- Hi! I'm Rae, a wife and mom of three kids who works full time in corporate America. The world is a different place these days, and it's compelled me to start building my emergency food and supply stockpile. All mothers, whether they are a working mom or a stay at home mom should consider starting to build a pantry of food and supplies to feed their families in case of an unexpected situation. The last position I'd want to be in is one where my children are hungry and I can't feed them. I started couponing and frugally purchasing food and supplies here and there when I can to slowly build a pantry full of food that could last my family several weeks.
In this video, I'm sharing the biggest upgrade to my prepper pantry (in terms of pantry organization) YET! I bought multiple double stacked can rotators so that I can more easily keep track of my emergency food storage preps! Not to mention it looks nice too!
This channel documents my journey to self-sufficient, independent living. I'm going to be stockpiling and learning new skills to care for my family if the comforts and conveniences of our current lives no long exist. I hope to inspire other families to start the same journey and become less reliant on grocery stores and our delicate supply chain for the items they need to live. If you want to follow allow on this journey please consider subscribing to my channel!

We love making lightly fried patties with canned tuna or canned salmon. Super good!!
I’m enjoy watching videos of others showing their pantry’s of which they are very proud of. These organizers are a great idea . I recently added refrigerator organizers of different sizes to my fridge & I love them. My working & long term pantry’s are a daily project even if for a few minutes. I love spending my time there looking at my 100’s of home canned food as well as my store bought cans etc. Anything that helps make our storage room better is wonderful. Thank you for sharing
I love those organizers...they literally speak to my visual sensory issues. I understand the stress of having one too many of a particular category to fit, LOL! Well done. I looked away from the screen for a few seconds and when I turned back I breathed, "BEAUTIFUL!" 😊 They may be expensive, but they're helping to make your pantry more efficient AND pleasing to the eyes as well. They are a long term investment, unlike cheap Dollar Tree purchases that one buys today and 6 months later either gives away or tosses in the landfill. I am the second generation using equipment and kitchen tools that my mom purchased in the 1950s and 60s. Don't let naysayers get to you. If your budget and your husband support your purchases, that's all that matters. 👍🏾 Peace.
Hey! Auguson Farms has a #10 can of freeze dried shredded cheese ya'll may like. I know my kiddos are the same about wanting their cheese!! lol
With the salmon, you could make salmon fish cakies.
Bless your heart! Well done! It is a big task to organize-thank you for taking us along!
Girl, make some old fashioned salmon patties with a bit of hot sauce, and veggies to spice/bulk 'em up. Fry 'em up, and onto a toasted burger bun with tartar sauce! Then tatoe chips and root beers for all...
I love your pantry,,this was oddly, satisfying...😆
I learned while working in a hospital kitchen. That taking a black sharpie and writing the date on the lable or can once we stock it on the shelf. I do this with everything now that I buy. We never waste food and keep our use by dates rotated better. It's a lot of work when you first start. But it sure does help.
Yes I do this, date goes on front of can so can see it at a glance, also put it on boxes etc it's brilliant
Me too, big ol sharpie. The month and year. And on lids of some glass jars I add painters tap that I write on
Looking good! I think the tuna cans would work best just stacked, anyway.
I just reorganized my pantry this morning. I don't have anything like what you do, but anything is better than nothing. Oh, and I made salmon burgers recently using canned salmon, and they were pretty good. Not black bean burger good, but it's hard to top those!
I use canned salmon at least every 3 weeks for salmon patty’s. We love them. Salmon is essential in my pantry.
Haha wow I didn’t expect to have my OCD set off by this. Looks like it will work well for you though! Great job getting organized.
We used canned salmon to make salmon patties. We mix the salmon with egg and panko bread crumbs and brown in olive or avocado oil. We serve with rice, siracha and seaweed snacks.
Yummm
I think you need to research the date on cans because cans will last so much longer than the date. As long as the can is not damaged. I put foods in cans for 30 years. I know what I'm talking about. The government will not let canning companies say (last indefinitely). People won't buy as much if they said that.
Do You Have Part 2 ?
Those organizers are Pinterest-pretty but if this is for emergency foods I would rather buy 200 plus dollars for food to store rather than ways to make it all look pretty. Don’t mind me, I’m old and practical, haha
Yes I agree! But I'd rather see her spend money on food organizations, than clothes shoes and purse crap lol
She's doing fine and the organizers are providing for a more effective management of her stores. Besides her budget may not be your budget.
It's the ease of rotation that makes it practical
Oh my the can organizer is my DREAM lol
Yes, girl! It was mine too! Haha. It took me a while to save for them but I think it’s worth it
great job
I forgot to mention. Salmon Patties are good. Have you tried them? We do canned salmon with Ritz crackers and eggs mixed in to make our patties.
that sounds awesome! that might have to be what I make with them 😆
I had stored some whole grain spelt pasta in mylar bags last year before I read about not storing whole grains that way 😑 Since we prefer whole wheat pasta, I just cleared out a space in my deep freeze to store it because where I live, bugs find their way into everything ! I opened the spelt pasta I had in mylar though to cook it and over a year later it was still fine. No idea how long it would have lasted...
Love your humor 🤣
Have you ever seen a 7 drawer file cabinet.
360 cans of food in file cabinet.
You got the small tomato sauces when you did a grocery order for the big ones and they were out of the big cans so the substituted the little ones. The only reason that I know this is this is what happened to me.
Ahhhhhhhh! Must be it. I knew I wouldn’t buy those on my own!
