spotty against elite pitching. Ask any team in baseball who they don't want to face in a 5 or 7 game series, every single manager will say the Yankees, we are the Kraken, we are the team you can't shut down, and we're only going to get better with Dominguez and Cole coming back, we can add some artillary at the trade deadline. McMahon, come on over, corner infielder with power, Rockies are gonna sell.

You know i remember reading some idiots comment a few months back about Jose Trevino and i just wanna say that guy can eat dirt. The guy we saw last year was legit. Im so glad hes been hitting well lately and driving in runs when needed. You can just tell whrn a guy had a good eye. Sometimes i cant stand our own fan base smh
The Rise Of Rodon continues 😤. Rodon once again with an great outing. His last 2 starts 13IP 8H 3R 0BB 12K. 0BB? Damn impressive especially considering the fact that he had only 6BB total in 6 starts in May. I'm happy for him and he's completely put last season on his rearview.

Thank God. Last year was an epic fail as far as big name Yankee signs, I thought he was this era's Pavano🥵 but he's been great. This is the Rodon we wanted last year.

I think you can call that series a wash, game 1 was awesome, we just couldn't punch that key run across, and that was with a spot starter due to injuries. Game 2 was the only bad game we had. That's ok in a playoff series, I think we showed that when it really counts we can get the clutch hits, even without Soto.

The Yankees pitching staff deserve so much praise for this season. Rodon is killing it, Gil is lights out, Cole coming back... healthy Judge/Soto return soon. Trade deadline moves. Jasson Dominguez/Other potential prospects coming up before season's end. I'm thinking we are back.
King of the Gil is for real. I was skeptical at first, I thought it was just a young gun on a hot streak, but the more you watch him, the more you realize he really is an elite pitcher. Excellent velocity and movement, the only issue is control, but at the same time he has a sort of wild control, he's supposed to miss pitches, because he's so electric you want them to swing and miss. I'm ok with some walks. I hope he can step up on the big games, I think he can. He came in on a super high pressure situation, he was only in the rotation because Cole was out, he's been fighting to keep his position all year and he's fought his ass off, he's legit one of the best pitchers in baseball this year. I hope he can keep that intensity.
Rodon is 9-2 so far this season. He might be in the Cy Young race at this point.
Gil baby. Legit. If the season ended today, Gil is the Cy Young and ROTY, Judge is the MVP, Yankees sweep the major awards. That's nuts. Boone could even win manager of the year, despite being hated on for pretty much his entire Yankees/Managerial tenure.
@@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231Boone has done a solid job this year. Maybe like 2-4 questionable decisions but otherwise good. Pulling starters before it's too late, good pinch hitting, small ball, lineup construction all have been good. Clubhouse vibes are the best they've been in years.
@@paskowitz I've always been on his side, Girardi was better, Torre was better, but hey, those were 2 legendary managers, it's tough to fill those shoes. Boone was our first rookie manager in decades, I figured it would take him some time to find his own voice as a manager. He's getting there.

Really weird lineup tonight, felt like a different team, but not in a good way even though they got the job done. Judge, Stanton, Rizzo, all out. I do prefer Cabrera in there though, he’s better than DJ and Rizzo, who are effectively the new Hicks and Gallo
