This is the best video on this topic thank you. I’m a super host and I just had a guest say that she seen a guy urinate in the street and people doing drugs in a group of 15 downtown outside of my airbnb. Then she tried to demand a refund and stated she had proof. She said she was going to tell airbnb support and I told her if she had proof of it maybe she should. Well they reached out to me about 4 hours ago and I still havent heard anything back so there’s no way that was true. She decided not to stay so I guess I’ll just mention that and the lack of proof when she tries to retaliate with a bad review. I have a feeling she has done this before because I’ve never had this happen. I guess we will see what happens. it’s just sad that there are actual hosts that treat there guests horribly and even when you don’t do that inevitably you get a guest like this. I guess if there are bad hosts out there, there has to be bad guests as well
Just a update to anybody reading looking for more context on a experience related to the video It’s been almost two weeks since this incident. The guest later that night admitted to airbnb that she lied about having proof about any of the things she stated. Even though she did not actually stay and her argument was not valid she and I were still able to review each other so the next morning she reviewed my listing. This is airbnbs policy which is if the reservation has been cancelled within 24 hours of the checkin the review process still applies. Another policy states that reviews have to be genuine and truthful. Ultimately the guest was not truthful about what she stated or totally truthful at least. Yesterday I finally posted a review which published both of them. I called airbnb support today and hers was deleted due to untruthfulness in her review. I looked and they also deleted mines from her profile as well. She even stated in her review that airbnb gave her a refund. Which is probably true I have heard of that before. This is my opinion but Airbnb has to do it’s best to try to keep its customers and business associates happy. They also have to keep the airbnb community at ease. I think if situations like that continue to keep happening for me as a host or for her as a guest they will have to ban them to save their ecosystem. Ultimately we are all human and we all make mistakes guests or hosts. hopefully she and I can learn from this no matter how small or big the lesson is. Hopefully this helps someone and good luck on your airbnb and or STR journey!
You mentioned that reviews can be removed if a guest lies. However that has not been my experience. I had a guest leave me 3 stars saying there was no local support, however I do have a local property manager that the guest contacted. Airbnb said this does not violate their guidelines.
I don't rent my room out on AirBnB anymore, but I had a man show up and as soon as he opened the door, he has the most disgusted look on his face at my dogs and making comments about if the dogs were going to be staying there too. I CLEARLY stated in multiple places on the listing that I had dogs and they were even in a few pictures. He left a review that there were fleas everywhere and that the house was dirty because of the dogs, even though the house was spotless at all times..and obviously, not a single flea...and all of the other reviews stated how clean my house was. People are so rude and are always trying to get something for free.
Hi, Jenny yes, unfortunately that is true in some cases. That's why we can try to appeal to Airbnb regarding these negative reviews, as long as they violate Airbnb's Content or Review policies. I hope you were able to remove yours! Don't forget to like and subscribe to our channel! Thank you
Sadly AirBnB does very little to protect homeowners/hosts from erroneous and unjust reviews and favor the guest. One of many things wrong with AirBnB. It's really bad and they just don't care!
The guest looking for a stay who does their research and due dillgence will not let one outlier review determine if they'll book there. If there are many negative reviews, maybe it's a host problem and not an AirBnB support problem.
Hi @costaricaking, hope you’re doing well. I understand how Airbnb sometimes just doesn’t delete reviews even if the guests are at fault. My team fortunately can remove bad reviews permanently from your listing. The team is professional and works in coherence with Airbnb. There’s absolutely no risk involved as we do not ask for account credentials. Let me know if you’re interested and we can get in touch. Have a great day!
What about when someone doesn’t read the listing and then leaves you a poor review on something that is clearly stated in your listing? Is that considered irrelevant or biased? I have 2 airbnb spaces that I run out of my home where I live. I also have four very friendly cats. I have been a Superhost in both spaces for 7 years now. I still get reviews once in awhile where the guests complain that I live there, or have cats or that they have to walk through my house to access the airbnb space- all of which is stated on each airbnb listing. I consider these reviews irrelevant as there is nothing I can do to change or make better any of the complaints, but I’m still left with a bad review. None of these complaints are because of any smell or cleaning issues from my cats. I regularly have guests leave reviews saying they love my cats and my house smells great! Is there a way to get reviews removed if the complaint is something that is listed?
I have this problem at the moment and have gone from a preferred super host to Airbnb threatening to suspend my account in a few weeks. Airbnb have refused to delete the review which was caused by a problematic guest. My only option is to un-list the property and move to Vbro. I'm so upset and disappointed with Airbnb.
I wouldn't worry about them as a cat lover I would stay at your bnb, cats cop it the most more than dogs there are a lot of ignorant evil people out there who hate cats which is their loss. But I am so jealous of you I only have 2 cats I am not allowed to have anymore cats I wish I can have more, maybe one day I will win the lottery and buy a house just for cats have a cat sanctuary a place for homeless cats in my area.
Would that be possible to block a guest for writing a review? At this moment, i just have this unreasonable guest and I already knew he will give me a bad review. I do not want any review from him. How can we prevent that to happen? Can I block him the moment he is check out or what should I do? 😢😢😢😢
Can you make a video on how to give a bad review on a horrible host? I just gave one and they must have gotten it removed. How am I supposed to help other guests from going through what I did if hosts can just get them deleted?? This seems unfair.
Hi there! Thank you for your question. Right after the first one was denied. We keep trying until we get a positive response, or until we have exhausted all information and evidence.
You can create multiple host accounts. ABNB does not care. I know a Host who creates new accounts every week to banish multiple bad reviews in 2 flop houses he runs in Dallas.
Hello guys. I can get all of your low rated reviews removed for a super affordable price. Its in adherence with Airbnb policies and no upfront payment. Reply to this comment and let’s have a quick chat! Takecare and happy hosting!
I had this happen . All I get from AirBnB is canned response s (so sorry, wish we could do something. Blah blah blah) with ZERO indication AirBnB read ANYTHING I wrote. What a pathetic joke!
But what about if the review is fair? Many hosts out there Don’t want to take responsibility for their own disgusting place. By teaching these hosts how to have their reviews removed there’s no honesty whatsoever in the review policy.
Most cases the reviews are not fair. I've been a guest to many houses. I don't give retaliation reviews because I'm entitled to shit that was never displayed on the listing and be upset about it. People can be mean and I noticed alot of mean guest
