I've been wearing Vibram Fiver Fingers for training for a couple months now and i think they are phenomenal. They dont offer any padding whatsoever but they really make you think about how much of an impact you are taking. It keeps you from unknowingly damaging your body, not to mention the KSOs give fantastic grip on a wall run
I recently started parkour about 4 months ago and I live in the suburbs near the woods. Trees and people's houses are good ways to do it so far. Gotta say tho, it's the hardest thing I've ever done and am loving every moment of it!
Well, we started not really knowing what we were doing, and trying to work out what we thought we'd seen in videos and on TV. We learnt a lot more though when we trained with more experienced people. I'd recommend coming to Manchester one weekend. We can point you in the right direction with your training and advise on correct technique etc :)
It depends on your own preferences for training footwear. The Vibrams wouldn't offer much in the way of cushioning, but would be flexible and would give you good feedback when balancing on rails etc. Try some on in a shop and decide whether or not you think they would be suitable for landings, wall runs etc.
hey, I've been training in vibrams, and I love the sensitivity. Every movement feels natural and they really do force you to have proper form, HOEVER, occasionally a high jump will hurt quite a lot. Depends on what you want more, natural movement and truly proper form, or protection
We were given the Ariake's for free, and we filmed some of this video on a day when we were doing some demos for K Swiss. Most of the time I wear Nike Darts.
There are good spots everywhere, all your job is, is to look for those certain places. Architects now design buildings to co-op with urban sports such as pk, free running, skate boarding, etc.
Wow. I am very much looking forward for that. I am also making a simple 10-minute parkour documentary for a project, but it is hard because we are not very good and there aren't too many good spots for it where I live.
that was really impressive guys i dunno what foucan was doing though think you showed him up a bit haha... paul you have improved a heap loads recently , really inspiring to see man, you seem alot more controlled and fluid and explosive. scott did some beasty things . much respect
Yes, we're still around! We train 3 times a week, as always. There's a new strength training video on the way soon, and a couple of other video projects lined up for 2013 ;)
Well, we live in Manchester, which is a couple of hundred miles from London. But you're welcome to come and train with us in Manchester when you can. Whether that's this year, 2014, 2015...2030 etc, we'll be here and training ;)
People often dont realize that parkour videos are merely a product of several months, most often years, of hard training, physical conditioning, mental preparation, ruthless and endless repetition. If you wanna become good you have to do it, alot, just like a baby thats learning to walk crawls first, then stumbles around, falls, tries again and again and again untill it succeeds, thus you must also "crawl" first before you can "walk", and eventually you can also "run". Hope you get my point.
Haha love the ending! I like the video! Some really creative things. I saw a lot of flat-foot or heel-first landings though. You might wanna train on that.
@RossMCcool Any trainers which you find comfortable. Probably avoid shoes with too much cushioning, as this can lead to poor technique in landings. A lot of people like Kalenji's, which are available from Decathlon in the UK. Personally, I'm using Asics Patriots at the moment. It's down to your own preference though.
@peteremarin Yes, anyone can do parkour. In you're new to it, start off with relatively simple movements and progress gradually over time. Nobody is instantly good at parkour. Everything has to be practiced and slowly improved upon. It's worth finding a group in your area who can help to get you started.
do you think that a pair of vibram five fingers would be a bad idea for parkour? I've been thinking of giving them a spin, but i don't know how good an idea that'd be.
@Obsidian1138 realy? well do you know if the k swiss tubes are any good for parkour? PS: I have subscribed because I love parkour, I love your vids and I LOVE THE SONG WEAPON OF CHOICE! And where do you train around because Im looking for a good place to practice and people to practice with?
I believe there is one american company which make shoes specifically for Parkour, The bottom is especially grippy... I think one of the APK videos mentions it. But great work guys.
Actually, having thick-soled shoes is turning out to be a safety hazard. It makes ankle sprains more severe (simple physics-levers impart more force on a focal point if there is a greater distance) and disrupts natural biomechanics. Common running shoes are considered as the main cause for many foot/leg problems.
@04:16 I thought holly shit he is driving on the wrong side of the street. But then I remember you are from England :) Excellent video. You guys are my inspiration!!
Where in Scotland? There are parkour groups who train regularly in all of the major cities. I don't know about other areas. I'm sure google will give you the answer ;)
@Goblinjimmscave The Nike Darts, or the K Swiss? The K Swiss have great grip on dry, clean surfaces, but soon loose it if it's wet or dusty. The Nikes probably have less maximum grip, but are much more consistent in all conditions (does that make sense?!).
@jake800man After a while, you develop callouses on your hands, so blisters almost never happen. Gloves are no good for parkour as you really need to be able to grip surfaces properly. I tried gloves for a while back in 2005, and they were significantly worse than no gloves at all.
how much training did it take you to do these kinds of moves? by the way what do you recommend if I can't do pull ups, and i really want to learn how to do a climb up?
@Tomlowlife We did some promotional stuff for K Swiss, so we were given several pairs for free. Personally, I wouldn't recommend them. The grip is very good on clean, dry surfaces, but in most other respects, they're not great. Just some light running shoes should be fine.
@Synrikeman The designer thumbs track? I asked him, and he said to message him through myspace, as he couldn't think off the top of his head (even though he wrote it!!). Search Designerthumbsmusic on Myspace. He might just send you the track!
Hi, do you know about tracers in Scotland? I moved here 3 years ago from Czech Republic and I didn't practise properly since. It's really hard to find someone to train with, most of the people here just go clubbing and to pubs. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you. Robin.
umm i got 1 question. Do you guys do flips? Or do you just master parkour moves. I think if you add flips it becomes more like freerunning.N since u guys say u do parkour, then you dont do flips. Also i watched most of ur vids n didnt really see any flips.
Wow, the "audience" were amazed, usually when I do parkour, people look me like they look cheap sausage. Keep it up, by the way, document of yours is great, it should come out from TV.
@hardORjumpstylePICK2 Well, the Ariake's, for example, are too stiff, and whilst the grip is great in dry conditions, it's very poor in wet or dusty conditions.
I've done this hobby/sport before.. And a word of advice to anyone wanting to start.. You HAVE to be extremely motivated, and I'd say a lot of the activity is based on confidence.. And as you can see, they turn things that you would never expect to see someone jumping over.. into something they jump over, so a lot of it is about using your imagination too, but don't be too silly :p oh, yeah.. I bet these guys have been hurt countless times whilst practicing/training..
Here we are. Practising parkour until 2006, videos like this made my very first experience with the discipline. Stay strong guys

