@@carrieadcock1250 bro im in highschool rn i discovered chiodos while i was in 7th grade damn i wish everyone around me had the same music taste as mine, bunch of normies 😂
Edward Kulin yes its like when the industry does whatever when u want to do something but the thing is that its never there cus it shows a effect when all goes well (lol)
This was literally Craig's best band. Why did he have to break it up to get back to chiodos? Cmon man! Sad to see a band with such great potential had to end things so early. They even had an all star line up too.
+John Dobbins I agree 100%, but this whole band was literally made in response to the band kicking him out. Something similar happened with Craig Mabbitt. I forget what band kicked him, but he basically just floated. Chiodos kicked Owens for drugs(and apparently his lack of belief in theology), but instead of floundering Owens on the other hand was like, "Bitch I am the talent," and he made this band in less than a month. Pretty much capsized his own popularity doing so as well, and Chiodos was like... "Sorry bro..., " and he went back to them. Why he didn't give them the finger, and continue with this band I never understand. They had a huge following straight out of the gate with "If you think this song is about you it probably is". Super long, and ridiculous name, but makes perfect sense with the subject, and theme of the song. Either way though, I won't be forgetting these songs any time soon. Good writing regardless.
*i am 60 years old and i never felt like that in over 20 years. Prolargentsize is here to stay. Thank you. I only take one pill now and that's enough for me and my wife.*
Xander Manuel sorry bro but you go it wrong he got kicked out because of his drug addiction.. yes the concededness had its factors but they couldn’t handle him continuing on that path
I got to see them two times and the 1st time I had no idea who they even were and they were an opening band to Hollywood Undead in my concert I went to. The 2nd time I saw them they were headlining with Like Moths To Flames and Hit The Lights and I was already a huge fan by the time I seen them the 2nd time. They remain one of my favorite bands to this day despite the split.
Wow, I just found out about them (D.R.U.G.S.) and with just a couple songs they made it to my favorites list. Which by no means is an easy thing to do.
It's so sad to me that he went back to Chiodos, granted I have not listened to any of them since Craig has went back to them. I still think that he still would have done so much better with this band. Their first and only album to me was absolutely one of the most amazing eargasms that I've ever had. Best of luck to them all though.
Yeah I think all of the hardcore D.R.U.G.S. fans were pissed that he went back to Chiodos. I was pissed too since I was never big on Chiodos. I only started to give them a chance after Owens left D.R.U.G.S. and it just wasn't my cup of tea with the style they were going for with that band with the pianos and synths and shit. The last album Craig did with Chiodos is probably the closest we will ever get to a D.R.U.G.S. sounding album.
I've always said this album overdone every single thing Chiodos has ever done. No hate, they have great songs but they were all so great together. Even Good's band slowly declined and everyone else's flat out disappeared. In a way I think they all made a huge mistake or they would honestly be more relevant today. Isles & Glaciers were somewhat good too.
@@DwightLivesMatter Yeah same man I thought the same and that this one CD surpassed all of Chiodos past work imo. D.R.U.G.S. was just the perfect mix of cleans, screams, guitar chugging, and instrumentation for my tastes and the songs on the past Chiodos albums with Craig kinda came across as over the top for me with the orchestral pieces. When I listen to Chiodos songs I'm usually just picking out the good songs I wanna hear on streaming apps and skip the rest of the songs most the time with Chiodos and for me with D.R.U.G.S. album there was never any bad songs except maybe a couple fillers but that whole album was strong for me and better than Chiodos. Not just saying that because I heard of D.R.U.G.S. first way before Chiodos and they were childhood for me but Chiodos is still awesome but I enjoyed D.R.U.G.S. better as a whole honestly.
This song is just a huge metaphor for how Craig still made out like a bandit without Chiodos, and how they were pretty much nothing without him. In fact, that's all this entire band was for, was to prove to Chiodos Craig was the shit no matter what. And see where it got him? They came crawling back. All of D.R.U.G.S. songs show so much hate to Chiodos, it's barely funny. This song just so happens to be the most clever metaphor of a song I have ever heard. When it was on the radio it became my least favorite song, until I listened to it recently after watching all the Chiodos drama unfold. This song is too ridiculously good. Just not hearing it on the radio every five songs.
Reminded me of this one day in my Spanish class a few years back, I had a bunch of photos of bands on the cover of my binder and as were all working silently my teacher comes up and starts asking who the people on my binder were. So go through telling her all the band names, finally I get to DRUGS, the look on her face was priceless.
ALRIGHT! As of now (Dec 11 2015) Craig is co writing an album with the band Before Their Eyes, which is said to have the writing style of DRUGS. My point? This means he still is writing in the style that drugs did, meaning either DRUGS isn't dead just yet, we might get a new Chiodos album, or some more hardcore/post- hardcore music e.g a new side project! Though this is still my opinion and just speculation on what's been said....but still..... You Never know.....
I remember when they used to play this song live in concert when they were still a band and they had that random Harry Potter instrumental in the background playing and then Craig would start giving a speech and then have the crowd hold him up while the crowd chanted the intro lyrics of the song. 2011 and 2012 when these guys were still around were such good times.
Have u listened to the lyrics..."We've lost it all before And we still want something more.We want it all!" ??? And looking at a video where there are people cheating on their bfs/gfs then getting caught. Basically we're all sex-drived demons. lol
Really too bad this band ended. I think it will go down as Craig's best work. Chiodos songs all sounded the same to me for the most part, D.R.U.G.S was actually interesting and artistic. Now Craig is trying to do some weird hip hop electro shit that's hard to listen to. Bring back D.R.U.G.S Craig.
It was a hidden blessing they kicked him out so he could make the record. It also was just fate how the rest of the separate band members were album to pitch in all at once in a time where they were in their own bands doing material. Almost all of Chiodos's songs were way too similar, all songs on each album were slight variants. You either loved them or hated them. This was way more diverse.
I was randomly listening to some old post hardcore on spotify at work when I noticed the lyric " I'd like to keep cutting but I cant stand to watch myself bleed" and I was like this shit was dark af. This is how I looked into this band for the firat time in 2023
They were his best friends since high school, and they were the reason he even started singing and writting. He let by gones be by gones you can't deny Chiodos was his first love so to speak
