Sorry for the minor mistakes, 27:14 is supposed to be "soon that gave in" and not "soon I gave in" my bad Along with that there's little audio mistakes I didnt notice till the vid was up... sorry for that
The end is supposed to symbolize him ending his drug use. “I’ll never do it again” is said throughout the hook but it’s cool cuz at the end of the song it ends with “do it again” nice lil touch
i love kid cudi and have been trying to understand what this album was about. After watching this video, multiple things have become clear. I think this album is not only about his issue with substance abuse, but rather an insight on growth and discovery. He is constantly asking questions in this album. He finds his strengths and weaknesses, and figures out how to navigate life through his own skin. This album shows his adventure in finding out who he is. I prob sound stupid as hell saying this, but i think this plays along with the drug use part of the album.
I gotta wait for the full rollout to happen (videos, and the deluxe) and then I'll do it... just don't want to make a video and then it gets immediately outdated
Man on the man 2 is a dark album and so is Speedin bullet 2 heaven . All of his songs are related to ppl that has gone through darkest times in life. Some songs he made was sad . It’s understandable because we all have mental health .
@@KingBennyyou’re making the videos everyone has wanted for the biggest while like wtf nobody’s done what you’re doing dude first videos explaining the albums right and understandable thank you
I like your videos for the most part but there are definitely some points I feel like you didn't think deeply about or at least didnt catch the connecting dots on. For Mr. Rager - I personally always thought the people asking to tag along was kids, thats why he sings it so off key and immaturely. Almost like Mr. Rager is a pied piper getting all the kids to follow him. Whether his adventure will lead them to happiness or a tragic life is the question. The video does add another layer of context about fighting himself a.d his demons. The video is definitely a battle of good vs. Evil. Hence the light vs. Dark jackets. Obviously the dark (evil) gets the upper hand when he stabs light Cudi. The therapy session tells you its happening in his head, of course. Its the humble vs the bragadocious. These worries are actually the aftermath of the video from Mr. Rager. His voice is altered to show its not light or OG Cudi rapping. Mr. Rager is standing over a weak good Cudi and telling him how he affects good Cudi (evil/bad Cudi) he's been there the whole time, bad Cudi tells him I'm the reason you like whiskey. The next few bars kinda shows they are the same person. Even evil kid Cudi wants to hide from the shadows but can't, they follow him everywhere. Mary sings "...my pride it won't let me fall victim no more." Pride is one of the 7 deadly sins. So... evil Cudi is going to take over and use pride to keep good Cudi safe. Its almost like he's only evil because he has to be to stay safe and sane. Next Cudi verse is in his normal voice. This is good Cudi singing. He says he can fight back. He says he lies to his mom and says he's okay when he's not. Uh oh - evil Cudi wants to protect good Cudi and good Cudi isn't 100 percent innocent. Why? Cause they're obviously the same person. At the end, Cudi says Mr. RAGER, YEAH! As though he won, or that's who is being introduced. When it comes to The End - like I said before, easy to dismiss as not part of thr narrative but this song has always been underrated so hard. The End title I've interpreted as the good Cudi from the Mr. Rager video finally dying, the end of bad Cudi having to share a mind with good Cudi, or just Mr. Rager getting arrested at the end of the song. GLC and King Chip rap on The End and it's about living life and survival in the streets. Are they just speaking to the audience OR are they schooling younger gangsters? Possibly Mr. Rager himself? I think this song is two stories at once, actually. Its the path of good Cudi (listening to friends rapping about dangers of street life) as well as the story of if Mr. Rager took over completely... a high function drug addict that not only "made it" but sets up some people he knows just to get a few bucks or an 8 ball or some shit. He's fiending. This also fits with the name of the act The transformation is literally him going from a goodie 2 shoes, ppl pleaser to a Rockstar type personality that doesn't give af about others' opinions. He does what he wants, when he wants, because he wants to. Including setting up friends for a hit. I feel like All Along is Mr. Rager realizing him and the man on the moon is actually the same person and are pretty inseparable. Or they need each other to survive. And yes, Ghost! Is pretty much the real Scott, not any of the characters kind of coming out and saying all of what we experienced from MotM 1 and 2 are all him. The good, the bad, the ugly is all part of his personality, BUT - realizing all of that actually does kill off the old Scott Mescudi. The old version of him is a Ghost to make way for this new Scott who is more well rounded and mature. But we are all unique and sometimes we don't always understand each other. Cudi just reminds all of us that it's okay to not be understood by every single person. And yeah, trapped in my mind I agree with your breakdown completely. Its a great way to wrap up the album. Its completely beautiful that you think the album had a bad ending where I think its pretty neutral. Mr. Rager and The man on the moon realize they need each other and they can move forward together as a much stronger unit than fighting each other. I think I'm gonna listen to MotM 3 again now.
You can see influence of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain.
Cudi did say that Kurt is his favorite artist
erase me is what cudi tried to make speedin bullet to heaven sound like with his mix of rock and rap
I think cudi montage is more accurate
I wouldn’t say so. I love SB2H, don’t think that’s what it’s trying to be at all. I’d say WZRD is “more” trying to be like Erase Me.
Nah i think he made what he was going for, and personally love it, see what u mean tho.
Small detail and fun fact I found out yesterday Scott Mescudi vs. the world is a tribute to Scott Pilgrim vs. the world
You mad slow