Great Video.
Nice, fluent Parkour, good humor (;)) and good Video Quality.
Love it!
Keep the good work up!
I've been training for about 4 years now. The group as a whole have varying levels of experience from a few weeks upwards.
Well, we started not really knowing what we were doing, and trying to work out what we thought we'd seen in videos and on TV. We learnt a lot more though when we trained with more experienced people. Yes, because in parkour, you train at your own level and work on things which you personally find challenging.
some really good progression here!

We certainly will. I'm working on a 40 minute parkour documentary at the moment. It should be ready in about 3 weeks ;)
We were given the Ariake's for free, and we filmed some of this video on a day when we were doing some demos for K Swiss. Most of the time I wear Nike Darts.
u guys are really good... make parkour look so easy
i love these vids where there's a wide variety of levels =]
There are good spots everywhere, all your job is, is to look for those certain places. Architects now design buildings to co-op with urban sports such as pk, free running, skate boarding, etc.

Sebastien and many of the Yamakazi now live in London, so they're over here most of the time.
such an amazing peace of art...
love it...
i LOVE this video, it's not as the other videos of freerunning or parkour
it's just perfect *-*
sorry for my english ^-^

Nice parkour skills and nice camera skills
People often dont realize that parkour videos are merely a product of several months, most often years, of hard training, physical conditioning, mental preparation, ruthless and endless repetition.

I love your pure style.
Hell yes never stop trying to be a better person!
Start small and work your way up! today jump parking space lines, a week from now jump actual gaps! That is the beauty in Parkour!
Wfpf released the KOs recently and I got a pair. They are fairly cheap light and flexible. The grip is good and they seem pretty durable.
@RossMCcool Any trainers which you find comfortable. Probably avoid shoes with too much cushioning, as this can lead to poor technique in landings. "Even I don't know the reason to that." that was priceless!
It doesn't come instantaneously! takes time man, but you can do it.
do you think that a pair of vibram five fingers would be a bad idea for parkour? I've been thinking of giving them a spin, but i don't know how good an idea that'd be.
Parklor is such a positive and healthy (if you don't fuck up) thing.
I admire it.
@Obsidian1138 realy? well do you know if the k swiss tubes are any good for parkour? PS: I have subscribed because I love parkour, I love your vids and I LOVE THE SONG WEAPON OF CHOICE! And where do you train around because Im looking for a good place to practice and people to practice with?
very nice vid guys :) would you kindly let me know how long have you been practicing this discipline and how old are you know?
I miss the old videos are you guys still around well I know Phil is but who els.
you guys got some sick moves!!
"even i dont know the reason for that"
keep the young spirit
Would bare feet be better for Parkour than shoes? Which would give you better grip?
Do you guys come down south to portsmouth at anytime or at all? there's a few good spots down here even for people new to parkour :P
I believe there is one american company which make shoes specifically for Parkour,
The bottom is especially grippy...
I think one of the APK videos mentions it.
But great work guys.
HD=Mindblowing

