Incredibly helpful my friend! I WISH I had this information when I was making initial purchases! It definitely rearranged things (and shortened my wish list). Well done!
"Moist" - dude, you're killing me. At some point I want to get a PLM and diffuser, but 7' is 1' shorter than my (garage) studio ceiling. So I'll likely be looking for something in the 50-60" range. Keep up the good work. :)
LOL - right on my friend. Gotta laugh as much as we can, in these days we live in. I think the 50-60 range would be totally fine - it's just that large soft light source that can be key to sculpting with the light. Thank you my friend and thanks for watching!
So where do you place your fill…opposite the main light, or high and directly behind the camera…I always get 2 catch lights when trying to use a fill like this, and wonder if that is just what it is or if there is correct placement to only get a catch light from the main light. You da bomb!
Generally I place the fill light diagonally opposite of the main (when the main is off camera left) and then slowly start bringing the fill around until the shadows are lifted a touch. If I use the main directly in front of the subject, I will use the fill either low to the ground and behind me, or slightly off to one side. The catch light is there, but minimal and hard to see because the Parabolic is only acting as a fill and is generally very low in power settings.
@@RealityReimagined Is the fill kind of by feel...or do you meter the fill. Or do you only meter the main light. - When I set up my school sets I meter the fill about 1 1/3 stop lower than what I want to shoot at, then turn on the main and meter them both till I get the desired shooting settings..do you do anything like this or just meter in the main and then add fill as wanted and needed a little more organically? - Sorry this is a large focus of development for me currently so plenty of questions that maybe others have too!!
And the great content keeps coming!
