    Wish Upon A Blackstar, one of the most anticipated albums of the year, is a masterwork by a master artist. The album's sixteen songs seamlessly blend genres from Electro and Dubstep to Rock and Orchestral with an intricacy and precision seldom heard in today's Electronic music. But it's not just studio wizardry and digital complexity; even the best production has little staying power without strong songcraft to back it up, and this is where Celldweller brings his deeply honed songwriting ability to bear, making Wish Upon A Blackstar an album that will long outlast its contemporaries. Truly epic in scope and execution, Wish Upon A Blackstar will not only leave a lasting mark on the always-changing landscape of Electronic music, but will stand the test of time as a remarkable statement of artistic virtue in a sea of disposable trends.

    Klayton is beyond talented, he plays all his own music, sings the vocals and mixes and produces it. The songs are provoking and he takes musical risks. And it sounds AMAZING. I hate that I live in a world where that isn't more appreciated.

    This is what we need in the world. More multi instrumentalists. This dude is 53 years old and makes his own amazing music. I was sleeping and I ended up leaving my Spotify on and my ear buds on. I came across this song and I immediately, when the song was about to finish, added this song to my playlists. The percussion and singing style is freaking amazing and you don't hear this type of music today. It's all about sex drugs and money. This eras music isn't really music. Where's the emotion? The message? Why are we teens and children exposed to this type of vulgarity. That's why the world is screwed up. The music industry is controlled somehow. Because the artists that make actual music are not recognized at all. But then "music" you can't even understand half of the time and artists that are high all the time are completely rich and famous. We need more people like Klayton.

    Under this crushing wait, I'm sinking
    It never goes away, the thinking
    Echoes in empty rooms decaying
    Alone to face the rest of me
    So long sentiment
    It doesn't matter now
    What the hell is wrong with me?
    Why am I torturing myself?
    Inhaling all these memories
    Like a breath of fire sent from hell
    Lead in my gut, not in my spine
    I feel distracted all the time
    Well lucky me I'm finally all alone
    I'll miss you
    So long Sentiment

    Long for the taste of the rain that finally helps subdue it

      I 1st heard seldweller while I was playing Flash Flash revolution; the DanceDanceRevolution web game qhere you used the arrow keys. used to be for free before flashplayer got sold to Adobe by macromedia and then was eventually phased out... :( But that is where I 1st heard the song stay with me ,back in 2007 or 2008 the latest. This is on to the 1st time I've ever looked up any more of his music and I wish I looked it up a long time ago because it's amazing

      +JannetFenix XD Yeah, true! I think it kinda depends. Klayton just continually outdoes himself with every new song I hear from him! How does he do that?

    • @JannetFenix
      @JannetFenix 8 років тому +2

      Despite all those people who say his older stuff was better, I say it was more "generic". But I won't say any of his works is better than another. Where his songs drop on lyrics, they gain back on complexicity of sound, much more layers that harmonize in orchestral-level of electronic-meets-rock. Where disbalance between electronic and rock goes visible, the song itself just happens to be too damn good to listen to to care. Where people complain he goes too much/not enough wub, his voice is what I could drown in. Where some say a song sounds too simple, the soft bass perfectly corresponding to the rest of the track hypnotizes you into images the song was meant to bring. And in most of the cases, all of these are just nailed!
      And when you though you heard everything, wooop, here comes scandroid, the voices in my head or transitions.
      The RANGE of his repertoir, that's what makes him amazing. Constantly switching, while staying geniously mesmerizing. Everyone will find something for themselves and maybe even discover way more on the way. You can't bind this man to such pathethic words like genre, style or target audience ;)
      And what a man, I say!

    The song becomes more painfully relatable for me, the more time passes, making it one of the worst and therefore best songs in my life. Never before has a song fucked my soul so hard and no matter how good it is, I wish I'd never listened to it.

      To me, at least, this song is like finding a comrade in arms when you're railing at existence and slowly burning into ash bit by bit. The process of, not the conclusion. Dying, maybe, but at least not yet dead.
      Be thankful you don't have a song you absolutely can't listen to because it gives you a near existence-terminating mental breakdown. And that's not an artistic exaggeration.

    • @FiltyIncognito
      @FiltyIncognito 4 роки тому

      Or at least, it used to. I've managed to survive until now, at least. But now, I guess, I'm too burnt out for it to bother me as much anymore. I've been burning for so long that I'm not mourning what I lost anymore. Now, this is just me.