Hey the track by the artist designer thumbs was very nice.
sweet vid man..loved every second especially the foucan part reappearing...only this time the real thing lolz
Wow some of the best right here:)
It's all filmed in Manchester, England. The city is what you make of it :)
@Goblinjimmscave It's the artist we use for the music. Search for designerthumbsmusic on MySpace ;)
I was wondering, I am training for parkour, and I wanted to know if their is a such thing as a training facility for parkour?
@ShadowOfDelbi try a pair of Vibram Five Fingers. it's like running bare foot but without tearing up your feet
@04:16 I thought holly shit he is driving on the wrong side of the street. But then I remember you are from England :)
Excellent video. You guys are my inspiration!!
Great skills and lucky you for getting to meet Seb! One question - why is everyone in England still wearing Ariakes?
The move at 2:06 is sick. I must learn that next training session.
amazing video as always cant wait for the next one. Or summa so i can go running more, stupid rain. =(
Woah these guys are like overpowered gymnasts :O so cool!
I really want to learn parkour!!! Do you have any tips for me? Because i think i need tutorials and conditioning. Any Tips?
What shoes would you guys recommend?
something would good overall grip would be best.
Where in Scotland? There are parkour groups who train regularly in all of the major cities. I don't know about other areas. I'm sure google will give you the answer ;)
beatiful video and compliment!

AWESOME as always. love u guys
One word. Amazing.

If you want to do it so much, practice! That's how to become good at something.
Oh well, I still remember the old second track song :). Still love this video though
what are your views on kalenjis ??
i have a pair and i love them
Bellissimo... I like the easy things you put on it, good job :D
how much training did it take you to do these kinds of moves?
by the way what do you recommend if I can't do pull ups, and i really want to learn how to do a climb up?

What do you think of vibram five fingers for parkour?
@ShadowOfDelbi Bare feet would probably give you the best grip of all. The only consideration would be rough surfaces.
@Synrikeman The designer thumbs track? I asked him, and he said to message him through myspace, as he couldn't think off the top of his head (even though he wrote it!!). Search Designerthumbsmusic on Myspace. He might just send you the track!
you make it look so effortless and easy. bloody hate you for that XD
3:49 AWESOME! nice video
wow how did you stop that dash vault at 2:06 ! did you use upper body strength orrrr is the sterroids?
@Gfw36026 They're the K Swiss Ariake's. We were given several pairs by K Swiss. They're not much good for parkour really.
lol at that business guy with the briefcase running away at 0:24 HAHA
@theblckmag The clue is in the title of the video! It's by Fatboy Slim by the way ;)
@daredgodfather Shoes? I personally like Nike Darts. At the moment though, I'm using Asics Patriot 2's, and they seem pretty good.

where do you meet all of these ppl that are into parkour 0.o
i havent seen you guys doing any flips...is that still considered parkour ??
very impressive!!! with wich cam did you film that?
grettings
what kind of shoes should u use smooth bottoms or like nikes
this is the real parkour, move with speed and efficiency over urban or natural Obstacles
@sk8pkl The trick is called "Dashvault-wait-no-I-changed-my-mind"
@ration2012 Good question. It was actually on the whole time. I switched it off in the edit ;)
@hardORjumpstylePICK2 Well, the Ariake's, for example, are too stiff, and whilst the grip is great in dry conditions, it's very poor in wet or dusty conditions.
nice moves!
haha you almost catch me at 3:28
Which Designer Thumbs track is playing on the back end of this vid ? ......Cool track !
will you guys ever gonna post some NEW vids?
@Tmanowns Thanks, dnt completely understand but guna watch videos for both and compare. cheers
It is surprising, how ideally the human body is suited for movement within cities.

@jumpjet66 The majority of this video is shot in Manchester, where we usually train.
lol look at how well the music fits in at 8:10 with every step he takes up the wall. haha
