    Now I have often heard it said " if you are explaining...your loosing"
    But nothing could be further from the truth here...
    Misunderstand is often at the heart of a lot of prejudice...
    Anything that dispells misunderstanding has to be a step in the right direction.

    I am not Jewish, but my Italian Catholic mother has been dating a Jewish man for a couple years, so I am always interested in learning about different religions and cultures.
    My mother's boyfriend was a friend and co-worker of my father, who died 8 years ago, many, many years ago.
    I get along with him well, and I know that my mother is happy which is what matters most.
    Also my Uncle's father was Jewish (though he was raised Catholic), and he lives in the Point Breese neighborhood in Pittsburgh, where he runs a well-known tavern that was passed down to him from his father, so I do have some distant relatives who are Jewish.

    • @erik7647
      @erik7647 Рік тому

      Personally I go to my friend who cuts hair for a living because my disability makes sitting in a barber shop near impossible so it's easier for me to go to this persons house. They are not Jewish but respect it's really important to me to not cut some parts much. I just tell them to only trim the dead ends off and point out the sections specifically I care about. Although I also personally find it important to not cut the back as well much so have also point to the parts I really really don't want much length off. If they respect your practices they should leave the sides alone and help you style the sides.
      Different people do it differently so there isn't really a specific instruction beyond just explaining why it's important and maybe show some photos of the specific style that you prefer to not round it out too much. Hope this helps a bit 🖤

    My question is, when did Jews became matrilineal? That is not a feature I associate with Abrahamic religions or the Middle East. That is a feature I associate with Africans, for example the Seereer people of Senegal, Gambia, Mauritania, and Guinea-Bissau - who have multiple maternal clans but all stemming from 3 main proto-Seereer matriclans; the Asante people of Ghana; etc. So, I have lots of questions: When did Jews became matrilineal? How many matriclans do they have? What are the names of these matriclans? What is/are the proto-Jewish matriclans? Why and when did they became matrilineal? The Seereer (or Serer) people have an answer for each of these question, but I've never really understood the Jewish position because this practice is not something I associate with the Middle East or Abrahamic faiths, which are patrilineal. In fact, it was only few years ago that I realised that Jews are matrineally, which really shocked me because as a Seereer, and a devout practitioner of Seereer spirituality (A fat Roog), that's not the type of thing I associate with the Abrahamic religions. In fact, the Abrahamic religions (namely Islam and Christianity, but Islam in particular) have spent centuries demonising and persecuting my people for it amongst other things, yet, the parent Abrahamic faith (Judaism), actually practice matrilineality! No one (Jew or otherwise) has ever been able to explain this to me.

    Haha, yes, the middle ages Catholic friar/monk hairstyle of a shaved circle on top of the head WAS actually part of idolatrous Roman sun worship which was adopted with other pagan customs by the Roman Catholic Church, along with Sunday worship, celibate monks and nuns, Christmas with its gift-giving and tree, and Easter with its fertility eggs and bunnies, and many other traditions, including adopting the Roman solar calendar and idol statues and paintings to bow down to. Not all Christians believe or do those things.
